Slay a bit Kurt! I'm genuinely curious now if No can even make it to 20 weeks with how sharp it's plummeting on radio. Streaming isn't really that strong, and with them switching to a new single, it remains to be seen how strong sales can hold on. Very unusual path for a top 3 single.

Yay Drake finally got a #1 as a lead! :) Hoping for JT to debut at #1 - courtesy of the 20 Drake songs preventing him from debuting last week so that it can debut at #1 this week; thanks Drake surely if One Dance sold a lot last week and gained slightly this week and JT had such a big lead over One Dance all week, it has to have over 400k sales. It has to have gotten about 20M streams and will have 80M+ AI on Monday, which is almost 70k points so it should easily be above Panda and One Dance. Go Justin!!! That song is such a bop! :) This is not a top 10 prediction btw, I'm well aware of the rule and separate thread for those. I'm just analyzing the performance of a particular song.

those gains for CSTF are amazing! I agree with what AZ said in the song's thread - I think that the song will compensate for its 8th day effect (which would I guess be tomorrow) in the remaining days of the tracking week and return to approximately its today's AI number by Monday's update

So it looks like all of these views for "The Fighter" are from a facebook video and thus the streams won't count. Why do these teams keep doing that instead of just posting a youtube video on facebook so the streams count? "The Fighters" has over 20 million views, so between streams and its sales it could have had a chance at the top 10. Oh well.

This Variety article from 2014 is interesting and offers at least some possible insight into the why-facebook-and-not-youtube-video question. Seems like it might be a matter of social media exposure/buzz to spike album sales trumping exaggerated chart position for the song. At least that's what I'm thinking. LINK

I can see where it helps Facebook - and maybe there is money involved in making sure a video is a Facebook one - but I don't see why artists can't just upload a youtube video to their facebook and get the exposure. Does Facebook help promote their own videos more?

Does Facebook help promote their own videos more? I think the benefit of a FB video is that it pretty much promotes itself. The autoplay feature is probably very appealing to those seeking maximum exposure as well. I'm not on Facebook, but from what I gather, FB videos spread like wildfire and the view counts explode well beyond that of youtube videos because it's so concentrated. Given that this is an album track during release week, it seems like they were probably just trying to spike album sales with this rather than chart the song. A youtube video probably wouldn't have had the same kind of immediate impact, perhaps.

Oh well. From what I remember, once a Facebook video is played it counts as a view. Videos also auto play on your news feed. For example, yesterday while on Facebook, I was typing in a group chat and on my feed a video that I wasn't looking at and had no intention to look at starting playing. YouTube doesn't play videos until you click on them and even then they won't count a view until a certain amount of the video has been viewed. As for why teams post on FB instead of YT, I believe it is a lot easier to go viral on Facebook then on YouTube. YouTube requires you to tell someone about it or send them a link when on Facebook, you can just share the post, which helps with getting all ages of people. Facebook videos get shared around the site and seen by more people a lot easier. I also heard that when a page posts a video on Facebook, there is a higher chance of that video showing up on someone's News Feed if they like the page than it would for just a post of a YouTube link.

Justin Timberlake Eyes No. 1 Debut on Hot 100 JT's new "Can't Stop the Feeling!" could debut at No. 1, replacing Drake's "One Dance." A heated battle for the Billboard Hot 100 's summit appears set for Monday (May 16), as Justin Timberlake's new single, "Can't Stop the Feeling!," should pose a serious challenge to current leader "One Dance" by Drake (featuring WizKid and Kyla). Based on projected sales provided by industry sources, and streaming and airplay data, collected by Nielsen Music so far in the tracking period, "Feeling," released a week ago (May 6), could blast onto the Hot 100 (dated May 28) at No. 1. Such an arrival would unseat "Dance" after the latter song became Drake's first Hot 100 No. 1 as a lead act on the May 21 chart. "Feeling," written and produced by Timberlake, Max Martin and Shellback and from the forthcoming Trolls soundtrack, could start with a monstrous 330,000 sold or more, while "Dance" could finish the tracking week with 125,000 or more scanned. "Dance," however, holds a wide lead in streaming: more than 30 million vs. more than 10 million for Timberlake so far. Drake's song also leads, although less so, in radio airplay audience over Timberlake's (roughly 60 vs. 50 million).Overall, these preliminary figures suggest a tight race for the Hot 100's summit (with the chart encompassing those three data metrics). The winner, and the entire Hot 100's top 10, will be revealed Monday on Billboard.com.

* CSTF will most probably debut at #1, although it's not entirely guaranteed. If sales end up around 350k then it could be close. * "Needed Me" may enter Top-10 as TIWYCF drops out, but it may well get blocked by Love Yourself.

Let's not forget that Meghan Trainor's new album is out, which could send NØ back to the Top 10.

If Love Yourself gets another week in the top 10, it will have the record for most weeks in the top 10 for songs that debuted in the top 10

The record that LY broke is the "longest consecutive weeks in top 10 after debuting there". The holder for the "most weeks in top 10 for any song that debuts there" is Shake It Off, I think.

Yes. That record was about the word "consecutive". Shake it Off had a 24 week run in the top ten but not consecutive. 24 is the overall record for song debuting in the top ten

I can't believe we are still talking about those records. I hope "LY" hits 30 weeks in the top 10 just so nothing will come close for awhile and I can stop reading about that random record.

There is bo way it will. It's getting old and likely only has enough room for one or two more weeks in the top 10. Did it deserve to break records? No. Am I glad it did? Yepppp.

Yepppp. I don't know about jenglisbe, but that record always got on my nerves because it's so convoluted and bordering on reaching - like, I literally think it is a 'record' that only exists because of a bad combination of Billboard's propensity for pulling random qualifiers out of its ass to make up chart stats that don't mean anything, and a Nicki stan desperately wanting her to have something. Not to take away from the big hits that Starships/LY were, but when you look at the ten songs that spent the most weeks in the top 10, period, they don't even crack the bottom of that list. (For that matter, neither does SIO.) I want so much for this record to die a fast and quiet death.

Uptown Funk came sooo close and missed by just a week.

Yikes at that 16.2 drop for JT due to the 8 day effect... It's a great hold, though? A week ago: 39. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - Can't Stop The Feeling: 33.191 (+31.749)
