I'll likely be right at the deadline.
I have been so busy these past couple weeks that I haven't had the time to sit down and do this.

Brandon, have any more people submitted their lists yet? Surprised rockmandattebayo hasn't submitted yet considering he usually submits them early.

Brandon who tf is Brandon Yeah, Daryl kind of let that cat out of the bag when he was doing hints for, I believe, his rock rankdown. That's my actual first name. I just prefer to be called Red. And to answer Daryl's question, we did get one more submission. It won't be a popular one.

And to answer Daryl's question, including me, it's eleven, but I also expect a small barrage of submissions closer to the deadline. I just think calling anyone by their first name is weird as hell unless it's like James or Daryl where their username is literally their name

We're posting in a different font, and you know what that means...I HAVE A FEVER, AND THE ONLY PRESCRIPTION IS MORE BALLOT UPDATES! It's time for the rock chart rankdown version of the B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! The latest group of rankings come from Doc Indie Party Rock, alexcuse, and rockmandattebayo, and...well...there's no easy way to put this: They shook up the rankdown pretty heavily.
- I haven't been talking about #1 and what's happening with the #1 spot all that much for a reason: Not much has been changing at the top...that is, until recently. During this part of the process, we had a new #1 for the first time in almost ten rankings. That song has since been displaced by the previous #1, but there's an actual battle for the #1 spot right now. - One of the two top ten constants just dropped out of the top ten for the first time, leaving just one song that has been in every top ten up until this point. - The same three bottom ten songs from the previous update have not moved on from the bottom ten. Things could still change for two of the songs pretty quickly, but the third...not looking likely. - Time for another threshold change! Eight songs are below the 300 point mark. The song with under 100 points for most of this rankdown FINALLY was able to get above 100 points...but it's the only song still under 200 points. - Milestone time! Five songs have hit the 1,000 point mark, and another song is less than ten points away. Two songs are over 1100 points. - It's time, yet again, for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

WE'VE GOT ANOTHER ONE! SOUND THE ALARM! We have a tie all the way up at #9. There are also ties at #44, #49, #52, #57, and #81.

I just finished my list. I actually really enjoyed this one and it might be my favorite one we've done yet. A good number of songs I completely forgot about. 2003 or 2004 will probably be my favorite at least in the 00's.
In relation to Baron's comment, I personally didn't rank "Savior" anywhere as high as I did for the 2010 Active Rankdown in which it was #1. This rankdown kicks absolute ass over the mostly crap that was 2010 Active.

I truly forgot about this. I'm starting this now and I hope I'll be able to finish my list. And to think...I was just about to try and remind you again. Getting close to the deadline now. Starting to see more of the usual suspects send rankings, but there's some of you who are still noticeably absent...
72 HOURS UNTIL THE DEADLINE.

We're posting in a different font, and you know what that means...BALLOTS, BALLOTS EVERYWHERE! It's time for the rock chart rankdown version of the B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! The latest group of rankings come from Albie , American Idiot , and zaclord 🌈 . With the last one, I can hear Green screaming from here (though, given what I know about zac's ranking, perhaps he shouldn't be).
- The #1 battle continues to be fierce, as #1 has changed hands once again. On a related note, the top two are now well ahead of the rest of the pack. #3 is well over 100 points behind #2. - Finally, a big change at the bottom of the ranking, as one of the three constant bottom ten songs was able to escape with this latest update. The other two songs are not really close to being so lucky. - Threshold change time: Seven songs are below the 400 point mark. At least #100 isn't quite as lonely now, though, as just two songs are below the 300 point threshold. - Twenty-seven songs are now over the 1000 point mark, while eight of those songs are above 1200 points. Only two have over 1300 points. Guess which two. - It's time, yet again, for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

Admittedly, it's not the most exciting update for ties, but we do still have a couple, at #30 and #47. A bunch of songs are pretty close to each other, though, so we may be seeing more ties than this soon enough.

Just realized I underranked one of the songs here, so hopefully I didn't tank that song too much. I'll reveal what song it is when it shows it's face.

OPEN WIDE FOR SOME REMINDER!
The Red Rankdown Reminder is coming to the 2009 Alt rankdown. It's all here: Tagging, bold text, and Georgia font? YOU BET!
You'll see all of your favorite tagged stars, like Lordeftones, James, Figurative, thewebinator, and PIPA! And they'll all be sending in rankings! (Well, hopefully.)
This tag will determine once and for all who is the best rankdown reminder on Earth: Red...or somebody else.
The Earth explodes
48 HOURS UNTIL THE DEADLINE.
No, I don't know what came over me, either. Here's the Simpsons scene this whole thing is a reference to.

I already submitted mine, but I have a Question: I have never tried that preference revealer. It appears to be just the song titles without the artist. What is it's purpose?

Submitted. I have one of the biggest hits of the year in my bottom five. One artist that makes their rankdown debut is in my top ten. Two artists that I've ranked very low in the past are in my top ten. Also two fan favorite artists score their highest rankings this rankdown.

It ranks songs based on your preferences. When it comes to how it works for rankdowns, you basically choose which song you like more with every new matchup, and it ranks the songs for you. Personally, I find it to be an imperfect way of doing rankings, because it's not always 100% accurate, but I also see why others use it. It's quick and easy. By the way, as an aside, we've got enough rankings to do another ballot update. See you guys soon...

We're posting in a different font, and you know what that means...THE BALLOTS, THEY ARE A-CHANGING! It's time for the rock chart rankdown version of the B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! The latest group of rankings come from rowellfarm490 , Lordef†ones , and Green's mortal enemy, .indulgecountry . We also had someone send in a revised version of their ranking (they can choose to be nameless, if they so desire!), and, in one case in particular, it shook up the top ten pretty hard. As for what the others did...
- The #1 battle looks to have calmed down a bit, but the top two are still well ahead of #3, and, barring a dramatic change, the top two will be the overall top two at the end of the process. - 4-9 are not quite as lucky to be separated by as much as the top two is separated from the rest of the pack. In particular, the bottom half of the top ten could change with one ranking. - For the first time in a long, LONG time, we had a new #100 when I was tabulating the latest three rankings...only to return to #100 by the time I was done tabulating. The bottom five is actually pretty bunched up. How much so? - Five songs are still under the 400 point mark, but the difference between #96 and #100 is now a little over 50 points. Why is this important? Because in the previous update, #96 was over 100 points ahead of #100. The gap has shrunk... - Nearly half the rankdown has reached the 1000 point mark, but only nine songs have 1400 or more points, and only the top three have more than 1500. - It's time, yet again, for Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...

Oh, look, a not very exciting ties update. Yay. There are still ties at #49 and #74, however.

I think some people make the mistake of just doing the preference revealer and then submitting whatever it gives them, but I always actually look at my list afterwards and make adjustments. Not sure why some people don't bother to do that, but it just makes sense to me, lol.

Yeah, the handful of times that I used the preference revealer, I always looked over and changed the list to make sure that it was as accurate as possible. I feel like the revealer is a good tool as a starting point for putting together a list, especially when a rankdown list is 100+ songs, as that can be pretty daunting on its own...but it should never, ever do all of the work for you, as it may not be 100% accurate.

I'm almost through the whole list now and there's not a single song that makes me want to gouge my ears out. Picking my #100 may be hard.
There is a decent amount of meh songs on here though. It's a decent list, but this year doesn't blow me away like some of the past few years have.

Submitted!
Only one song in my Top 10 I know I'm going to lose early (probs bottom 10). There's another in there I'm not sure how far it can go. It's by an artist that has done poorly with some tracks, or in the middle with their others, but this one is their best song imo.
There are three veteran bands on here that I normally rank low, even though y'all love them (well, one isn't as loved, but they've had success). One of them actually made my Top 40, one fell just short of my Top 75 (progress!), while the other one couldn't escape my bottom 5.
I'm also curious to see what song I think is bad, that I didn't think y'all would love, but ends up going far for this one!

Are we to rank strictly the version of Lost! with Jay-Z? Good question, and, honestly, one that I'm hard pressed to answer, though it's mainly because of things that I'm discovering beyond this question. What's interesting to me is that I'm not really seeing where the Jay-Z version charted on Alt, and it doesn't really specify that it's the Jay-Z version when I look to see where this charted and at what point. I'd say that you can rank either version, personally, so feel free to rank whichever version you want to rank. (And to be fair, I don't think that the Jay-Z version changes the song THAT much. It's pretty much the same song, just with a Jay-Z verse.)
