If we assume that Cheerleader sold 20k on Friday, then Drag Me Down would have sold approx 140k!
I think it will easily sell over 300k over the full week, maybe even 350k. Only the points from sales would be enough for a Top-5 debut.

Now the hot 100 update was moved 2 days ahead each week and therefore it's supposed to be from Saturday to Friday!! Then "drag me down" will be on this week's hot 100 thanks to its monstrous one-day sale!!

Dust paid to The Velvet Rope >:( When I was in Seattle in mid-1990s, I remember a Grammy preview and Janet was up for something, probably "Scream," and they made what I thought was a strange comment - that Janet Jackson is just one single away from her career stalling. I thought it was so strange because at that point everything from WHYDFML to Runaway (except for TPP had hit the Top 10!). Well GTIG and I suppose TFP (though I don't know if it was promoted in US), derailed things quickly, despite the rush release of TA. Things just weren't the same - especially on Pop radio. That's really interesting. I can see that for TVR where Together Again was the only massive Pop radio hit, but the All For You era seemed to turn that around with three MASSIVE back-to-back pop hits. She also gave Beenie Man his biggest hit stateside in 2002. I doubt pop radio jumped on Feel It Boy b/c of him or b/c it's such a solid track. I often wonder how the Damita Jo singles would've fared without the incident and I will always profess "My Baby" would've been the 2nd single w/o the blacklist (and would've been sent to Pop, Rhythmic, Urban, Hot AC, and Urban AC).

Drag Me Down is the most played song on USA Spotify yesterday with more than a million plays in one day (yes you read that right). It also seems to be climbing fast on radio. I don't dislike the song or anything but I really hope it doesn't debut at #1 this week...

The last few weeks it was around 700k-800k per day. But CFMF got 962k yesterday (whereas DMD got nearly 1.2M which I think might be a record)

This week, it's gonna be very close for #1, it seems. The released video of CFMF didn't get too many views, so streaming for CFMF and CL should be pretty close. Sales and Airplay are also expected to be similar.
Next week would be even more interesting. CFMF and CL will be trading blows again, but there will be another contender for #1: DMD. It seems to have sold around 200k in the first two days of release. It will easily sell over 300k for the full week, which would be more than sufficient to take care of the Airplay deficit, so if it can manage 10M+ on streaming, then we could see a 3-way fight!

Hopefully DMD's video will be released sometime this week for extra streaming, even if it doesn't get a full week

How many plays does the #1 song usually get on an average day? The last few weeks it was around 700k-800k per day. But CFMF got 962k yesterday (whereas DMD got nearly 1.2M which I think might be a record) Doesn't See You Again hold the record with 4.2 mi streams in a day?

I think that date corresponds with its first week atop the Hot 100, when it had 25 million streams. Powered by the arrival of the clip, "Again" blasts 26-1 on Streaming Songs with 25 million U.S. streams, a 510 percent increase. The track also debuts at No. 1 on the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart (7.7 million, up 1,087 percent). "Again" is the first song to enter atop On-Demand Songs in the chart's three-year history. (It additionally wins the Hot 100's top Digital and Streaming Gainer awards.)

The tracking week for streaming used to be Monday - Sunday, same as sales? In that case, I think I was wrong - streaming from Monday April 13th would correspond with its second week atop the Hot 100, not its first. "Again" notches a second week at No. 1 on both Streaming Songs (24.6 million U.S. streams, down 1 percent) and the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart (8.7 million, up 14 percent). Airplay is quickly catching up: "Again" vaults 49-18 in its second week on Radio Songs with a 104 percent surge to 48 million all-format impressions, granting the song top Airplay Gainer honors on the Hot 100.EDIT: Billboard also posted an article themselves about that 4.2 million Spotify record.

Airplay is quickly catching up: "Again" vaults 49-18 in its second week on Radio Songs with a 104 percent surge to 48 million all-format impressions, granting the song top Airplay Gainer honors on the Hot 100.but still even 8.7 million - 4.2 million = 4.5 million over the other 6 days seems to be really unevenly distributed lol

Is it possible that the 4.2 million-in-a-day was a global Spotify record, not just for the US? The Billboard article never actually specifies. This BBC article never states that the 4.2 million came from the US alone. Since it's a BBC article, you think they would've clarified that. Similarly, this MTV Australia article never mentions the US either. EDIT: Here's a Spotify Insights article about the record, which includes a list with the following header: It set single-day streaming records in these countries (in addition to globally.) So yeah, I think that 4.2 million was a global record and some news outlets erroneously assumed it was US-only.

Top 10 predictions: 1. Cheerleader (lead down to low single digits) 2. Can't Feel My Face 3. Watch Me 4. Bad Blood 5. My Way 6. See You Again 7. Fight Song 8. Trap Queen 9. The Hills 10. Lean On 11. Worth It 12. Where Are U Now? 15. Good for You 17. 679 29. Drag Me Down For My Way to go over See You Again, it will need to get over 12.5 million streams. Unlikely in my opinion.

Worth It has more than likely peaked. Hopefully it will make 30 weeks! I'm also hoping Elastic Heart manages to make 30 weeks.. But radio collapsed this week so I doubt it
