she hyped it up like it was Bad Romance 2 and we got something closer to Judah 2, quality wise She didn't "hype" it. She revealed what it was and people ran with it. Apparently everything she does is faulty. true, let me restate that. The Little monsters hyped the song to Born This Way levels and were let down. Just like the general audience. |

how is "broccoli" not top ten? s**t is everywhere I don't see how Broccoli is not in top 10 while Needed Me is (well, obviously Needed Me has more points, but I mean popularity-wise). |

The lack of hype from the time it was announced until it actually came out was almost concerning as a Gaga fan myself. I'm definitely seeing more about the song from random writers and places now that it's out and has had time to settle than I did beforehand. Depends on who you ask I suppose. In any case, if you're a fan of anyone, you're definitely going to be excited when they announce a new album or single. Maybe the key is to never listen to any artist's hardcore stanbase. |

And then there's people like me who have no idea what "Broccoli" sounds like. :) Your personal bubble may not be reflective of the country as a whole. I'm sure there are people in Oklahoma who would be confounded that big country songs aren't higher on the charts based on what they hear around them. |

As a more casual Gaga fan, I can say PI does nothing for me. There's just no real hook to the song...she's belting it out but there isn't much of a melody. Her theatrics here seem out of place. And that stomping 4-on-the-floor beat sounds dated now. Of course she's still a star and always will be but it feels like she's out of touch with current pop trends. Moving into acting and theater and keeping her core fan base (while leaving the pop charts behind) will probably be her goal going forward. My initial reaction was "this sounds like theme song from an off-Broadway Pet Benatar one-woman show" Pet Benatar!! Whose pet is it? |

I hope the video hasn't been released. Releasing it on a Thursday night would probably be much smarter in terms of the charts. But hey, if the video slays the streaming chart (yes I'm using that terminology) like Sorry did, it might not matter (unless the video for Closer gets released within the next few days as well)
