There's someone in BB's comment section called Brinley and she's trashing everyone right now. Literally, she's posting comments every spare minute she's got.

Yeah, the best part of Work hitting #1 for me is it contributing to a relatively high turnover rate at the top of the chart. Last year this same time Uptown Funk was only halfway through, surrounded by Blank Space and See You Again. Also, 34 weeks now without a US-born artist topping the chart? TWO Caribbean artists during that period? I'm ecstatic.

I admit the turnover is nice, though I would've liked 4-5 weeks atop for Love Yourself (or even better yet for Stressed Out to get 1 or 2 of those weeks, but that ship has sailed). This does make the chart interesting. I think this is the longest streak since late 2010 (G6 -> other Ri/Drake collab -> WRWWR -> G6 again -> Ri again -> Glass -> Katy) of no two consecutive weeks having the same #1. Pretty impressive

And that's another Canadian artist at #1! I think Work could be #1 for a long time. It's not even top 10 on pop radio yet, and the music video has just come out. Also, it's a very summery song and I don't know about everyone else but I know I will be listening to this song for years, so I think it could have longevity. It's not going to be a 2-week #1, unless something dramatic happens.

Is New Romantics going to be available to stream anywhere? It's NOT on Apple Music, and I'm guessing there's not a chance she puts it on Spotify

One Call Away top 10 next week? I'm already too tired of this song to be rooting for it anymore... I agree his musics are extremely generic-sounding and may appeal to the general public a lot

For now, RIhanna has a 14th #1 without Billboard qualifications, but Billboard has been known to change their mind on records like this. I feel like they used to count Elvis' 1955-1958 #1s for chart stats and then decided to drop those around the 50th anniversary of the Hot 100 in 1958. Or maybe sooner than that? When My Boo went to #1, Billboard made an announcement of Confessions being the first album to yield 4 #1s in awhile. But My Boo was on the re-release. I remember questioning that by writing to Fred Bronson, like it wasn't as legit to me as when Mariah Carey had done it. The when Katy Perry got her sixth #1 with her re-release, they recapitulated and said it wasn't a record-breaker because it was from a re-release. One record I wonder if I will ever see being broken is Mariah's cumulative weeks at #1. Rihanna is the only one with a chance at breaking that anytime soon. I understand and agree with the examples you've given, but they aren't really relevant or specific to an artist's credit on a song counting in an overall #1 (or whatever) tally. That's not the same thing as a song on a re-release album or counting elvis's songs pre H100 or not. I can't see them changing this particular criteria. She has credit on 14 #1 songs, and that's not going to change. Asterisk, maybe, or separate list to satisfy the naysayers, perhaps, but that's it. The Beatles will also stand alone with the most impressive record yet...having gotten there 20 #1 singles in only 7 year's....now that's a record!...had the Beatles never broke up and stand together threw the 70's....the #1 singles record would be far out of reach...they would have gotten we'll over 30 #1s.

Does My House have any chance of hitting #1 now? It's still high on Digital Songs and higher than Work on Radio Songs, but below it in Streaming. I know next week Work will almost definitely be #1, but what about the two or three weeks after that?

I knew Work will get to #1 but this fast? WOW! Anyway, it's a catchy song, I had a feeling it will be a hit from first listen unlike American Oxygen, B!tch Better Have My Money and even FourFiveSeconds. And wow Cake By The Ocean hits top 10 Lovin' the chart movements so far 2016!

Rihanna is a good example. She's hit #1 with Britney (if Billboard still counts it), Jay-Z, Eminem, and T.I. And she has appeared in the top 10 with other people. Adding a group requirement changes it, but I can think of Beyonce (solo, Jay Z, DC) and Justin (solo, Jay Z, N Sync) among several others. Eric Clapton hit the top ten by himself and with three groups.

Cake by the Ocean in the top ten. This also makes 9 #1 songs in a row by non-Americans - a record. Anything I can of that may come next is not American too (Bieber, Zayn, Drake, Adele, Lukas Graham).

They weren't looking for her to remake The Grey.

Nice to see Zana Larssen chart.
And wow at Let It Go. Top 40 with that one. I can remember Bay bubbling under with Hold Back the River.

I was copying the Billboard article but anyway,
Eric Clapton would fit this list too.
solo, Derek & The Dominoes and Cream

Wow, so Uptown Funk actually found a way to break out of Recurrent hell, if only for a week. Seriously, that song was cut off WAY too early. I wouldn't be surprised if it had managed 75+ weeks on the chart if the rule had never been made.
Also, ugh. Can something please stop Charlie Puth from getting a top 10 hit? One Call Away really sucks (though not quite as much as that abomination known as Marvin Gaye).

Charlie Puth is the definition of safe, bland, white pop. I'm not surprised he does well. But he still sucks.

I thought I was the only one that was annoyed by the very existence of Charlie Puth. I admit I kinda like his collab with Selena Gomez though.

I know Eric Clapton left The Yardbirds just before "For Your Love" was released, but if he played on the track, wouldn't he still be credited for the top ten hit (#6, 1965)?

I just think it's a nice tune and Charlie isn't straining his voice as he does in some other songs.
