The Sofi Tukker Remix is outstanding!!!! Also, Nicola Formichetti teases the SC video on IG (I assume it's a video he has been working on) http://instagram.com/p/CIWtxhJhuQw

Gave Chromatica a listen after a long break, still sounds fresh and great. Also, Sofi Tukker remix of 911 is a bop.

And i heard Always Remember Us This Way passed 2 million sales (units?) in US. Her best ballad did that. Congrats Gaga.

I splurged and bought some make-up from her line recently lol. I like it-I remember people complaining about how terrible the application and formula were, but it seems fine to me. I am not a fashionista though so maybe it just works well for the minimal make-up I wear versus what people do on youtube. I bought a palette and some lip products. The palette definitely has some colors I will either never wear or will only wear if I start going to cons or concerts again.

Gaga congratulating Ariana Grande for her new album... a whopping 48 days after it dropped. I guess this is on-brand for the chromatica lady.

Lady Gaga is someone who I wish I appreciated more at her peak. I liked her when she first came out but I got really sick of hearing about her during The Fame Monster era, which in retrospect has some of her best stuff on it including my favorite song of hers ("Bad Romance"), so it sucks that my attitude about her was kind of s**tty back then. I liked Chromatica and "Rain On Me" and "Stupid Love" were two of my favorite songs of 2020!

I adored her during her peak; like full-on obsessed about her every performance and song. She started losing me a bit with the "Alejandro" video being a bit weird just for being weird instead of the weird but fun aura of her previous stuff like the BR video.
By Born This Way it all felt very gimmicky, and idk, forced, to me so I lost interest. I liked the ARTPOP singles and "Million Reasons" and "John Wayne" but I never really got back into stanning her until A Star is Born. I revisited a lot of her older stuff after that and ended up appreciating a handful of tracks way more now.
I hope she comes back stronger into the promo and hectic schedule thing with her next project. Chromatica was fine as an album (although not close to her best), but the lack of promo really made it feel like a small era in comparison to her previous projects. I'm sure COVID played a role in that, but still.

Proud to say I'm a day one. She never lost me. You didn't tag me, but I'm still a Monster. I'm not disappointed at all. We got a stellar album (one that completely defined my 2020), three very above average visuals, and a handful of good remixes. Assuming we still get a tour, we will get all the live performances the fans could ever need and I wouldn't be surprised if we got another visual or two then. I was content with the VMA performance also. I honestly didn't need a slew of at home performances, and the album seemed more like a love letter to the fans than the average pop radio listener. Besides, I'm glad she stopped with radio after "Rain On Me" because lbr some of the pop girls here made her threads insufferable with their repetitive spam unable to comprehend Gaga and Chromatica would survive just fine without radio. I am extremely interested to see which direction she goes in after this musically speaking. I wouldn't mind at all if she went the Robyn route. Deep, dark, dance collabs with some respected and underground EDM and house musicians. I feel like she can still dive deeper into the genre and give us some unique, personal masterpieces on her own terms.

Yes and no. I feel like in normal non-pandemic times, the album likely would have gotten more support in the way of interviews, performances and such. I also believe Stupid Love was halted due to the onset of the pandemic (though it probably wouldn’t have gone much higher, I think it might have had a bit more longevity). I think there should have been a third radio single (Free Woman) but for what we got, I’d say it was still good. Three good videos, a number one single, and (hopefully) a mini-tour that I still have tickets to (although I don’t see it actually happening even though it’s in August...). My biggest qualm tbh is that other than the 911 video, the era ended after Rain on Me. The album is too good to not have more visuals. Replay and Babylon in particular. Edit: agreed with die Lotterie about the at-home performances. She seems to have gotten some flack on here about her lack of those, despite other pop girls pulling them off. I don’t think they would have worked and I’m glad she didn’t do them. As for next direction, I’d love to see Gaga do a rockier album a la Plastic Hearts. I’ve been waiting for that since Born This Way.

I think what bothered me the most about the era is that she completely stopped talking about it. Yeah, the lack of performances disappointed me but what disappointed me the most is how she acts like it never existed. No interviews, no tweets, no Instagram posts/stories. She did a couple of those back when the album came out but then nothing.
It gives off the feeling that she either didn't like the album or something else. Pandemic or not, the album rollout could have been better.

Yeah I think this era was a mess overall. Of course part of that is due to COVID-19 screwing up a bunch of promo opportunities, as well as the riots in late May and early June, but still Gaga could've promoted the singles via streamed performances just like every other artist was doing with their own music last year. The VMAs were the only real highlight of the era for me.
But I'm so proud @ The Fame for selling almost 300k copies last year.
