Obviously it's different for each song, but what is a good general rule for the % of YouTube views as far as US vs outside the US?

Predictions: Rank | Song | Sales | Airplay | Streams | Points | 1 | One Dance | 90 | 160 | 22.0 | 44,300 | 2 | Can't Stop The Feeling | 125 | 165 | 11.5 | 40,000 | 3 | Panda | 60 | 70 | 29.0 | 37,800 | 4 | Don't Let Me Down | 70 | 125 | 15.0 | 32,800 | 5 | Work From Home | 50 | 85 | 14.0 | 25,700 | 6 | This is What You Came For | 70 | 80 | 10.0 | 24,100 | 7/8 | Needed Me | 30 | 55 | 16.0 | 22,200 | 7/8 | Don't Mind | 40 | 75 | 12.0 | 22,000 | 9/10 | Cheap Thrills | 65 | 65 | 9.0 | 21,200 | 9-11 | I Took A Pill in Ibiza | 35 | 85 | 10.5 | 21,100 | 10/11 | Just Like Fire | 70 | 85 | 5.5 | 20,900 | 12 | 7 Years | 35 | 80 | 10.5 | 20,600 |
* CSTF finally looks to get the #2 spot (thanks to Panda having a large decline in points). * There isn't much separation between #7-12 so predicting exact positions would be difficult, but it looks like both "Don't Mind" and "Cheap Thrills" (Yay!) will be able to enter Top-10. * Hopefully ITAPII is able to get one last week in Top-10, but JLF also has a shot. "7 Years" will most probably fall out of Top-10 due to large declines across all metrics. Damn at 7 Years falling off so quickly... That's a huge jump down... Do you guys think DLMD could reach the top 3 with Panda declining? I really don't want it to join my list of songs I personally like that peaked at #4 since last summer (SUAD, Lean On, 679, Stitches, My House, ITAPII, I might have missed one or two) That's a good question. DLMD should overtake Panda in about 3 weeks time..... but by that time there is a good chance that TIWYCF overtakes DMLD.

Any word on the "One Dance" video? So weird. Actually... this time I think Drake's team is playing things right. Right now there is no threat to One Dance for at least 2-3 weeks and it will easily be #1..... so my guess would be that the video is released sometime in the first half of July.

Although it grew on me a bit lately, I don't think JLF is that great personally. I still can't believe F**kin' Perfect never reached #1 :/ I remember it jumped 11-2 or something and seemed like a guaranteed #1 but somehow stalled after that and never ascended to the pinnacle from there. I still think that's her best song. I don't either, which makes its success more notable - even more impressive - for me. It bodes well for Pink's upcoming album/singles. I'm excited. Me too. I'm glad that she's back. P!nk has always been unique in a certain way with her music. Not sure how to describe it. She's definitely been slightly more rock-influenced in a lot of her songs than others, which helps. But anyway, I hope she has successful hits coming up.

But no one will care by then. It's going to peak in airplay soon and sales and streaming will follow suit. That's a pretty bold statement to say no one will care. Big hit songs like this one often have very long shelf lives these days - lasting 20 weeks easily (sometimes even just in the top 10 alone), usually 30 or even 40+ weeks to a year sometimes on the Hot 100 and tomorrow's chart will only be its 11th week. I don't for one second think the majority of listeners (or his fanbase) are going to stop caring about this particular song or lose desire to see the video anytime soon. And like I've said before and Ravi said... they are playing things right this time - holding off and giving this thing a monstrous stay at #1 and effectively making up for past shortcomings. The whole point - it seems - is for the video to counter any lost airplay/streaming/sales to extend its life at #1, since it still doesn't need the video points. It may seem odd from a more traditional point of view, but it seems even more odd to me that some of us aren't on board with the strategy given this particular situation. There's really no risk involved as its already been lodged at #1. I can't think of one downside to this. Not one. But clearly there's a divide about this amongst us Pulsers, because it keeps getting mentioned.... so we can all agree to disagree. I really really think Drake and his team will have the last laugh here, but we shall see.

Why do Needed Me and Work have such a difference here when they come from the very same artist? Likely because Needed Me is a US only single while Work was released WW? Also the fact that sometimes it takes longer for a song/video to get big overseas, and songs that are considered "old" for Americans will still be in the top 10 worldwide.

It's actually usually the other way around Maybe so, but I've been noticing it more and more lately. Recently, Cake by the Ocean went top 10 in the UK, Stitches was a multi week topper in the winter there, and Fight Song went top 10 in Japan, in a year where very few overseas songs have even cracked top 20.

I really really think Drake and his team will have the last laugh here, but we shall see. Well the only downside I can think of is the loss of profit from video views. The longer they wait, the more revenue is lost. But it's clear they'd rather have the #1 ranking than more money. They are easily making lots of money on this song regardless. So that's my theory.

SPRΞΞ And that's assuming there's a loss of interest. Talking about how there's a loss of interest is funny, because if there was truly loss of interest, it wouldn't keep getting mentioned.... repeatedly. I'd bet on strong views when it does come out, regardless of when. Even if its Apple exclusive for a week or whatever. Potentially viral.

The video? I'm only seeing interest in the video being posted here, a music forum where people follow music more closely than your average person. I just don't see the video getting as much attention as more and more people get burnt out on the song. Then there's other examples where the video came out late and few people cared. "Feeling Myself" comes to mind immediately. Or "Panda."
From a business standpoint, holding off makes no sense. I'd rather the video be out there throughout most of the song's run to gain as much money from it as possible. The longer you hold out, the more people are going to get sick of the song or forget about it.

The fact that One Dance isn't on YouTube at all might be why its audio streaming is so high

After debuting at No. 1 on the Hot 100 five weeks ago, becoming just the 26th single to start at the summit in the chart's history, Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling!" rebounds 3-2. It spends a sixth week at No. 1 on Digital Songs (124,000, down 10 percent), becoming his longest-leading No. 1 on the ranking, passing "SexyBack," which led for five weeks in 2006. "Feeling" also sets a new personal best for Timberlake at radio: it's the most-heard song on U.S. airwaves, logging a third week at No. 1 on Radio Songs with 163 million in audience (up 3 percent); that marks Timberlake's best weekly audience for a song, passing the 159 million that "Mirrors" drew at its peak (June 22, 2013). "Feeling" also tops the Pop Songs and Adult Pop Songs genre airplay charts for a third week each. Hitting a career high after 20 years in the game.
