I've gone back to this album and it's actually even stronger than I realized. Really feeling Wicked Love and Eyes on Me, which I kinda ignored before. I will just pretend the album starts with No Such Thing. But, there is SO much subtle production work requiring a good pair of headphones throughout this album. T-Bone REALLY did his thing and brought out the best in her vocals, as well. He can stay. Wicked Love especially has a lot of things going on production-wise beneath the surface, but everything is out of the way for Sara's vocals. I think this album is one of the best of the year, so far. Orpheus almost brings me to tears. I know that Sara is recognized for her talent and has had a couple hits and accolades and Grammy noms and Broadway acclaim, but I still feel she is massively underrated somehow. Wicked Love, Eyes On Me, and Orpheus are definitely in my top five on the album. Although I love the album, I don't think it's as immediate as The Blessed Unrest. Not a complaint, just an observation, at least that's how I feel. Can't wait to see her live and with Emily King opening, too. I expect Emily to join her on Wicked Love. And yes, Orpheus brings me to tears every time I listen to it. First time I heard it live, that's exactly what happened. What a song. I don't know. Outside of I Choose You and Satellite Call (which are two of the best songs of the last 10 years), I prefer this style from her, but to each his own! I LOVE Emily King! Was obsessed with The Switch and Scenery. She is also fantastic live! I saw her at Coachella this year and some other festival when The Switch came out but I forgot which one, LOL. I actually just played Scenery again last night and was still blown away. I didn't know they toured together!

The Blessed Unrest is easily her worst album! The new one is a return to form.

Tracklist looks like it includes two demos (or alternate takes of some sort vs. the original album – "She Used To Be Mine" is nearly five minutes long) and five new songs for Sara.
1. "Happy Enough" 2. "Door Number Three" 3. "Knocked Up You" 4. "Without A Believer" 5. "I Can't Wait" 6. "Falling In Love Pie" 7. "She Used To Be Mine"

Yup. Here's the original demo of "She Used To Be Mine" that actually led the producers to create the show.

Sara's Amidst the Chaos tour started last week. Has anyone been yet? The stage looks stunning!

Sara's Amidst the Chaos tour started last week. Has anyone been yet? The stage looks stunning! I have! Traveled to Boston then went back to NY in time for her show at the Garden. Sara always delivers so both concerts were phenomenal. I was more emotional during the Boston concert and was bawling my eyes out during She Used To Be Mine (everyone around me were either sniffling or wiping away their tears), Brave, and Orpheus. I had my doubts at first when I saw the setlist especially at seeing all those Waitress songs but they ended up as one of the highlights of the show - specifically Bad Idea. That was so much fun seeing her perform that with Butterfly! SUTBM got a long standing ovation at the Boston concert (same with the Garden show). Another highlight from both shows is the masterpiece mashup of No Such Thing and Satellite Call. I need a high-quality recording of this because it is pure perfection. The Boston audience was just a tad louder than the NY concert but kudos to the NY audience for standing up the moment Sara came onstage. Boston people just sat down for most of the concert. Sara's reaction during Uncharted when we sang the first chorus was priceless. What a moment. Kinda wish she played Manhattan during her NY show but it looks like Uncharted is going to remain on the setlist. The only nitpick I have is that I would have preferred it if she swapped out Miss Simone with Wicked Love because that song is fantastic. My friend in DC is doing her best to convince me to go to one of the shows and I'm seriously thinking about it. Post-concert depression is real, people!

Congrats Sara on another Grammy nomination!
Maybe she can finally win one, although Yola here also has three other noms including Best New Artist.

It's good that she recovered. I don't want any of my faves dead. I wish The Blessed Unrest had a Grammy.

You guys, Sara is literally perfection. I went to her NY show last night and she was absolutely phenomenal (what else is new?). The new album is stunning and I cannot wait for everyone to hear it. Anyway, I was so lucky to have seen Sara again in concert and so close! Don't think that's going to happen again during her fall tour. I was at this show too! It was amazing and reading your review made me miss New York again. I felt so bad for the child that was with the woman who fainted, poor kid was so worried! I hope they were both okay afterwards. And I was so ecstatic to grab Sara's set list from off the stage at the end. Still have it with me, inside a Waitress playbill I have from when she was playing the lead. Excited for her show on Apple TV! Recently going back to "Orpheus" and "Poetry by Dead Men" a lot. "A Safe Place to Land" too but that always makes me tear up.

I totally forgot that happened. It was pretty scary as it was happening because they weren't far from where me and my friends were standing. Lucky you getting that set list! During which Waitress run did you see Sara? She went back for like three stints, if I remember correctly. And of course, I went to all of her "last show" shows, lol.

Hahaha, 30 Rock is the best.

I barely hear Amidst The Chaos anymore. It grew old really fast. I think besides TBU Little Voice is my most played album followed by Kaleidoscope Heart.
