Nice to see a '90s rankdown on here. I enjoy a solid two-thirds of this list, and only had to refresh my memory on two songs ("Mummers' Dance" and Uncle Sam).
I'm happy "Jump Jive an' Wail" snuck onto the list, as I loved that little swing revival from around that time. I'm guessing the song benefited from being a minor hit on multiple formats.

Pretty much the year where my fandom of pop music peaked. Had to use the preference revealer, because I love most of these songs and like just about all of them, so ranking them like I normally do may not have been possible. I still struggled mightily with #1. I wanted to make my top two a tie for #1 so badly.

Wowowow so many forgotten gems! I am going through and adding like 20 of these to my music library because I had forgotten all about them completely! Can't wait to see how everything shakes out, because unlike Country in the late 90's there are so many quality gems. I miss when this was Top 40 music so much!
Fun fact: My #1 is my second-favorite song of all-time. Nobody better hate on it!

it's amazing how much pop radio has changed (for the worse) in the last 19years...1998 had a good mix of rock, alt, pop, r&b, etc...now days it all sounds the same to me (i know, i'm old)...but to stay positive, 1998 was a very good year in music, so i'll be participating

I'm definitely interested in doing this since because I actually don't know too much 90s pop and want to hear more, but I'll be out of town from the 28th to the 30th, so I have to listen to pretty much everything in three days. I'll try my best to get it in though.
