I hope My House passes Love Yourself before NO passes them both. MH deserves a #3 peak.

So the "Starships Record" does not get a new name --- yet. Bieber songs have now tied it (twice), third times a charm looks like. This will be the Love Yourself record soon. Previously, I was 100% sure about LY getting 22 weeks, now I'm 95%. If Airplay starts falling rapidly.... there is a small chance it might miss it (or if there are 1-2 Top-10 debuts). I mean it would to slip HARD. It's at 3 with only 3 weeks left til the record is broken.

I'm pretty sure LY will break the record. Airplay seems to have stabilized, so as long as streaming doesn't utterly collapse, it's gonna stick around. Its one weak point seems to be sales, which has finally started to fall faster than SO's sales, at least on iTunes. Then again, songs have really been freefalling after peaking this year rather than stick around forever like last year, so it could still fail to break the record if that trend continues.
Also, wow, Dangerous Woman only slipped from 10 to 13? That's really not bad considering it doesn't seem to have a radio deal. Maybe it has the viability to be a hit after all.

Love Yourself- 24 weeks in Top 10 prediction Work- 26 weeks PILLOWTALK- 18 weeks (Mediabase gains)
So, eventually, I think it will end up as the "Work" record

This record is becoming intense and high profile! I hope it's included in the 2017 Guinness Book of World Records!
Work deserves to stay at #1 for at least 13 weeks!

#69 Disturbed - Sound of Silence Why is this charting now? Is it being promoted as a single or was it something else?

So even 22 weeks for Work is pretty optimistic

WOW at Hands To Myself longevity! How long has that been in the top 20? 9 Weeks in Top 15, 1 Week in Top 10.

a lot of people, actually Why should they have their wishes granted over the "lot of people" who think it deserves #1 for months! because the chart is (theoretically) based on what's the most popular song based on sales etc. not the few people who are obsessed with it. That being said, it'll be #1 for at least a couple more weeks so don't cry.

That being said, it'll be #1 for at least a couple more weeks so don't cry. If it's consistently selling well, receiving a good amount of airplay, and dominating streaming, then yes it deserves it. Obviously a lot of people like the song or it wouldn't be #1 on the Hot 100 right now and receiving huge streaming numbers. If Work can continue these great numbers then it definitely deserves it

So hold back your tears when it keeps 7 Years from the top. :kii: Werk werk werk werk werk werk

I'm shocked and amazed at how a song as generic and repetitive as this one has been #1 for this many weeks. Quality wise, it doesn't deserve to be #1 at all.

When exactly does a song "deserve" its place on the charts? Unless Billboard's fudging the numbers, anything should deserve to be #1 if it has enough points to get there. Especially with something like Work, which has a decent-sized lead over everything else. I'd rather have 7 years at the top too, but if the general public doesn't accept it in the same way, then oh well.

I think Work is a good song, but if it were up to me it wouldn't have hit #1 at all, much less be there for 6, 7, 8+ weeks. But my view is irrelevant. I don't see how any #1 song can "deserve" to get to the chart's summit any more or less than any other #1 song. It got there which means that (to the best of the general public's knowledge) just like every other #1 it has tallied more points this week than any other song, so of course it deserves to be #1.

it was actually Watch Me (Whip/NaeNae) but I guess that was overlooked because most people here were also complaining about it lol Yeah, because no one likes that garbage song. I do! Watch Me is like a royal feast compared to the sh*t show that was Trap Queen.

Quality has nothing to do with chart positions and longevity. If a large amount of the general public likes the song, it will do well on the charts. Everyone has different tastes in music which results in quality being more of an opinion than a fact

I mean it would to slip HARD. It's at 3 with only 3 weeks left til the record is broken. I know..... Love Yourself will in all probability should get that 22nd week..... but there is a very small chance it doesn't This is the rough projection of points I have for the 22nd week: 1. Work - 37k 2. 7 Years - 35k 3. NO - 32k 4. My House - 27k 5. Love Yourself - 24k 6. Work From Home - 23.5k 7. Me, Myself & I - 23k 8. Stressed Out - 22.5k 9. PILLOWTALK - 22.5k 10. Cake By The Ocean - 22.5k 11. I Took a Pill in Ibiza - 22.5k So if Love Yourself follow normal drops,it will actually be #5 in its 22nd week, but if it crashes for some reason, it might go out of Top-10, as there is not much spread in #6-11 songs. But the chances of that happening are very low. In fact, if Love Yourself holds a bit better, it might even get a 23rd week. So in summary I see the following scenarios for LY's Top-10 run depending on drops: Very Harsh drops - Out of Top-10 in 22nd week Harsh drop - #6-10 in 22nd week, out of Top-10 in 23rd week Normal drop - #5/6 in 22nd week, out of Top-10 in 23rd week Good drop - #5 in 22nd week, #6-10 in 23rd week
