It would seem that unless you are Taylor Swift or you have a viral video that rocks the internet. #1 debuts in the streaming era aren't going to happen

W/ all the dramatic declines UF is getting I think theres a chance it may fall out of the top 2 next week. Meaning, 'if' that happens, means it only would've tied OSD- not broken the record.

It's actually holding up surprisingly well in sales. Thought it would've been out of the top 5 by now. I can't see Sugar, LMLYD, EI, TQ, GDFR, SUAD, etc. possibly passing it next week. It's still top three in all three components. It will surely break the "record" this week for the most weeks in the top 2 and next week for the most weeks in the top three. Too bad those "records" don't really mean anything...though I do hope it gets 30 weeks in the top 10 passes PRA for the most weeks in the top 10 this decade (then one more week before passing Smooth for the most this century right?). This week will be its 21st if I'm not mistaken. Surely it will pass CS/AATB for the second-most this decade.

Looks like The Weeknd will block M5 and Ellie from an AirPlay #1.

Looks like The Weeknd will block M5 and Ellie from an AirPlay #1. Considering "Sugar" is decreasing, I think it's more accurate to say "Uptown Funk" blocked their song from #1 ;) But, yeah, The Weeknd should jump over them and be the next airplay #1.

If UF can manage hang on to #1 airplay this week, it will pass "We Found Love" for the longest reign on that chart this decade...glad to know that The Weeknd will get an airplay #1 with his first solo U.S. single :)

Airplay tracking week ends Tuesday right? Gonna be close if that's the case.
Regardless, Uptown Funk will have AT MOST one more week at #1 on airplay(the last of the three components to still show it as #1). Then on the way down we can look watch for other stats like weeks in the top 2, weeks in the top 3, and so on....

Anyone have any idea why Honey I'm Good is so high in sales? It's just an ok song and no way near as good as a couple on his debut album. Is it getting a lot of AirPlay? Is there a cool video for it? What's causing such high sales?

Crazy that SYA is gonna sell another 400kish and radio is only FIRST getting all over this. 10+ weeks at #1 should be a shoe-in. Again, w/ no major competition in sight, don't be surprised if we're dealing w/ yet another 14 week #1 and all the drama will begin again lol. Not a fan of the song but am objective enough to know when something has that multi format smash appeal. This looks to be possibly bigger than UF since UF, BL, Happy etc..took way longer to catch on and/or hit #1. This is just such an instant song for the GP. Simple but perfect lyrics, melody, production, nothing controversial, etc etc..One of those songs that you're surprised no one has written yet. Def has that I'll Always Love You kind of potential.

I'm not a country fan (most of country songs bore me) but Girl Crush is awesome, I hope it can be the "Need You Now" of 2015. Still needs more airplay and good sales (is #2 on iTunes because the ACM)

It is waaaay too early to know this. SYA hasn't even officially gotten its second week. I personally don't see it getting 10 weeks at #1 because it would need to maintain these super high movie-driven sales for a few more weeks. It dropped about 70k-80k this week already.

Radio is reacting fairly quickly, IMO. I mean, songs don't just jump to #1 at radio in a week or two (just not how it works), and "SYA" only broke out in sales 2-3 weeks ago. It's rising really fast at radio, so radio is reacting to the sales. And yeah, I can see "SYA" having a long run, but then no one saw "SYA" coming so who knows what is on the horizon? There could be a real summer jam about to drop.

The song has been holding steadily for like a month now, but it seems airplay will never catch up in time. How is it doing on radio right now?

I just don't see SYA maintaining big enough sales and streaming for the next 8-9 weeks to stay at #1 the whole time...

Betting on 14 weeks at #1 for a song that just hit #1 this past week is pretty crazy.

If I were to guess I would say 5 weeks at #1 for SYA

If it gets 10 weeks, we would have a situation where 3 songs have occupied the #1 spot for half a year.
