Really hope Janet can get some traction with this song and crack the top 40! I don't think this will be a one and done unlike Madonna's viral video. It would be nice to see that she's still relevant in today's changing musical world.

Tim- I thought that maybe another album had done it, hence the inquiry. :) I thought perhaps Adele, who was mentioned in the Chart Highlights article for having three AC No. 1s from an album, but I guess not.
LOL- yes, it's not number of hits, and in what range, on the Hot 100 that dictates an act's status.

Didnt read the 'breakdown' but WHY is SYA still #1?? LOL :#. Not a Taylor fan but most def. think she deserves to be #1 and very, very surprised she's not. Song is massive on radio and still very strong sales and I'm assuming streaming so....no idea why she isn't #1.

I don't even care about Taylor Swift that much but, she deserved another couple weeks at num.1! Yes "See You Again" was huge but Taylor outsold it and I'm sure would have been just as close with streaming if it was included on Spotify! Bad Blood should of been num.1.

I'm almost 100% sure that Bad Blood would be #1 if it was on Spotify. I think "I Knew You Were Trouble" faced the same thing in early 2013 because Red was not available on Spotify until months after its release and it got stuck at #2.

Also, SYA is experience a rare feat - Urban and HAC are gaining in large number - large enough to offset the drops in Pop and Rhythmic. HAC I get, but I was surprised how late Urban was. Had airplay on Urban been synched with Pop/Rhthymic, I bet BB would be number because HAC wouldn't be able to offset drops on all three. But Taylor is selling single and albums and BB was already #1, Taylor is not crying at all.

If Tayolr had waited some two weeks to release Bad Blood, then she would've been #1 all along.

Well, I don't really care about more weeks at #1, I learned through that a one week at #1 is still a #1 song..

She was always a little behind SYA (except for week 1, obviously), but had she released the song some two weeks later SYA would already be a little weaker, and she it'd have been easier to sustain a lead over it.

But that makes no sense if every week played out the way it did. How would BB be above SYA just cuz it was released a couple weeks later?

I'm thrilled to see new songs break into the top ten (about time!), but the really exciting news of the week is Janet's debut. I love that she scored her 40th chart hit with such a deserving song. <3

Digital artists of today and all the chart hits they rack up are good for this era but can't be compared to prior eras very easily, otherwise the biggest artist of all time would be the cast from Glee

BB's second week was not stronger than SYA's eight week, but it'd have been stronger than SYA's tenth week, and then Bad Blood's third week would have topped SYA's eleventh week, and so on. Does that make sense?

Would "Bad Blood" be as big as it was if the video was not released on BBMA?

I'm still so surprised that Sugar sold that much. As a 3rd single, even with the extra version.
