I’m really excited about this release! I’m gonna listen to her other albums today. (and tomorrow) I didn’t know she has albums with over 20 tracks!

Does she have any collaborations with female artists? I don't know her super deep cuts as well, but it does seem like every feature or co-lead has never been with another woman (if I'm remembering correctly).

Only songs with another female artist she had is Heavy Crown with Iggy Azalea She also has a cover of James Blake's song Life Round Here with Angel Haze but it was only uploaded to her YouTube channel years ago but wasn't put up anywhere else as far as I know

This bitch is so triflin' though, when I stop to think about it. She could have pulled a Selena Gomez and made a deluxe/Target version with those loosies that don't fit the rest of the album, slapped a cute $12.99 price tag on it and called it a day. What does she do instead? She calls it a "double album" so she can charge a double album price for 4 extra songs that she will look back on with disdain like she did her highest-acclaimed album Delirium plus an interlude or something. I'll still buy it, though. Looks like Target has the cheapest version, if they actually decide to carry it.

Walmart likes to sell clean/edited CDs in stores rather than the explicit version. For "Delirium", Walmart sold the edited version. Walmart does sell explicit CDs in stores but it’s rare. I have been looking for the edited version UPC for this album but I have yet to find it, this may mean there weren’t any edited CDs made. Also, if Walmart was going to sell the explicit version in their stores, Walmart would have gotten shipment by now. For "Chromatica", on the Wednesday, before it was released, the Walmart stores near me changed from "Unknown" for the in-store availability to "Limited Stock", meaning that they received the shipment for the CD. I also looked up the explicit UPC on brickseek.com and there was no MSRP. I guess we just have to wait until Friday to see... And no, this won’t be in any Kroger’s, this isn’t "1989" by Taylor Swift.

So it leaked. I don't listen to leaks but this is what someone on Reddit had to say about it:
"I’m low-key emotional after listening to the leak. It’s actually amazing, and I’m diehard Lights/Halcyon who has felt Delirium onwards has been off.
This, to me is a return to full form. Just feels authentic. It feels like her again.
Start, How Deep is too Deep, Cyan, Love I’m Given, Ode to Myself, Woman, Wine Drunk, Bleach, Brightest Blue are just SO awesome. Echoes of Frank Ocean, Banks, Lana, Weeknd (and other elements in there) and it just feels like Ellie as an artist is back again for me.
Basically the whole of side 1 is vintage Ellie, bar Power and Tides which I’m not hot on (could change though).
So fresh and new, but still the Ellie I love and thought I’d lost. 😢♥️ This has made me so happy, seriously.
It’s authentic, well crafted... it’s art."
Halcyon is by far my favourite of her albums; I don't skip a track. So I'm hoping it really is like a return to form.

‘Halcyon’ was my best friend for a year. I was in elementary school when it came out and in a heavy depressive episode. I would lay in bed whimpering the title track’s hook, “it’s gonna be better, it’s gonna be”, over and over. It was the first CD I ever owned. If this album is anywhere near as good as that, I already know it will make me cry.
Ellie is also how I got introduced to another one of my favorite artists, Kate Bush. My mom said, “oh, she sounds like Kate Bush” once while walking past my room, so I played all of the iTunes previews of Hounds of Love and got hooked on “Cloudbusting”.

I was obsessed with Delirium and I still love it. It's a great pop record. However, what she said sounds true. It's not a 100% Ellie Goulding album.
Can't wait to listen to this one!

My broke ass can't afford an album that charges $20 for 18 tracks. I'll probably just stream a few more rounds once it's out officially to support her. Speaking of which, Delirium (Deluxe) is on heavy discount now ($6.99) on iTunes.

Halcyon was an album that was in the right place at the right time for me. I don't feel as strongly when I listen to it now like I did then - and I hate that I've lost that joy from it. I have to be in the exact right mindset to get the most from it. With that said, maybe this new album can somehow re-create that. Those initial responses upped my excitement for it a bit more!

Halcyon and Bright Lights were both really good albums so I'm excited to listen to this
Just started the album Start is a great pretty intro, "You f**k with me, I'll start a war" is a moment The transition into Power is great placement, currently at Power and it strings together nicely so far with Start
My expectations are high now for the rest of the album.
ETA 1: How Deep Is Too Deep is AMAZING ETA 2: Love I'm Given and New Heights are ace, she's baaack

Finished the album Really good, side 1 of course is the real strength. It all flows together very well
It honestly might be my favorite from her lyrically and cohesively.

And Mateo is the best song on Sunshine Kitty so

Now listening to Delirium, and I don't understand the hate it gets. It signaled a downfall in interest for Ellie but I don't think it should be disregarded as a whole. "Something in the Way You Move" remains a bop. (I'm only at track 3 lol) Halcyon Days was also one of my first physical albums! I believe I have a copy of Delirium as well, and I just might get her new album to join the crew ;)

There's a deluxe version on YouTube Music with "Sixteen" as the 19th track.

How Deep Is Too Deep Brightest Blue Ode to Myself Woman Flux Slow Grenade Love I'm Given Start
This is a very strong album in my opinion. I had low hope coming in and left stunned by its emotional depth. I'll probably substitute "Tides" with "Slow Grenade" and add "Sixteen" but it is pretty much filler-free based on first listen. Also, I need a longer version of "Ode to Myself"!

How Deep Is Too Deep still owns my ass Though the whole record is really good
I really like that this is the first album where a lot of focus is on her vocals and lyrics, though the production on the album is great as well
Her voice shines and a lot of emotion feels evoked, I honestly think this is her most personal record yet

This is strong, gives me major Halcyon vibes. And just as suspected, Side A is where it's at. Lyrically, vocally, production-wise, she's so on point. The only song that doesn't fully grab me is "Woman." But it is pretty and there's no need to skip it in context of the album really. I played "Power" the f**k out when it first dropped, so I had to take a break from it. As soon as it started, I was like DAMN, I almost forgot how epic it is. My most played pop song so far this year. My only quibble, I feel like this might be her clunkiest album melodically. There are so many moments where I feel like she's stumbling through verses or forcing words or phrases in, which makes some of the transitions from verse to pre-chorus/chorus awkward. But there's never a moment where it's a song killer. There's something about "New Heights" that immediately grabbed a hold of me. My favorite album track so far. Those strings are incredible and it flows into "Ode To Myself" beautifully (I wish that were a full song, ARGH). That triplet of slower songs at the end is so good too. The chorus to "Brightest Blue" is a moment.
As for EG.0, people wanna talk about Chromatica II into 911, we need to talk about Overture into "Worry About Me." They did the absolute MOST on that one, not gonna lie, I laughed out loud the first time. But it really is a gorgeous intro. I like all of the songs on here ("Slow Grenade" finally grew on me), but I get why she separated them out. They make a cute EP, but they didn't belong on the album proper.

I didn't really care for this, tbh. It does have its moments, though! Power, How Deep Is Too Deep, Bleach, Flux, and Brightest Blue are the gems. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I also enjoy Slow Grenade, Close to Me, Hate Me, and Sixteen and will likely gravitate towards those more than the main album as they all ages.
Oddly enough, I don't like Worry About Me, but not only did it sound better in album context, that transition from Overture to it is exquisite and rivals Chromatica II to 911.

This album seems so much more Ellie than "Delirium". I have had it playing in the background, but look forward to really listening later.

Shocked that when I ordered this and The (Dixie) Chicks from Target, they were available for me to pick up this afternoon. For once, I haven't even listened to clips and I have listened to Power only once. Don't remember anything about it, so I am excited! I am really only familiar with CLOOOOSE TO MEEEEE! and Hate Me, so this is gonna feel fresh!

I like most of this well enough? Much prefer Delirium.
Also, I’m definitely after whatever version of this album has Overture and Worry About Me as the first two tracks.

This is definitely a return to form for her. I loved Delirium but I think I love Brightest Blue more. It's very cohesive and is an Ellie Goulding album through and through.
