This is musically really strong, and it captures the atmosphere of many of Kesha's old party tunes but with far more substance. Not a massive fan of the lyrics though, there are ways to be empowering and be proud of being a woman without bashing the other group (see: Most Girls) but I feel like too many empowerment tracks these days miss that and just go for bashing the other group as somewhat of a straw man. Oh well, still a good song. Will they be releasing this second after Praying is done?

She's literally celebrating womanhood and saying she doesn't need a man.

I like this! Clear conformation that she can still do fun stuff in a new sonic direction. That giggle about a minute in is really cute too.

For a Kesha song, this is good. It has attitude and the horns section is great.

This is good. I like it a lot more than "Praying."

I like it but I hate that she has to resort to cussing.

I wonder if this is going to be a single at some point, did anyone hear the clean version they were playing during the VMA's? Instead of "mother fucking woman" it was "I'm an independent woman." I doubt they would go through the trouble of recording a clean edit if they weren't planning on sending it to radio in the future.

^ I thought there are two albums: explicit and clean. So wouldn't that version be the one from the clean-version album? Or is that not how it works?

Artists don't usually re-record clean versions with alternate wording for the clean version of their albums. Usually, the cuss words are just blanked out in the mix (which is how this one is on the clean version). They sometimes do re-record alternate clean mixes for airplay so it doesn't sound choppy on the radio. That's why I suspect this will be a single at some point.

I love the intro to this where she shouts"shut up" and jumps right into the song. It's so no-nonsense but still fun. lol. And the giggle in the second verse makes the song. I'd love this to be a single just so that can be heard. Don't like the laugh at the end though.

I love this song. Has the party atmosphere of her old stuff with the maturity of her new stuff.

I kinda ruled it out as a single because of the cussing. But it sure would sound great on radio!

Looks like Kesha is doing a split release for her second single. ETA: The original tweet was deleted in favour of the above, probably because of JJ Ryan's typo in mentioning Kesha there.

So LTLG in Europe and Woman in the US?
Ehhh, not sure that's a smart move.

I cannot see Woman being a hit. It is an amazing song but I can not see the currently male obsessed chart/Trumpβs America accepting this woman anthem, no matter how much I wish this could be #1 for weeks on end. Praying was a hit but not big enough for the second single to become a hit automatically so I hope she goes with Learn To Let Go next to keep things safe. If that is a hit she can release Woman (or Hymn since she said a video is done for it, and then close the era with Woman)

I cannot see Woman being a hit at all but itβd be a good, cute little single to close out the era. They really should go with LTLG to keep things safe and itβs also a fantastic follow up to Praying thematically which I think people would appreciate.

A good song, but Learn To Let Go could've been a big hit for her. This is the wrong choice

I feel like "Woman" wouldn't do well as the next single. LTLG is the song that should be released here as the second single. It seems to be the most logical choice to me and sounds like a hit that I think radio would latch onto.

Love this track, but her team better get their heads out of their asses and release LTLG first...

I heard her performance of this at the Jingle ball concert and have to say that this song is really good.It would do well as the next single.
