Are Frank and Nancy Sinatra the only parent and offspring to hit the top 10 at the same time?

Does "Last Christmas" have a shot at climbing/spending a second week on the chart?

Why is "24K Magic" suddenly selling so well again? It's too bad its sales and airplay never quite aligned (or more so that airplay topped out so quick).

Will the top 10 be revealed on Tuesday again because New Years is observed tomorrow?

Well considering Bad and Boujee will be the first number one of 2017, we're starting off the year with an L.

Yeah, don't know why it took people almost 15 years to realize that though. ??? Spotify was launched 8 years ago and only came to the US 5 years ago. And it wasn't until fairly recently when they got a good database of music. Yes, YouTube has been around for longer, but the quality isn't the same, there wasn't nearly the widespread availability of Wi-Fi/cellular data/Internet availability/Internet speed that there is now, and nothing until Spotify really had all of the personalization owning your own music does. Even with digital sales, it took time to become a popular medium. The iTunes Store started in 2003, but digital sales really never became the popular way to consume music until 06/07. It takes time for people to realize something else is out there. They're not industry watchers like you and I. Change just takes time. Rhapsody, one of the first music streaming/subscription services, was founded in 2001 (then as listen.com). I signed up for it in January 2003, and other smaller services were founded around then or shortly after. While you are right in that its catalog was limited and there were speed/mobility restrictions, I remember I was able to find most mainstream/popular artists at that time and it did actually have many of the features that something like Spotify has today (which I eventually switched over to), such as playlist creation and radio stations. I guess because these services were tiny and just starting up, mass marketing was also a problem, though I do remember seeing at least a fair number of ads for Rhapsody - it caught my attention, and I was not at all a close follower of music then.

Are Frank and Nancy Sinatra the only parent and offspring to hit the top 10 at the same time? For separate hits probably. Although not quite parent/offspring Shirley Jones(stepmom) & David Cassidy hit the top 10 a few times in the early 70s in the Partridge Family. (Of course Frank & Nancy hit #1 together too)

I thought we were better than this America lol. Fun Fact - only 600k Spotify streams of it are NOT from the US.

I guess because these services were tiny and just starting up, mass marketing was also a problem, though I do remember seeing at least a fair number of ads for Rhapsody - it caught my attention, and I was not at all a close follower of music then. True, Rhapsody was one of the first streaming services, but it was too far ahead of its time and failed because of it. It was just too niche of a service that couldn't really take hold until the technology caught up. I mean, sure the technology was there, but it was either too expensive for or unable to reach the vast majority of people. Spotify saw the opportunity coming and striked at just the right time to grab the foothold first and become the audio streaming king as the advancements in technology rendered audio streaming profitable. Of course, video streaming took off first with Netflix, but that one makes sense to come first since usually you aren't moving around watching a movie, so reliable internet for video streaming is easier to set up. Audio, on the other hand, is much more difficult since most people don't sit down in one spot to listen to music. They want it on the go, and it wasn't until recently that a large amount of people were able to have internet on the go, allowing for audio streaming to take over. And the crazy thing is, it has nowhere to go but up from here. There's still so many parts of the world, and even this country, where reliable internet isn't a thing yet, but once it reaches there, streaming will grow even larger. There's also people who have the reliability, but still just simply don't know they can stream music in mass quantities legally. And you'd be surprised just how many people like that there are. Marketing for anything will never be able to reach everybody.

Closer is massive. We haven't had this massive of a song since Uptown Funk (See You Again, Hello, and One Dance all died off early).

It should be noted with "Hello" that its first 3-4 weeks at #1 are equivalent to nearly 10-12 weeks at #1 for a typical song due to insanely MASSIVE points, which in turns hurts its longevity.

That's incredible. I was born in early Summer '89 and that essentially starts around the time of my earliest memories.

Does "Last Christmas" have a shot at climbing/spending a second week on the chart? George's death should help it out, but after Christmas people are sick of christmas songs, so I predict that it will remain more stable than the other Christmas songs.
