I like the vibe of this a whole lot. But there isn't a discernible chorus or certainly not a memorable one. I would worry about it on the charts but for now she is at number one on iTunes.

I like it enough and like the idea of what she was going for. It's a nice concept of a song, it's nice lyrically and melodically. I think it could be so much better with an explosive chorus which stays true to the concept of the song overall but is more uptempo and very hard hitting (even if only perhaps a final chorus fit this bill). Some kind of personality in her vocals would be great too. I can see myself listening to this occasionally in the future.

Not really liking this so far. Hopefully her other material is better.

Lady Gaga has done it twice this year. I agree on the Sheryl Crow comparisons. I could sorta hear this woven into The Globe Sessions or C'mon C'mon. Hmm, nah, this sounds nothing like The Globe Sessions. Her lyricism also doesn't even come close to Sheryl's, it's way prepubescent and vapid in comparison. It reminds me of Last Goodbye by Kesha in a way. Miley kind of copies her a lot when you really piece it together. She's really not a very good artist but she managed to make this catchy enough, but the quality of the song is pretty much aligned with that horrid, ill-chosen font on the cover art. You understand that prepubescent refers to kids between the ages of about 7 and 11. Miley is 24. I tend to think the lyrics are appropriate for her age.

I like it overall, it's very calming honestly and she kind of sounds like a combination of Lady Gaga and Miranda Lambert here. There are times also where I feel she sounds like her sister (I despise Noah's music). This wasn't what I was expecting, but I like it even if it's a little overwhelming. I just think she needs to put a little more effort in the vocals as they sound drained drown at times. Overall, very good though.

What's the point of having sales for 1 day?

What's the point of having sales for 1 day? Yeah, can someone explain this sudden trend to me?

What's the point of having sales for 1 day? Yeah, can someone explain this sudden trend to me? It's pretty much just so you can be the first new song of the week to eliminate getting lost in the shuffle of the Friday releases. Plus, with the new rule of everyone releasing on Friday, the US is one of the last countries to enter the release date window. Releasing on Thursday afternoon/evening in the US is actually releasing Friday elsewhere. Some labels and artists have decided to release whenever it turns Friday in some other part of the world rather than waiting until Friday in the US or releasing whenever each individual time zone reaches Friday to eliminate piracy. But let's be real, as far as charting purposes are concerned, releasing a day before the charts reset makes about as much sense as releasing a day after the charts reset like it used to be. So, none, lol.

they might even tack those sales onto the debut week. Don't they do that anyways with releases at 11pm?

Eh. Doesn't really grab me. same. I wanna like it, and I like cutesy Colbie Caillat stuff like this, but there really isn't a catchy melody. It's very non-controversial. Very safe.

Any sales made today will count towards this week's chart, not next week's. iTunes has never done that before and I'm sure as hell that Miley Cyrus of all people is gonna be the one to change their mind. ![](http://yoursmiles.org/ssmile/fun/s0244.gif)

Sonically I like it but the melody is non-existent and her vocals aren't anything to run home about as on some past releases.

Great song - she is doing something really fresh taking guitar riff and putting it into a pop sequence, it is a quality adult pop, which has a big chance to become classic and stay fresh. It is no way into the current trends. Harry Style should learn some style here.

Easy. There's nothing genuine about her. Kinda. I think she's pretty genuine in the sense that she's been upfront about using imagery as aesthetic, not to represent who she actually is, but to a point I don't think this is nearly as calculated as people say it is.

To me, this represents just another facet of Miley. After thinking about her obnoxious Billboard interview (and her subsequent mea culpa), I really do think, like all people, she is a combination of things and this song showcases the simple, young-and-in-love part of her. She still found a way, via the video, to be the Miley that we have seen in recent years (lifting her shirt up comes to mind), but not in such an outre way. In a way, it kind of reminds me of the Adore You video but more playful and innocent. It was like she made a home video for Liam. I guess that's what Adore You was as well, LOL. Anyway, I really admire this song because it's so pretty and I agree that the video is simple yet very affective. It actually moved me.

12 million Youtube views in it's first 24 hours... damnnn.... doing 12 million with such a simple video is impressive.. We Can't Stop pulled in 10 million with controversy behind it and Wrecking Ball did 19 million. so 12 million is impressive numbers

Interesting how so many people are saying this reminds them of this song or that song. For me, it reminds me of Kylie Impossible Princess/Some Kind of Bliss
