I'm a bit disappointed in how the era has been handled - Gaga and Dua were confronted with the exact same issue, Dua and team really made it work for them. Gaga's definitely more of a 'physical' promo artist, but I remember reading interviews with both sides being like "we had a full plan and then we had to ditch it". Not sure why Gaga and team struggled to pivot?

Not sure how there were no "promo options" when Miley Cyrus is literally doing concerts on her backyard (to great reviews).
I wouldn't really mind it much if she wasn't trending towards bigger and bigger breaks between eras. Unless the trend changes this project is probably it for the foreseeable future.

I'm gonna guess Gaga's team went with a go hard or go home approach, and covid told them to basically go home and they obliged outside of the VMA's
They definitely had the power to do more things like the VMA's performance, they probably just abandoned the ideas though for one reason or another

Amazing that almost all of her chart entries are lead (or co-lead)

Speechless gold certified top 100 smash!! What a great list of hits she has, if not a bit front loaded. She's had minor peaks lately, but I'm ready for the real comeback smash! She's definitely got it in her, she's a huge star, and the type to get more career highlights as the years go on.
So the Wale song and the random remix of the Beyonce song (I totally forgot about) are her only features, very interesting. I wonder how this compares to others?

Of Gaga’s features, this has to be the most random of all. She was featured in this cover of Don’t Give Up by Canadian band Midway State (who themselves were only around very briefly and had one hit in Canada so they were never a big thing here) youtu.be/24p8aqOUBJY

Chromatica IS my favorite Gaga album and one of my all time favorite albums. Bring on a remix of the album with guests or a musical play or movie or something.

Another video and a big Grammy performance would satisfy me. At that point, you have four music videos, two major award show performances, several award wins, with a No. 1 album and single. Not as bad an era as is being painted. Ultimately, I don't think much would have worked at radio beyond SL and ROM though I am curious about what all the big plans were for the era - it felt like the Billboard cover story + "911" video was perhaps going to be the beginning of Chromatica era part 2 but not so much.
I guess the definition of a single these days is blurred but was "911" a "single" or a John Wayne-style bonus video?
She should do a G.U.Y.-style long-form music video and throw a few different songs in.

Gurl, you should've recorded a 5 second "thank you" video for AMAs (and EMAs). It looks ungrateful.

That being said, this album was very catchy and didn't feel like any sort of bad era at all. It just sort of stopped, abruptly. Granted, there were not as many opportunities to promote her music with almost all live shows canceled and folks wrapped up in election and Covid, but there were ways she could have promoted and released stuff digitally. It felt like she just sort of gave up on it and was over it as soon as it began. With her prior albums, regardless of live promotional opportunities, she seemed more invested and took on a whole persona in her social media presence promoting her work. This time she made some big statements about the planet Chromatica...and then *fizzle* *quiet*.

I know (and respect) that she chose not to promote this record due to circumstances yet it had so much potential and seeing what other female artists do is frustrating. The least her team could've done was send 911 to radio when the video debuted.

The least her team could've done was send 911 to radio when the video debuted. They might not had technically sent it to radio, but it did receive some airplay in Europe. It went top ten in Italy for instance. It's been their strategy since G.U.Y., she does what she wants with her music and radio plays it or not. We had 4 videos from Joanne so would expect one more from Chromatica but basically the strategy is the same. Songs have their own life and that's about it. One reason why Million Reasons and Shallow have done so well on streaming is that they never got excessive airplay? Not sure it is, but it might be worth a thought.

She also might need to finance the videos herself or find a good partnership (like LG for 911).

She won't have difficulty finding sponsors for her videos in my opinion, she established herself as a visual artist and many firms might actually be looking forward to work/collaborate with her.

Specially if it's some gay-friendly product. Her dominance over LGBTQ audiences is nearly unmatched, and sponsorships on videos, even if they don't get excessive promo like "911" still make a lot of sense, if they know their demographics.
I don't expect her to completely abandon radio though, it's just that this time it seems like the pandemic made them wrap up the era with as little effort as possible.

Congrats on her Grammy nods. I think she has a very good chance of winning Best Pop Duo category.

Amazing to see the pop noms for RoM and Chromatica. I did hope for one general nom and perhaps a producer nom for BloodPop though. It's great in this shitshow anyways (when being acclaimed AND having the biggest hit globally don't take you anywhere).

Oreo campaign and Sour Candy promo confirmed, the latter by WALMART I think the promo will kick off on Dec 15, when the Sing It With Oreo campaign starts.
