Dishwalla's "Counting Blue Cars" that was released by A&M in the 1990s was just certified Gold. So, where are the Janet certs?! It's just so surprising that Janet does not care. Control, Rhythm Nation and janet could all be 8x Platinum. janet could be 9x Platinum. But, I hear her team is looking into getting new RIAA certs. All For You should be 3x Platinum. Discipline should be Gold. Number Ones is a 2cd album and is eligible for Gold. The Velvet Rope is eligible to 4x Platinum. Design of a Decade supposedly had 2 million in club sales so it could be 4x Platinum. Janet fans and chart fans have been talking about this for 15 years now. It may happen. |

TTWLG passes 99M Spotify streams and AFY is nearly at 87M Spotify streams. She will soon have 3 songs at 100M.

From what I read, Black Diamond started as something else but when the pandemic happened Janet kinda lost her zest to finish the album and put it out. I'm paraphrasing the words of one of her collaborators who recently spoke on what's the lasest regarding the album. I'm thinking when it comes, whenever it comes, it'll be a lot different from the initial project. |

I don’t think it did all that well in one of those “Hit or Miss” call in things radio stations used to do for new songs back then. I kind of agree with how people felt back then. Personally I really liked 20 Y.O. I Loved “So Excited” but it was the wrong song to release at the time in my opinion. Again I loved it and still stick it on playlists sometimes. Perhaps they should have went with “Show Me or Get It Out Me” if they wanted to release an uptempo track?? |

The management and support for this album was not 100% on anyone's end. So Excited was the perfect release IMO. Get It Out Me MIGHT have been a cute little hit, but I also feel like they should have made the album longer. I just KNOW there were some BANGERS made and they withheld it from the album after Weekend got a bad response from fans. On Janet.Club, there's a whole thread about several other producers working the album like Dr. Dre and Kwame. Wish we could hear them! |
