I don't and won't understand how Uptown funk, thinking out loud, sugar, want you to want me and shut up and dance are still in the top 75 airplay. All these artists have released one to three singles since and none of those singles took off because people held on to these. It's sad. Not only airwaves for iTunes but people are still streaming these too often. How can you not be sick of them or for those still buying these songs over 2 yrs after release stuns me. You cant tell me you just discovered this song. Unless you were hidden in a dungeon rubbing lotion on your skin.

Maybe for the same reason you're still listening to the same 80s songs you call your all time favs.

Once again keep your comments to yourself unless you have info pertaining to my post. It DOES pertain to your post, does it not? He answered your question with a very reasonable response. Those particular songs people just really enjoy on a large scale and their follow singles just weren't as well received. People still want to hear them because they still like them and prefer them to other hits. Much like you continuously keep reminding us that you like 80s music and prefer it to today. And it's fine that you do, but to keep putting down today's music over and over in some attempt to justify your music taste needs to stop.

I was not putting down today's music in the recent posts. I am simply asking the same type of questions I've seen time and again by others Yes I like 80s music, but it's not on constant rotation. If had my own chart it would change so drastically every week because I never listen to the same song twice in a week's time. I know 43 is old queen to most of you, but it's called experienced since you all wanna keep bringing up that I'm so old.

That's great that you don't overplay songs and if you had a chart it would be constantly changing, but that, as you said, would be YOUR chart. This is the chart of the majority, not one individual and so it will reflect the interests and listening habits of the majority. You might not understand it (for example, I will never get the success of Panda, 10+ week #1 love for Blurred Lines or how Stitches is still on so much), but that doesn't matter to the charts. Enjoy the music you want to and wait for a chart that reflects how you feel instead of constantly complaining (I agree with some of what you're saying but it gets annoying when I see it all the time) :)

I was responding to your post...? Even if you have millions of people who follow the same personal guideline as you regarding listening to songs bi-weekly rather than daily, you're still going to get massive overlap that will cause some songs to just stick around. I can't listen to even my all-time favourite songs more than once in a day and avoid listening to them for days after - unless it's brand new and I'm really into it. Though I know everyone else differs, obviously. Seriously, if you even bothered to give anything any thought rather than just bitching about it and being rude. You might be sick of the old comments, and everyone else is sick of you constantly ragging on this generation's music even when points are given explaining why charts are the way they are. If anything gets old, it's that.

You're right, I'm going to try to refrain from commenting on the issue from now :) I think that's probably a good idea and I'm with you - since it's apparently a never ending stooooorrrrryyyyy... Ah ah ah, ah ah ah, ah ah ah... In terms of today's glorious Hot 100 of popular songs.... I'm incredibly impressed by Just Like Fire's success. I admittedly would have lost my ass on a bet over it when it first came out.

...is this not a discussion board? Yes but..to discuss what? " Westlife's" posting style? or anticipation of the 7/2/2016 Hot 100 that is due out next week? One is related to the thread topic, the other is not.

The people quoting and commenting that troll are doing so because they want to get back to actual discussion. Westlife is littering the thread with constant complaints that add nothing to the discussion and belittle other users. That warrants a discussion regardless of topic. Essentially, if you post stupid shit, people will call you out.

Essentially, if you post stupid s**t, people will call you out. He doesn't like certain music, you don't either. Don't comment on it if you don't like it, the 'report' button sometimes helps too. Discussing his posting style adds nothing to the discussion either and does nothing but clutter this thread.
I personally think this thread should not even exist until next Monday when the initial chart data is revealed, since it is -- so be it. In the meantime, maybe we could find something relevant to talk about until the chart data comes out next week?
