81. 18 City Calm Down - Your Fix (15 for 2 weeks) (2017) 15-15-21-offNext comes a song that I loved so much, that I crossed it over from one year to another, before I finally found a home for it at the #15 slot. It has a strong 80's New Wave vibe with some captivating vocalworks, but it's those guitar works that won my heart. I also remember entering this song in one of our own indie rock tournaments. I recall it did fairly well among the pulse rock crowd. Unfortunately I haven't found any other ,of their songs ,quite as interesting as this one, but I'll keep my ear out, in case they release any new material.Peak: 15Wks: 18

Unfortunately for you, "Body Moves" stalled out in the low 20s (#26-#29) range on pop radio if I remember correctly...
Nice to see "Run" on your list though. I didn't like it on first listen, but I re-listened to it for the 2017 Alt rankdown and liked it way more than I did on first listen.

Glad to see the support for all these songs. The ghost of Xmas tragedy visited my home this year, so I'm probably staying home for New Year's eve. AT which time I will be posting these live all evening. Sort of like when radio stations do their top 100 of the year. I'll try to get a few more up tonight tho.

White Widdow derive their name from the "White Rock" bands of the 80's. Their style is like White Lion, Whitesnake, Winger, Y&T, and Warrant. This is their 3rd album on AOR Heaven label. It's from a band that I had not really cared for until I heard this song, on another mambers weekly chart. I wonder if he even remembers charting it? the guitars in this is what I refer to as "fierce". Also for the first time, I heard what great vocals; JJ had. They find themselves right outside my Top 10 with the infectious "No Roots". With 16 weeks already on the chart, this one is bound to surpass the 20 week run easily. The main thing that brought my attention to this song, besides, Alice's great vocals, was that fierce bass line that holds the songs melody together from start to finish. This song is also looking to be a big hit on the radio charts as well. Already #1 on AAA and top 5 on Alt. I'm already beginning to wonder what single number 2 will sound like?Peak: 11Wks: 16

They rock and have great vocals, but nothing really stood out for me, until "Mr.TV". Unsurprisingly that turns out to be pulses least favorite song from them, but with this new song, I think most of us are in agreement that it's a great song. If you know anything about me, you knew this song would be in here. The style is 80's overboard Powerballad throwback, but you really gotta view the music video to get the full effect. You got Porn stars galore, booze, and Stone Sour lip syncing the lyrics and playing the part of an 80's glam metal band. It's a hoot. Now ,and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, some ASSHOLE, flagged the official video because of the T&A, but it's been uploaded again for your pleasure, so get it while it's hot. For sleeve art, I created two covers. One with the band and a b-side with Stone Sour.

It's the all girl band; BLACKPINK and thier smash hit, "As If It's Your Last". This song follows the structure of most All Girl k-POp songs, and partly the reason I love the songs so much. You got a super upbeat chorus, but i nbetween One verse sang by one member, than a different verse by another member. Sometimes the verse changes melody too. next you got the one member doing her melodic rap line. It's not angry sounding like other rap, and doesn't scare me away. In fact I get more into the song. Then just before the last chorus, you usually get that slow "aishu" breakdown, last chorus and the big finish. It all sorta reminds me of a song you would find in a Broadway play. Anyway, this song and many more K-pop will be back next year.Peak: 8Wks: 14

It spent quite a while on my HOT LIST, before crashing the Top 50. This is one hell of a song. Has that 80's vibe I love and the style of guitars I like to hear on ALternative music. I still give heavy airplay to the 80's overboard sound of "I Feel You". This song brought on the Reggae vibe, and once again the girls worked hard to learn to play the song with their instruments. I admit that one of the reasons I love this band was because they play their own instruments. The fact that they are all smoking hot was even more of a turn on, but the hard fact is, that they are or were talented as fuck. 67. 14 The Revivalists - Wish I Knew You (8) 29-20-13-11-13-13-13-11-12-10-8-9-13-25-off This song has an interesting story, because I really didn't care for it untill when 80% of it's chart life was over. I never thought it was a bad song, I just thought it was kind of boring? The reason it peaked at #8 , was simply because my then, girl friend dedicated it to me, right before she went back to her home state. I guess it means something different for everyone, but to us, it simply met, that we wish we had met when we were younger. Anyway the song only spent, fourteen weeks on the chart, the bulk of those were high top 20 slots, so it comes in high at #67.

66. 14 Jimmy Eat World - Sure and Certain (11) (2017) 14-12-11-13-12-12-15-offAnother #11 peak song makes its way onto my top songs of the year. This time is comes from a well known Powerpunk/Alternative band of the early 2000s; Jimmy Eat World. This band has had quite a few top 10 hits on my charts. The biggest being " A Praise Chorus". I wonder how many here know that some of the lyrics of the song came from "Kickstart My Heart"? Anyway, this was their big comeback single of 2016 and crossed over to 2017. It's a shame no other song from that album caught on, but this one had the right guitar vibe, and I believe it was the proper single to get em back on the charts.

"High and Low" was a big crossover to my 2017 charts and kept an upward climb, until it finally peaked at #9. This is also the lowest charting single they have scored on my charts. Now while they have lost a bit of that neo-soul vibe; they still have that upbeat sound that I can't resist. This album track I started charting has that exact vibe I can really get into. I can't even count how many times I have charted this band, not alone, how many times I've taken them to #1. It's from another Indiepop band ,that has found big success on my charts. "Safe and Sound", "Kangaroo Court" and "One Minuet More" are just the tip of the iceberg of the songs I've charted from this band. I've heard alot of complains about the lyrics to the chorus of this song, but to me they seem perfect. What else are you gonna sing about in a song called "Vowels". I don't think they were actually trying to cram every vowel into the chorus, but I do think they wanted a chorus that would be easy to sing along to. Again; this was not meant to be a thought provoking song. Just something you can hum along to in the shower while listening to the really cool Disco/dance vibe it has.

Both songs, show the incredible talent, Nickelback has ,and both went to #10, but also spent quite a few weeks in the high slots right under the top, thus getting a high #60 slot for 2017. "Must Be Nice" is a hard rocker with fierce guitars and lyrical play only Nickelback can make happen. "Song On Fire" was a bit more weak with the lyrics, but the great melody and Chad's always reliable vocals reassured this to a big top 10 hit, this year, as well.
