DMD broke the global streaming record on Spotify. I think it has a chance of being #3 on next week's chart.

Radio is huge too, and I think someone in the thread said that it only had a one day deal, which is good because it seems pop is stanning for it, and it won't have the eighth day effect on Saturday, which would've knocked back radio for Sunday. If sales could boost just a small bit for Uma Thurman (which I can see happening), depending on what streaming is like, they may be able to get their sixth (?) top 10! I loved Uma Thurman at first but it burned on me really fast, hope it sees success.

The radio tracking week is Monday - Sunday (8/3-8/9), so the song's inflated opening day (7/31) won't be included in the total. Hence, the "eighth day effect" will apply. In order to maximize first week Hot 100 airplay, you would need an hourly airplay deal on Sunday. Maybe I'm misinterpreting your comment?

That was my point, I originally thought it got a week deal, meaning it would have a deal Friday through Saturday (if I'm not mistaken), meaning it would have the inevitable big decrease/end of deal day within its debut week, hurting its radio for that week? Unless I am entirely wrong, I'm not too familiar with radio deals and am still getting used to the new tracking periods

Apple Music doesn't publish a separate streaming chart right? Or at least I didn't notice it when I was trying it out. The only chart that I saw was just the itunes sales chart pulled over with non-streaming tracks removed. Has that changed?

Not exactly sure what you mean here. The radio tracking week is Sunday - Saturday (8/2-8/8), so the song's inflated opening day (7/31) won't be included in the total. Hence, the "eighth day effect" will apply. In order to maximize first week Hot 100 airplay, you would need an hourly airplay deal on Sunday.Maybe I'm misinterpreting your comment? That was my point, I originally thought it got a week deal, meaning it would have a deal Friday through Saturday (if I'm not mistaken), meaning it would have the inevitable big decrease/end of deal day within its debut week, hurting its radio for that week? Unless I am entirely wrong, I'm not too familiar with radio deals and am still getting used to the new tracking periods --- So your scenario (inflated airplay for the entire first week) would have actually been *better* for the song, since it would mean that several days within the 8/3-8/9 tracking period would have included inflated numbers. As it stands, none of the days within the Hot 100 tracking period are benefiting from a deal -- all are based on organic spins. --- I think the concept of an 8th-day effect gets misconstrued. Here's a very basic example of how it would work: Day 1, hourly airplay deal = 1400 spins Day 2 - no deal, 400 spins. Day 3, no deal, 400 spins. Day 4, no deal, 400 spins. Day 5, no deal, 400 spins. Day 6, no deal, 400 spins. Day 7, no deal, 400 spins. The song's first week spin total is therefore 3800. Then comes Day 8. Without a deal, let's say the song receives 400 spins on day 8. Its rolling seven day total (Day 2- Day 8) is now 2800. Kworb will show a -1000 spin loss. That -1000 is the "8th day effect." It's not that Day 8 is any worse than Days 2-7, it's just that Day 8 wasn't as hot as Day 1. -- So, in this case, you'd ideally want to have Day 1 be on Monday, since it would fall within the tracking week.

Well, poo :( I was getting excited for some rapid turnover with "Cheerleader" -> "Can't Feel My Face" -> "Drag Me Down."
Hopefully CFMF hasn't missed its chance completely and can take over either next week or (preferably) the week after (depending on what happens with DMD.)

Odd that the Billboard video no longer includes the little trivia and commentary. I wonder if they were tired of looking at, say, Walk the Moon's Twitter account for anything at all to grab onto.

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6649624/omi-cheerleader-number-1-hot-100-fourth-weekOMI's 'Cheerleader' No. 1 on Hot 100 for Fourth WeekBy Gary Trust | August 03, 2015 3:38 PM EDT The reggae/pop song leads again, while The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" keeps pace at No. 2 & crowns the Digital Songs chart. Just like a cheerleader atop a pyramid, OMI's "Cheerleader" stands highest above all other songs, leading the Billboard Hot 100 for a fourth week. The reggae/pop smash holds off "Can't Feel My Face," by Hot 100 Music Festival headliner The Weeknd, which stays to No. 2 and dethrones "Cheerleader" as the top-selling song in the U.S. As we do each Monday, let's run down the top 10 and more on the Hot 100 (dated Aug. 15). As a reminder, highlights of the airplay/sales/streaming-based Hot 100 now post on Billboard.com each Monday, with all charts updated on Tuesday, following the July 10 adoption of the Friday retail global release date. Note, too, that, as of this week, on-demand streams from Apple Music join the streaming data pool for the Hot 100, as well as other genre charts that include streaming figures and the Billboard 200 albums chart. "Cheerleader," released on Louder Than Life/Ultra/Columbia, remains atop the Hot 100 despite its drop to No. 2 on the Digital Songs chart after four weeks at No. 1 (148,000 downloads sold, down 9 percent, in the week ending July 30, according to Nielsen Music). It holds at No. 3 on both Radio Songs (140 million in audience, up 5 percent) and Streaming Songs (16.1 million U.S. streams, up 17 percent). At four weeks in charge for "Cheerleader," OMI boasts the longest-leading reggae No. 1 on the Hot 100 by a solo male since 2007, when Sean Kingston also led for four frames with, likewise, his debut hit, "Beautiful Girls." The last reggae ruler by a solo male to reign longer? Snow's "Informer," which led for seven weeks in 1993. Among all acts, the last reggae No. 1 to spend more than four weeks on top: MAGIC!'s "Rude" (six weeks) last summer. Directly below "Cheerleader" on the Hot 100, The Weeknd's "Face" ranks at No. 2 for a third week. Most notably, the track grants The Weeknd his first Digital Songs No. 1, as it zooms 4-1 with a 21 percent gain to 148,000 (outselling "Cheerleader" by less than 1,000 downloads). It also wins top Digital Gainer honors on the Hot 100. "Face" keeps at No. 2 on Radio Songs (144 million, up 5 percent) and lifts 6-5 on Streaming Songs (13.1 million, up 21 percent) following the July 28 premiere of its official video on Apple Music and its wider release the following day. It logs a fourth week at No. 1 on the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart (6.3 million on-demand U.S. streams, up 2 percent). The single also leads Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for a third week. The race was close again for the Hot 100's top spot, with The Weeknd still well in play to overtake OMI next week. Not only is "Face" up by 15 percent in overall points, compared to the still-impressive 5 percent increase of "Cheerleader," but next week's sales and streaming tracking period will cover the week ending Aug. 6, thus, reflecting The Weeknd's July 31 headlining spot at Lollapalooza 2015, as well as the "Face" video's first full week of tracking. The rest of the Hot 100's top five is stationary: Silento's "Watch Me" holds at its No. 3 peak, while leading Streaming Songs and Hot Rap Songs for a second week each; Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood," featuring Kendrick Lamar, keeps at No. 4, with the former Hot 100 No. 1 (on the chart dated June 6) leading Radio Songs for a fifth week (148 million in audience, down 6 percent); and, Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again," featuring Charlie Puth, stays at No. 5 after the Furious 7 smash spent 12 weeks at the Hot 100's summit, tying for the longest stay at No. 1 ever for a rap hit. Major Lazer and DJ Snake surge 10-6 on the Hot 100, reaching a new peak, with "Lean On," featuring MØ. The collab adds top Airplay Gainer kudos, reaching the Radio Songs top 10 (11-7; 86 million, up 18 percent). It returns to its No. 10 highpoint on Digital Songs (71,000, up 4 percent) and dips 8-10 on Streaming Songs, but with a 23 percent boost to 10.9 million. "Lean" additionally leads the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a third week. Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" drops 6-7 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2, and he doubles up in the top 10 again: "My Way," featuring Monty, backtracks 7-8 but takes the top Streaming Gainer award, as it vaults 16-6 on Streaming Songs (12.7 million, up 92 percent). It tumbles 2-5 on Digital Songs, down by 41 percent to 90,000 (after it debuted with 152,000 following its July 17 retail release). "Way" to go: Fetty Wap's "My Way" is the second top 10 by that title in the Hot 100's history (with the chart celebrating its happy 57th birthday tomorrow, Aug. 4). Usher's different composition called "My Way" spent three weeks at No. 2 in 1998. Music fans of a certain age surely recall Frank Sinatra's signature "My Way," which reached No. 27 in 1969; Elvis Presley's cover hit No. 22 in December 1977, following his death that August. Back to this week's Hot 100 top 10: Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" descends to No. 9 from its No. 8 highpoint and Walk the Moon's No. 4-peaking "Shut Up and Dance" slides 9-10 (while topping Hot Rock Songs for a 19th week). Both songs are freshly minted No. 1s on airplay charts: the former takes over atop Adult Pop Songs and the latter becomes the new leader on Adult Contemporary. In action just below the Hot 100's top 10, Selena Gomez's "Good for You," featuring A$AP Rocky, jumps 16-13 (after debuting at its No. 9 high five weeks ago); Fetty Wap's third chart entry, "679," featuring Remy Boyz, rises 18-16 (a new peak); and, Demi Lovato's "Cool for the Summer" reaches the top 20, sizzling 24-19. Visit Billboard.com Tuesday (Aug. 4), when all rankings, including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh, as they do each Tuesday.

I'm surprised Cheerleader is still #1, I thought CFMF would have been #1 for sure. Let's hope CFMF is #1 next week.
Glad to see Lean On rebound as well.
