Nah, I don't mind Closer. It's an okay song in my opinion. It's just that I don't think it's that fantastically fantastic to be even close to breaking these all-time records. When I think of songs like Uptown Funk and Smooth and Foolish Games and other record-breaking Hot 100 songs I think "oh woahhh, these incredible masterpieces!". When I think of Closer it's like "well yeah this is good, I'll listen but nothing special".
Agree about the song but I understand the hate, it's typical for a long running one plus The Chainsmokers became douchebags after the success of the song so that added more animosity towards the song. I dislike them now but I like their song, just like how
