I just have this strong feeling the second single is "Whole Lotta Woman." I can't explain why, but that's just what my gut is telling me is going to happen. Logic is telling me it's "Heat," but...
Also, I'd be so here for a Kelly & Alicia duet.

I listened to the album on the bus to work this morning as break in my Kylie marathon.
At this point, I'm #TeamAnything. I don't expect her to have knockout CHR/Pop success and the album is so strong she should easily have HAC/AC and maybe even Urban AC success with future single choices. The only spot that loses my attention is the Slow Dance/Don't You Pretend segment. They sound similar and it drags down the energy. She could've cut "Slow Dance" and the album would be perfect.

"Didn't I"! It sounds like a lot like "Love So Soft" but it is more uptempo and its chorus sticks harder. It would make a lot of sense as a single if they relaunch the album with The Voice! I always thought it would be a single, but later down the line.

God I hope they don't go with WLW. That would be a worse choice than "Invincible" last era. Even as a Southerner, the lyrics about grits, warm biscuits, and Mama's supper are so cringeworthy. I could possibly see it being a modest hit just for how strange it would sound next to everything else on radio and the body image aspect of the song, but I'd be so embarrassed every time she would perform it. I'm still hoping they'll choose the singles from among Medicine, Heat, MoL, WYCTL, or Go High.

I think any combination of - Medicine, Heat, Meaning of Life, Would You Call That Love, Didn’t I, I Don’t Think About You - would be golden. They are all flawless choices IMO. Cruel and Go High aren’t problematic either, the way I think Move You and Whole Lotta Woman absolutely would be.

I'm ready for the second-guessing and 20/20 hindsight third-guessing posts. Let Me Down was the One Sweet Day of 2012 that never was etc. etc.

Lol at you guys even considering WLW. It's a fun song, and will be in for her to perform on tour, but that's where it should stay. If LSS didn't catch, no way in hell WLW does either. Nothing on this album will really light up CHR, so she needs a HAC/AC hit next. Her realistic choices are: Move You, Heat, Don't You Pretend, Go High, or Would You Call That Love. I'll never understand how she can't get a big name duet on her album. Piece By Piece got John Legend but he's not on the level of Bruno or Ed or Sam or Chris Martin (Coldplay). All freaking Atlantic artists so it can't be label politics. At the very least if not a duet then a collab/production. Hell, throw Cardi B onto Get High and give us an urban smash bish. Her release strategies have been so damn vanilla for the longest time. Something's obviously not clicking no matter her talent and public/peer respect. It's not translating into sales. Yeah the people suggesting a female empowerment song that's both congruous with her body image, brand, long running themes of empowerment, the feminist pop culture movement of the moment, that she performs live better than any other, has the novelty/message factor that a middlingly performing campaign might need to attract attention, is more of an absurd 'lol'able prospect than getting Cardi damn B to jump on a record with her. I know you've posited that Kelly should just pluck any old hip hop artist and plonk them on her records, you know for "the cred", like they're dancing minstrels who'll show everybody what a cool Mom Kelly is at the cookouts, but it's fantasy. By your own admission in your own same post it's fantasy, so spinning us yarns and laughing at well thought out, reconciled commonalities is boring. Notice (you probably won't have), that nobody suggesting Whole Lotta Woman has said it's their preferred song in terms of their personal tastes. Much of the rationale as come with the caveats that it's a begrudging admission; that people can see past their faves!&^&!! and rather than play Record Label Tycoon and preach about what's realistic and what isn't while suggesting that Kelly just go on The Breakfast Club to sell her album, they have concluded that something outside of their individual preference and initial instinct might be the better next step despite those things. Gosh, imagine. But yes never mind, Don't You Pretend feat. Offset, Kodie Shane and Remy Ma coming to smash our radios next weeek !!zxz!2 Lol you always have something negative to say about my posts, probably because our opinions are never in line. Not even gonna argue about it, we will have to just wait and see. And no I didn't say anything about adding a rapper to all of those songs. Go High is the only one that it is suitable for. Don't know why you find that so far fetched. Dark Horse and Bad Blood say hi. I can't believe she has yet to collab with a rapper actually. I'd love to see her mix it up in that regard. Always thought she'd sound good with Eminem. Oh and look, she actively wants to collab with rappers like Kendrick Lamar. How foreign and unusual it would be for a Go High remix...

I think the song I want to see as a single most atm is either Medicine, Whole Lotta Woman, or Don't You Pretend
Though I still am one with this whole record so any song is a viable single opt to me

I'd so be down for her to do a track with Missy Missy is one of my favorite rappers of all time mainly because of her fun carefree style + iconic jams/music videos

I cannot be the only one who skips WLW every time it comes on. I don't know if it's the fact that I'm a Minnesota boy or what, but that song is wayyyyyy too cheesy for Kelly to release. I literally don't even care how well it would do. It is so different from the rest of the album too, it is not a good representation of the album as a whole. Plus the fact that it's been performed during some high profile events (New Years, Carpool Karaoke, late night, etc.) and still hasn't done anything makes me think that it wouldn't do much of anything if it did get single treatment.
Keep that whole lotta crap outta here when we have masterpieces like Heat, Medicine, WYCTL, IDTAY, Cruel, Didn't I, MOL, DYP, GH, MY, SD, A Minute, a rerelease of LSS, going back to Stronger and releasing YLM, literally anything but WLW.

I feel like WLW embodies everything that I would normally not like in a song lyrically, and yet I freaking love it. It's just such a fun song.
As for features...idk, I'd just have to hear the song and the feature to know how I feel about it. A Missy or Logic collab seems natural; a Kendrick or Jay one, not so much? But who knows, I could be totally wrong about that. I'm thinking she did not want a feature on MOL, b/c Atlantic has been really good about making sure she realizes all of her career desires. But I expect to see a feature or two on the next one.
I am so in love with her playlist.

Cool to see her put the Chainsmokers on her playlist. She should totally collab with them too. I can see her doing something in the vein of Something Just Like This actually.

"I Don't Think About You" is the next single. I WILL say that this is a much better complement to her stint on The Voice since she doesn't spend a third of the song mumbling in her lower range.

Well... that's not what I was expecting. But I'm relieved that it's not "WLW."

Smart to keep Heat/Medecine for the summer. Happy with this choice. This could also mean they’ll be pushing something else to another format.

IDTAY sounds like vintage Mariah. IDK if it'll work... but we'll see.
