I don't see where he says anything one way or another about Janet. Those headlines and comments act like he said it was good for Janet, but he did not; he simply said it brought publicity for the NFL halftime shows, and notes he was asked about the halftime show despite playing in the game. That's all probably accurate. It would have been nice for him to also acknowledge that the NFL profited off Janet's demise, but I find the comments about him misleading as they act like he said it was ok as the one tweet says he "thinks all of that was ok" but nowhere did I see him say that. Anyway the highs of Discipline were really nice; my favorites are "Curtains" and "Feedback." It's irrelevant whether or not he made a specific comment about Janet. The point is that he is taking a situation that is deeply rooted in misogynism and racism, and that is broadly recognized as destroying a Black woman's career and legacy, and recasting it as beneficial, all from a position of immense privilege. So, yeah - absolutely clueless. Two words: tone deaf. I don’t understand any rush to defend him. As if he needs it more than Janet. The dragging was necessary. |

The point is that he is taking a situation that is deeply rooted in misogynism and racism, and that is broadly recognized as destroying a Black woman's career and legacy, and recasting it as beneficial, all from a position of immense privilege. Speaking about the benefits accrued to the NFL as if they existed in a vacuum, and NOT addressing the very public realities for the Black woman who lost everything, is about as privileged (and savvy) as saying that the publicity that Rosa Parks generated was a big boost to the bus industry. Just dumb, and the lashings are deserved. |

I don't like how her nephew is trying to slut shame her and other female artists for being provocative in their music when male artists do it too. Male rappers, Prince, R.Kelly, Chris Brown, Omarion, Trey Songz, and Usher. Some of these male artists have also given lap dances on stage.
Why not also put that same energy and hold male artists accountable if he is really that concerned for his daughters? |

Finally got my seat! Ticketmaster put up some decent seats in the lower level, almost $200. So glad I avoided the resales and platinum tickets.
This rain has been an issue all week, I look forward to the floods going away so we can enjoy ourselves tomorrow.
