#31 La Rissa - I Do Both Jay & Jane Background Information: La Rissa was an alias used by singer Eyra Gail who would later release a cover of Bryan Adams' "Heaven" a short time after DJ Sammy & Yanou released theirs (the production on her album version was a note for note replay of the more successful and famous version). This song about sexing both a man and a woman was controversial at the time it came out (in 1999). It ended doing well in the areas of the U.S. where the Freestyle and Breakbeat styles were had done well, most notably in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, parts of Texas, New Jersey, and New York. The song was a minor hit in some parts of Europe as some harder hitting Trance and Hard House mixes were released. Quotable line: "He is a special man long, rough, and rugged She is a diamond she shines like a nugget I've got to have them both you just don't understand Sometimes I call on Jane, sometimes I need a man" Points: 221 Standard Deviation: 13.43 Average Rank: 27.625 Rankings:Ky 5 ★Disco★ 14 Juanca 22 jtd Thee Stallion 32 wavey. 33 bat1990 33 aerodynamite 34 .indulgecountry 48

#30 The Divinyls - I Touch Myself Background Information: This was one of several songs about female masturbation to do really well on the charts. Producer/remixer Lenny Bertoldo covered this with singer Kristy Kay in 2005. Quotable line: "I love myself, I want you to love me When I feel down, I want you above me" Points: 221 Standard Deviation: 15.892 Average Rank: 27.625 Rankings:bat1990 1 Juanca 16 wavey. 18 aerodynamite 25 ★Disco★ 32 .indulgecountry 35 Ky 47 jtd Thee Stallion 47

Lol @ almost everyone ranking the Madonna song either in the top 10 or bottom 10. That said, it's out way too soon. "Bitch get off my pole" is iconic.

#29 Lenny Kravitz - Sex Background Information: This suggestive song was the 2nd single from his 10th album Strut. The cover art notably featured a close-up shot of Lenny wearing his signature leather pants, presumably with no underwear as he did during that infamous performance where everything fell out. Quotable line: "I can't contain my desire and I'm coming apart I'm just a slave for your pleasure and I'm waiting to pop" Points: 218 Standard Deviation: 16.91 Average Rank: 27.25 Rankings:★Disco★ 6 bat1990 8 Juanca 17 aerodynamite 19 wavey. 32 jtd Thee Stallion 44 Ky 46 .indulgecountry 46

ITM and Sex were two songs that I considered just sexy enough but received some bonus points because I love them!

#28 Mya - Whatever Bitch Background Information: This song from her album Moodring is atypical of Mya's usual slinky, sensual style. The hypersexual ho dance anthem was a mainstay of her promo appearances during that album's cycle. Many have posted videos of themselves dancing to this on YouTube. Quotable line: "You're callin' me a ho cause I'm trying to get my freak on But bitch we're in a club, what the hell do you expect, bitch?" ITM and Sex were two songs that I considered just sexy enough but received some bonus points because I love them! Lenny's Strut album has a really fun 80s aesthetic. "The Chamber" has a guitar riff throughout it that is very similar to "Edge Of Seventeen." I was originally choosing Lenny's "Superlove" as remixed by Avicii as the one I would use but it didn't have the raw passion that "Sex" had.

Oh man! I heard The Chamber during a work trip to Europe a couple of years ago and it instantly became one of my favorites from Lenny ever. I remember I texted my partner about it because he's a Lenny fan and usually buys his albums, so I asked him to buy Strut lol. Pretty good songs there, especially for 80s fans

Last one for now. #27 Ginuwine - Tell Me Do U Wanna Background Information: This was the R&B singer's 2nd single. Quotable line: "Tell me do you want to go home with me? We're at the halfway mark now. My plan is to try and finish this by Saturday when my Nick Jonas rankdown submissions end so I can begin unveiling that on Sunday. #25 Nicole Scherzinger - Wet Background Information: This was the 4th single from her Killer Love album. It was written by Ester Dean and produced by Stargate. Loving this rankdown, especially since I have no idea where things are going to fall. A few thoughts: - I Do Both Jay & Jane - this was one of those songs that was huge in Tampa. The freestyle craze was real there in 99 an 00 (certain Stevie B songs spun as if they were current, tons of Rockell, early adoption of Sonique). Love it. - Whatever Bitch - One of only two songs I would keep on Moodring starting with track 10 (the other is Late, and maybe Taste This gets to stay too). I haven't played it in a while but this rankdown was a fun reminder to go back and listen to it! - Nice & Slow - All the makings of a song I'd love, just never really got into this one.

Had I ranked songs by my overall liking of them, I would've probably put Wet in my top 10. As a sexy sexy song? Nope, not that high... not that wet

- I Do Both Jay & Jane - this was one of those songs that was huge in Tampa. The freestyle craze was real there in 99 an 00 (certain Stevie B songs spun as if they were current, tons of Rockell, early adoption of Sonique). Love it. It was the same sort of scene here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Freestyle and Breakbeat oriented tracks were always big here. And classics by Stevie B, The Cover Girls, Cynthia, Nocera, Sweet Sensation, Corina, Lisa Lisa, Noel, and Expose always got a lot of play in the mixshows and even outside of the mixshows. Rockell was big in this area too. I remember reading in DMA Magazine that Florida was the first market in the U.S. to play Sonique before New York, Chicago, and San Francisco eventually did. I remember the first time I heard the La Rissa song in a mixshow and I had to know what it was. Everytime they played it on that station, the phone lines would be super busy because others were wondering too. I found out a short time later and bought the vinyl single. - Whatever Bitch - One of only two songs I would keep on Moodring starting with track 10 (the other is Late, and maybe Taste This gets to stay too). I haven't played it in a while but this rankdown was a fun reminder to go back and listen to it! I like "Late" too plus "My Love Is Like Wo." - Nice & Slow - All the makings of a song I'd love, just never really got into this one. I never cared for the original but I liked that remix version I used for the rankdown.

#24 Annie Lennox - Money Can't Buy It Background Information: This was an album track from Annie's solo debut album Diva (she had previously been in duo Eurythmics with Dave Stewart). It was featured in a pivotal dance sequence in the movie Striptease. The smoldering attitude and building nature of the song leading into that massive, orgasmic final chorus is why this is a part of the rankdown. Quotable line: "Now, Hear this Pay attention to me 'Cause I'm a rich white girl and it's plain to see I got every kind of thing that the money can buy Let me tell you all about it Let me amplify I got diamonds? You heard about those" Points: 182 Standard Deviation: 10.58 Average Rank: 22.75 Rankings:aerodynamite 13 bat1990 15 .indulgecountry 16 ★Disco★ 18 Ky 18 Juanca 24 wavey. 37 jtd Thee Stallion 41

- Pussy Control Background Information: This song was originally recorded in 1994 and was eventually released on the 1995 album The Gold Experience. An alternate remix was included on the Crystal Ball album. The song was not a single but it was performed on the VH1 awards in 1995, heavily edited. The pseudo-rapped song tells the story of the titular character getting bullied at school and then rising up from it and succeeding in life and then openly dismissing the casting couch mentality of the music industry. Quotable line: "And this fool named Trick want to stick her Uh, talking more s**t than a bit About how he going to make Pussy a star If she come and sing a lick on his hit Pussy said, "N****, you crazy if you don't know Every woman in the world ain't a freak You can go platinum four times Still couldn't make what I make in a week So push up on somebody that want to hear that Because this somebody here don't want to know Boy, you better act like you understand When you roll with Pussy Control." The Diva album as a whole is pretty good too. I love "Little Bird", "Why", and "Cold" in addition to the big hit "Walking On Broken Glass." I also like the bonus track (from certain editions of the album) "Step By Step" which went on to become the song of the same name for Whitney Houston a few years later with backing vocals by Annie.

Agree with all these songs, and then I'd add Precious (another uptempo). Plus, before the Beyoncés of the world, she released a video album practically alongside the music album. It didn't have videos for all the songs at the moment of the first release but then she added a couple of videos later and this ended up being the first time I witnessed an era with so many videos -for singles and album tracks!

Annie and Dave did that for their Eurythmics album Savage too. Sophie Muller was the director for both video albums. The Savage one was more cohesive as the order of the songs was re-arranged to create a loose narrative.
