3 top ten "re-entries" in chart history Not Ready To Make Nice #4, Control Myself #4, I Will Always Love You #7 Cruise re-entered at 8. Also, Katy's new single is a disappointment.

Madonna has 38 Top 10 Hits, so she'd be most likely to have that record you mention. Looking at her albums and their top 10s: Madonna: Lucky Star, Borderline Like a Virgin: Like a Virgin, Material Girl, Angel, Dress You Up True Blue: Live to Tell, Papa Don't Preach, True Blue, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita Who's That Girl OST: Who's That Girl, Causing a Commotion Like a Prayer: Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Cherish, Keep It Together I'm Breathless OST: Vogue, Hanky Panky Immaculate Collection: Justify My Love, Rescue Me Erotica: Erotica, Deeper and Deeper Bedtime Stories: Secret, Take a Bow Something to Remember: You'll See Evita OST: Don't Cry For Me Argentina Ray of Light:Β Frozen, Ray of Light Music: Music, Don't Tell Me Confessions on a Dance Floor: Hung Up Hard Candy: 4 Minutes MDNA: Give Me All Your Lovin' Crazy for You came from the Vision Quest OST,Β This Used to be My Playground was featured in A League of Their Own but not on the OST, I'll Remember was from the With Honors OST, Die Another was from the Die Another Day OST So according to my count that'd be 16. What's your 17th album? I think everyone counts American Life as Die Another Day was on it. Yeah I was counting that. You could asterisk it if you want, but considering it was also in the track list and consistent with the album sound it doesn't quite feel like a tacked on song.

Anyone have any clue how well Katy is doing? She's currently #3 on iTunes and has been getting considerable airplay traction. Katy had a radio deal yesterday so she is doing well. UKMIx: KATY PERRY - Chained To The Rhythm: 28.724 (+28.085) Spins: AC 32 HAC 914 RHY 47 Top40 2145 = 3138

I think it's way too soon to write this off just yet. We've seen countless lead singles by big names not peak in their first week of release. It for sure could turn into a hit, but that wasn't what I was addressing.

Otherwise Die Another Day would be referred to as the first single from the album, not American Life.

It's very nice to see MR will be reaching the top 10, would be even nicer if it stayed around in the top 40 for a while. Same with the album, I really hope they don't drop back down like a rock. God, wouldn't it be nice if this album and her career could be relaunched.

How is the Chainsmokers still in the top 5 with closer and another re entering top 10 hit with paris while Katy, Gaga and Britney are struggling Probably the same reason why Gaga was having back-to-back Top 10s in 2009-10 while Jennifer Lopez and Nelly struggled. Or why Nelly had massive success in 2002 while George Michael struggled. etc. etc

^ They might, but generally artists have their 15 seconds of fame and then either stop releasing music or people are desensitized by it. Look at the backstreet boys; ultimate worldwide domination in late 90s/early 2000s, now they can barely chart.

No, I'm not saying they "will" have another big hit someday. But I'm not saying they definitely won't have one either. There's always a possibility that Jennifer Lopez will score a huge hit with Sean Paul, for example, or G-Eazy. Or Nelly has another comeback. Or someone remixes a George Michael song that takes off. Nothing is absolute. It always surprises me when the implication is there that so-and-so is done forever or that such-and-such is guaranteed to have #1s for decades to come.

I mean she already lasted longer in the mainstream than Gaga. What I'm saying is different artists are different cases and the pattern doesn't always apply.

Yeah, the pattern barely ever applies, or at least it sways in different ways for everyone. Rihanna is definitely an anomaly but just because she's been consistent since 2005 doesn't mean she's going to keep going either. Her next album could be the flop everyone has been waiting for

However, she has shown Madonna-like consistency, frequency and longevity in terms of chart impact.

Good for Gaga. If you count Fame Monster as an album, this means she's had top tens from 5 albums. I'd say all her albums but then there's Cheek to Cheek... It's a random stat, but I wonder who's had the most albums that have a top ten song? My guess would be Madonna who has 17 by my count. Madonna has 38 Top 10 Hits, so she'd be most likely to have that record you mention. Looking at her albums and their top 10s: Madonna: Lucky Star, Borderline Like a Virgin: Like a Virgin, Material Girl, Angel, Dress You Up True Blue: Live to Tell, Papa Don't Preach, True Blue, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita Who's That Girl OST: Who's That Girl, Causing a Commotion Like a Prayer: Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Cherish, Keep It Together I'm Breathless OST: Vogue, Hanky Panky Immaculate Collection: Justify My Love, Rescue Me Erotica: Erotica, Deeper and Deeper Bedtime Stories: Secret, Take a Bow Something to Remember: You'll See Evita OST: Don't Cry For Me Argentina Ray of Light: Frozen, Ray of Light Music: Music, Don't Tell Me Confessions on a Dance Floor: Hung Up Hard Candy: 4 Minutes MDNA: Give Me All Your Lovin' Crazy for You came from the Vision Quest OST, This Used to be My Playground was featured in A League of Their Own but not on the OST, I'll Remember was from the With Honors OST, Die Another was from the Die Another Day OST So according to my count that'd be 16. What's your 17th album? Prince is probably in the top ten of that list, since he released new albums so frequently during the 80s and 90s instead of mining countless singles from one album. 1999: Little Red Corvette, Delirious Purple Rain: When Doves Cry, Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain, I Would Die 4 U Around The World In A Day: Raspberry Beret, Pop Life Parade: Kiss Sign 'O' The Times: Sign 'O' The Times, U Got The Look, I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man Lovesexy: Alphabet St. Batman: Batdance Graffiti Bridge: Thieves In The Temple Diamonds And Pearls: Cream, Diamonds And Pearls O(+>: 7 The Gold Experience: The Most Beautiful Girl In The World That's 19 top ten Hot 100 singles from 11 different albums. I think Mariah has top tens from 12 different albums so she's just behind Madonna. Elvis and the Beatles are certainly up there, but many of their hits didn't appear on proper studio albums. Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Rod Stewart probably rank up there too.

"Die Another Day" was always intended to be on the American Life album. So, while it wasn't the lead single that kicked off the album promotion (which became a mess anyhow, with the pulled video), it could be regarded as a top 10 from the album.

I have deep hope for a surprise music video premiere during or after Grammys. IFIC, WUTB, maybe CTTR? We will probably get nothing but hey you can always have hope.

May as well include her Greatest Hits albums too then.

^Bad Things is #1 at Top 40 radio, but it's losing spins.
Adele peaked at #18 and is losing spins.

As I expected, Shape of You will be #1 in Radio Songs this week. The only other songs really rising in kworb's radio update Top 10 are I Don't Wanna Live Forever, Love on the Brain and I Feel It Coming. Since the gap between them and Shape of You appears to be quite large and Shape of You continues to rise, I can the latter be at #1 in Radio for many weeks. Once it reaches its peak audience, we could probably get an idea of when I Don't Wanna Live Forever could catch it, unless, of course, the latter his its peak before that happens.
