Lila McCann was someone I really liked early on. "Down Came A Blackbird" was one of my favorite songs in the fall of 1997 and I really enjoyed "I Wanna Fall In Love" and "Almost Over You". When "With You" came out I was excited because that quickly became my second favorite song behind "Down Came A Blackbird". Was glad to see that song do as well as it did. Also really liked "Crush" from her second album as well. Her 3rd album would become my favorite album of hers. While I enjoyed the singles from her first two albums I was never that crazy about what I did hear from the albums and never invested much time into them but her 3rd album was different. While it had no successful singles I really loved both of them; "Come A Little Closer" and "Because Of You"". I also really liked the songs "Where It Used To Break", "She Remembers Love", and "Like A Rocket". After that she would release a few stand alone songs that never made an album and would feature on a song with Jim Brickman. "Go Easy On Me", "I Can Do This", "Peace On Earth", and "That's What Angels Do" are all amazing songs that I really wish had connected with people enough to get an album out. The song with Jim Brickman, "I'm Amazed", was included on his Disney Songbook album. After a long hiatus she came back this past year with a new EP called Paint This Town and the title track happens to be the only song I have actually listened to but I am going to change that soon because if the rest of the EP is anything like that song I'm bound to really like it. Now choosing a song was hard. Spotify does not have any song that wasn't on an album. Her new EP is on there though. I've been trying to choose songs that are on both youtube and spotify but this is a case where I need to choose a song that is not on spotify because it is too soon for me to include one of the new songs (even though I did debate doing just that) and I really wanted to include one of the newer songs. I was torn between "I Can Do This" or "That's What Angels Do" because they are both really good. Hope you enjoy the one I chose Tags: (will add anyone who wants to be tagged) bboat11 someguy zaclord 🌈 Cody Wants Out... .indulgecountry Tim

My favorite version of this song is from Laura Bell Bundy, but it's just a beautiful track and Lila McCann did it justice, too. <3

Only 6 more reveals left after this one! Will be done this week! Jessica Andrews is another artist I really like a lot ever since her very first single "I Will Be There For You. Some of the other songs from her that I love are "Everything", "Unbreakable Heart", "Karma", "There's More To Me Than You", and "Who I Am". Choosing a song for this was difficult because I like more than one song. I went back and forth on this one and decided to include "Everything" because it was her last single released to radio and she sounds great on it. I remember when Laura Bell Bundy's came out I was wondering if it was the same song and I did like her version but was already a big fan of Lila's so her version never stuck with me. It really is a great song though.

First off...Yay Lila and Jessica are so underrated! Love them both and the song choices are great! (Though Jessica I may have picked something from 'Now') My favorite version of this song is from Laura Bell Bundy, but it's just a beautiful track and Lila McCann did it justice, too. <3 Lila's version actually came out first. I remember when Laura Bell Bundy's came out I was wondering if it was the same song and I did like her version but was already a big fan of Lila's so her version never stuck with me. It really is a great song though. Danielle Peck also recorded it! Lila's is my favorite probably because I knew it the longest but the other two are good as well. I switch back and forth over Laura or Danielle for second place honestly lol Kinda like the song "Like My Mother Does" having been recorded by Kristy Lee Cook, Jesse Lee, and Lauren Alaina. Funny how both songs got released twice as singles and both had only one version of them chart.

She was on the list for this rankdown but was one I cut for someone newer. Sadly with Jessica, her Now album is the one I have listened to the least so choosing a song from that album wasn't easy. Need to listen to it more because I really do like her and not sure why I never really listened to that one. (I should say I have listened to it I just don't remember it all that much). I almost chose "I Will Be There For You" but that one will be in a different rankdown soon enough...

Lets get a couple legends out of the way next. Dolly Parton was one of the first names I wrote down for this. I will say I like her more than her music but there are quite a few songs that I absolutely love. Songs like "Here You Come Again", "Better Get To Livin'", "Jolene", "I Will Always Love You", "Why'd You Come in Here Lookin' Like That", and "Hard Candy Christmas". "Hard Candy Christmas" is easily my favorite song from her but that song has already been in 2 different rankdowns. So I decided to go with "Better Get To Livin'" because I just love the lyrics and her performance on it. Loretta Lynn was one of the last artist I put down for this. I have always really enjoyed her presence on tv whenever I've seen her. Plus she is one of the defining Female Country singers of all time! Choosing a song from her is not easy as she has a lot of incredible music. Songs like "Coal Miner's Daughter", "You Ain't Woman Enough", "You're Looking At Country", "One's On The Way", "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)", and "Miss Being Mrs." all deserved to be included. I was originally going to include "Miss Being Mrs." because the emotion in that song is powerful but I decided to include one of her classics since I chose a more recent song for Dolly. "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)" is definitely up there for her singles and I'm interested to see how it does in this rankdown! Kathy Mattea is someone that I love her voice but don't really know much of her music. Not sure how she slipped through the cracks for me but there are a few songs that are absolutely incredible like "Eighteen Wheels and A Dozen Roses" and "Walking Away A Winner", both of which I thought about including in this I decided on "Standing Knee Deep in a River (Dying of Thirst)" because it is one of those songs that I always forget when I read the title how it goes but when I listen to it I am floored. I just love this song and I hope everyone will give it a fair shot, it really is great. Tags: (will add anyone who wants to be tagged) bboat11 someguy zaclord 🌈 Cody Wants Out... .indulgecountry Tim

Another artist that absolutely had to be a part of this list is Shania Twain. When I first got into Country music I was not a fan. Anything from her The Woman In Me album were instant station changers for me. Then she released "Love Gets Me Every Time" and I was a fan. Loved that song and "Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)" continued it. Of course after this she released the dreadful "You're Still The One" (sorry not a fan of that song). She has ended up being someone that I am hit or miss with but more hit with me over the years. I definitely think her The Woman In Me album is her best album. Come On Over and Up! are both great but something about her second album is definitely better than her third and fourth. I have yet to listen to her new album, though I have listened to some songs and have liked them. Since there has already been a Shania Twain rankdown that included every single prior to her new album I decided to include one of the songs from that album that I have heard and I like a lot. The next two artist are people I haven't really given much of a chance but their latest singles (or previous in the case of the next one) definitely made me really like them and I think I may end up being a big fan of both but only time will tell (I need to get around to listening to more of their music). Kelsea Ballerini has released 5 singles to Country radio and they are the only songs I really know. Will get around to listening to her more soon for the rankdown of her two albums (doing it this week!). While I thought "Love Me Like You Mean It" and "Dibs" were good, I just really always felt meh about them both. I've listened to "Peter Pan" a few times and for some reason I forget it right after listening to it and I really did not like "Yeah Boy" at all. For some reason I really love "Legends" and while I was thinking I wouldn't include this song because it was current I just couldn't justify not including it because it is a great song. Here is the final song and this is the last song I added onto this rankdown because I was originally going to include Brandy Clark instead but as I only know 1 song from both I went with Carly Pearce because "Every Little Thing" is easily one of my favorites right now. Her voice is absolutely incredible, I love the tone of her voice and I really need to make time to listen to her album. She reminds me a little bit of Kellie Coffey with the way she sounds and sings. Definitely excited to see where she goes beyond this song! Tags: (will add anyone who wants to be tagged) bboat11 someguy zaclord 🌈 Cody Wants Out... .indulgecountry Tim

I finished my list, but I only got 39 songs. Is that right? Meant to respond to this before but spaced. There are 40 songs. On the first page I forgot to list Trisha Yearwood in the list so I'm gonna guess that is the song you are missing. Gonna fix that now.

Doing the first update here. Have received a couple submissions and have already got the spreadsheet set up and keeping track of the results and while a few songs have moved significantly some have stayed in a similar position. We already have one song holding down #1 for more than one submission. Another that is sticking around the Top 5! On the other end of the rankings there are two songs in particular that seem to want to stay at the bottom, with one of them occupying #40 twice out of three submissions. Still VERY early so everything will likely change but get your submissions in by the deadline! Submissions Due By: February 5thSubmissions Received: bboat11 someguy Which makes 3 including mine! Cannot wait to see what everyone thinks of these songs! SONGS: Martina McBride "You'll Get Through This" Patty Loveless "You Don't Even Know Who I Am" Mary Chapin Carpenter "He Thinks He'll Keep Her" Faith Hill "If This Is The End" Lee Ann Womack "Have You Seen That Girl" Suzy Bogguss "Hey Cinderella" Carrie Underwood "Choctaw County Affair" Jo Dee Messina "It Gets Better" Pam Tillis "Shake The Sugar Tree" Kellie Pickler "100 Proof" Tanya Tucker "Two Sparrows In A Hurricane" Deana Carter "Before We Ever Heard Goodbye" Maren Morris "Just Another Thing" Maggie Rose "Same Sky" Terri Clark "When Boy Meets Girl" Amy Dalley "Let's Try Goodbye" Reba McEntire "Maggie Creek Road" Kellie Coffey "I Just Knew" Rebecca Lynn Howard "Memorized" Trisha Yearwood "I Would've Loved You Anyway" Anita Cochran "For Crying Out Loud" Miranda Lambert "Dead Flowers" Lauren Alaina "Doin' Fine" Wynonna "No One Else On Earth" Lari White "Now I Know" Lorrie Morgan "What Part Of No" Alecia Elliott "Some People Fall, Some People Fly" Sara Evans "Saints & Angels" Jamie O'Neal "God Don't Make Mistakes" LeAnn Rimes "Can't Fight The Moonlight" SHeDAISY "Still Holding Out For You" The Kinleys "She Ain't The Girl For You" Lila McCann "That's What Angels Do" Jessica Andrews "Everything" Dolly Parton "Better Get To Livin'" Loretta Lynn "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)" Kathy Mattea "Standing Knee Deep In A River (Dying of Thirst)" Shania Twain "Swinging With My Eyes Closed" Kelsea Ballerini "Legends" Carly Pearce "Every Little Thing" TAGS (Do not need to be tagged to participate):

The song that was #1 early on is no longer in the Top 15! Based off who submitted so far and the order listed, I am now optimistic that Martina song that put me to sleep won’t do as well as I feared. Lol.
