Background Information:
Vanessa was once signed to Columbia for a 7 album deal as part of The Daou, but after problems arose, they left. Her breakthrough album Zipless was based on the erotic work of controversial author Erica Jong. The album was produced by her former husband who was programmer/musician Peter Daou who is now a political blogger and strategist. Peter worked on remixes and tracks with Danny Tenaglia. Background Information:
This was produced by Chicago-based duo 20 Fingers. They produced a series of sexual and risque Dance and Hip Hop songs. "Short Dick Man" featuring rapper Sandra Gillette was their biggest international hit. Gillette went on to release several singles and albums with varying degrees of success. "Lick It" was hit all over the world but it only peaked at #72 in the U.S. This was the only song released by Roula. Roula notoriously performed this at Dance Machine wearing a bra and high waisted shorts. Rapper Felli Fel sampled the opening instrumental hook in his hit "Feel It"

Background Information:
This song was supposedly written about Courtney Love who had allegedly caused problems between her and Trent Reznor. The album version was darker and dramatic. The hit version internationally was by Armand Van Helden which was based around a few short sections of lyrics which changed this into a sizequeen anthem. This mix helped to put AVH on the map. He did several other remixes cut in the same style as this one.

- Feelin' Love: this was the first time I heard it and it became a strong favorite and kept rising in positions... another song I considered super super sexy in vibe, beat, and vocals...

I have to admit that I gave bonus points to Lick It it was a guilty pleasure of mine in the early 1990s, reached #13 in my personal chart and later it had a different meaning in my first years of going to LGBT dance clubs

Me too! I didn't know it was based on that when it first came out.

On the subject of their remakes, they did a remake of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" on that same album and they got Stevie Nicks to record new vocals. As a fan of the original, I think this was tastefully done.

Background Information:
The album track was co-written by Madonna and Natalia Kills and Kanye West produced it. It was one of the many highlights from Rebel Heart and its accompanying tour. The borderline blasphemous lyrics brazenly equate Madonna's pussy juice to holy water given at church. The song's bridge contains some lyrics from the rap in "Vogue". The full rap was used during the tour version along with the chorus. The song was deemed so problematic that she wasn't permitted to perform it in Singapore during the tour.
