Overall, I'm pretty okay with this set tonight! Nothing felt unduly tanked or anything. "Don't Take The Girl" is a major classic, but it is one of those classics that is so overplayed it is borderline unlistenable. I used to love the song a lot, but nowadays I am never sure if I should rank it highly because it is a great song that I used to love, and still love the lyrics for, or tank it because it is so burnt out on me I can barely listen to it anymore... Lol I hate that dilemma! I usually give it the benefit of the doubt though, and it definitely deserved the top 20 rank that I gave it. "Standing Outside The Fire" is one that I am really surprised to see last so long! I definitely won't go so far as to say it is one of his worst, but I have always had more trouble connecting with it than most of his other '90s work. I honestly think the biggest gripe I have with the song is how he kinda says "standing" weirdly as the song goes on... Lmao it's like "stonding" or something throughout much of the second half! Plus the verses are awesome, but the chorus is really just a repetitive letdown. I did not know about the song's association with the special olympics though, so discovering the music video was awesome! I can get behind this song making the top 20, despite my #40 rank "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong With The Radio" is good, but I didn't like it as much when listening for this rankdown as I remember liking it when I discovered it in the 1992 rankdown... Good time for it to leave. Dierks Bentley is somebody who I find boring more often than not, and this song definitely fell into that category for me. With his songs I either love them or find them really boring. There's not a lot of hate, but there's also just a ton of middle ground... This one would probably grow on me if I listened to it a few more times, but the fact would remain that it is just not as immediate for me as many of the songs that are left. "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" - This is the only reveal of this set that hurts a little bit! It's another song that is just so classic I could see some people being sick of it. After all, it's basically the only thing Sammy Kershaw is known for these days. But I have always loved this song! It is perfect in every way. It tells a vivid yet simple story, is full of emotions and differing perspectives, the melody is catchy, and Sammy sounds wonderful! Definitely thought this might be a top 10 contender.

Anything you are surprised made it to the Top 15? Travis Tritt still seems like a bit of an odd sight in the top 15. No complaints from me though!
Anything you are sad missed the Top 15? "Long Black Train"............................ And "She Don't Know She's Beautiful".
What songs will miss the Top 10? It seems like it's about time for David Nail to leave. Ryan Hurd's song is incredibly overrated, so I hope it leaves. And yeah, Travis Tritt's time will probably come soon as well. Honestly I could see Keith Urban and/or Collin Raye leaving before the top 10 too! Also would not be surprised to see King George fall now that he is so close to the top 10, just so it could really stick in my craw... Lol. After all, "You'll Be There" barely missed the top 40 in George's own rankdown! I know his discography is incredibly strong, so to miss the top 40 in his rankdown is not nearly equivalent to missing the top 40 in many other large rankdowns, but still. Going from missing the top 40 in one rankdown to making the top 10 in another is just slightly more than I want to get my hopes up about (but am still going to get my hopes up anyway...)
And I hope y'all didn't do Daryle Singletary, Tracy Lawrence, or Alan Jackson dirty... Actually, I'm kind of deciding I could see Alan being a dark horse contender to do really well! What kind of monster doesn't like "Gone Crazy"?!

Anything you are surprised made it to the Top 15? "Get To You" and "Nobody Drinks Alone"
Anything you are sad missed the Top 15? "Standing Outside the Fire," "Bigger Than the Beatles," and "There Ain't Nothing Wrong With the Radio"
What songs will miss the Top 10? I'm hoping the two songs mentioned first miss the top 10 as well as "Tomorrow" as Chris Young is so generic

"Tomorrow" is what everybody wishes he would keep releasing instead of the generic stuff!

That was a great set for me. And I think, no matter what, one of my top 10 songs is gonna make the top 10! Party Random prediction without knowing sh*t about what you consider good or bad: My #1 will sneak in at #10. I’m the last participant so I probably bumped it up like 2 positions.

If anyone is around and wants to get us to the Top 10 now, I could maybe finish this up today! Let me know if you would be able to be around through out the day!

Gonna post the next two shortly but just want to post that these next two eliminations are going to hurt. Remember I said last night that 2 people would lose their #1's! That hasn't happened yet...

I sense that "Tomorrow" might be on the chopping block... really hope I'm wrong tho cuz that one should have been a lock for #1 lol
I'll also say that I will be shocked if "Get To You" makes the top 10.

The two people to lose their #1 are losing it together! Just barely missing the Top 10 by 2 points! #11 ~ Nobody Drinks Alone - Keith Urban Album: Be Here Songwriter: Matraca Berg, Jim Collins RANKS: born 1 Kanenrá:ke 1 Cody Wants Out... 2 .indulgecountry 6 someguy 6 castleoblivion26 12 rgreen0625 22 bboat11 26 LBTrocks 34 dub 44 Tim 45 @xfer 49 This has been my favorite song from this album from Keith since it came out. I had hoped it would be a single but they went with "Tonight I Wanna Cry" which I also love but I prefer this one. Despite my #12 ranking I would have LOVED to have seen this make it into the Top 10.

Damn! My #1 just missed the top 10. That always happens, I’m unlucky I also lost my #4 which I also loved. My top 4 is officially eliminated.

Simply devastating that Alan and Keith missed the top 10. I'll express my thoughts later.

Well, I'm nailing the predictions so far! I found "Catch You While I Can" to be quite boring. In fact, I literally did not even hear it the first time I listened to it. I got distracted with reading Random Thoughts or something, and then all of a sudden realized the song was over, and I had to start it over and try again I don't really understand why everybody loves David Nail so much, because his music is frequently this way for me... And now I will eat my words about "Gone Crazy" being one I think will do well..... Seriously, how does this song immediately jump out at people in a negative enough way to warrant a bottom 10 rank??!?! Even if you don't like his voice, this is a really good song! King George, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Hoobastank; literally anybody could have recorded this song and it would still be awesome. The lyrics set up such a somber and gloomy atmosphere. I love most of Alan's work, and I would still put this near the top of his list... I'm back to doing well on the predictions with Travis Tritt leaving! I always think Travis has a tendency to be underrated in rankdowns, so to see him make the top 15 is very cool! That being said, I am more than fine with him leaving now. "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" is fantastic, but it is also among mostly fantastic company. If it was a song like "Help Me Hold On", "Anymore", or "Tell Me I Was Dreaming", I would have been 100% behind him making the top 10, or even the top 5, but this song just has not held up quite as well as those gems. Oh man, Michael Ray falls before Ryan Hurd This is by far the best thing that I have heard from Michael! Y'all know I am normally one of his haters, but I have been loving this since day 1! I am so happy it has managed to hang on despite radio's resistance, because now it has probably done well enough to make the YE rankdown for 2018 (I almost included it for 2017, when it looked like it was about to flop, but then I took a gamble and decided if it sticks around at all it would make more sense to include it in 2018. Looks like it's paying off ) Last but not least, Keith Urban... I am not super surprised to see this song miss the top 10. It is definitely one of the lesser known songs out of what is left. It is a beautiful song, for sure, but I have no qualms seeing it leave now. It honestly took a few listens to "grow" into the 26 rank that I gave it...

Top 10 prediction:
10. Little Rock 9. Love In A Bar 8. Mama Tried 7. I Let Her Lie 6. Time Marches On 5. If I Could Make A Living 4. You'll Be There 3. Tomorrow 2. Dust On The Bottle 1. Right Where I Need To Be
Seriously though, this is basically impossible to predict, and I will probably be surprised no matter what the winner is, like I was with the Female Artists RD... I kinda hope "Dust On The Bottle" doesn't win, because it is a tad overrated, but I would still be okay if it does. Hopefully it'll pull a "Choctaw County Affair" and leave like 5 positions sooner than expected! I am going to go ahead and throw my vote to Gary Allan, who currently has this same song in the top 10 of TWO rankdowns simultaneously!!

I love most of Alan's work, and I would still put this near the top of his list... Agreed with everything here. I was very surprised with the dislike this song received. I have loved this song since the first time I heard it back in 1998. Wish it could have made the Top 10, which it more than deserved I'm back to doing well on the predictions with Travis Tritt leaving! I always think Travis has a tendency to be underrated in rankdowns, so to see him make the top 15 is very cool! That being said, I am more than fine with him leaving now. "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" is fantastic, but it is also among mostly fantastic company. I actually agree with you 100% about the 3 songs you mentioned deserving Top 10 or even Top 5. I almost chose "Anymore" but decided I had too many slow songs and needed to include something more fun and went with this one which I do love a lot and am glad it made it here. I never thought this would be in the Top 15 tbh. Oh man, Michael Ray falls before Ryan Hurd This is by far the best thing that I have heard from Michael! Y'all know I am normally one of his haters, but I have been loving this since day 1! Looks like it's paying off ) I think if I were to re-rank these songs "Get To You" would probably be in my Top 25. This list of songs could change by the minute because I like all of these so much. That being said I was very happy to see this do so well Last but not least, Keith Urban... I am not super surprised to see this song miss the top 10. It is definitely one of the lesser known songs out of what is left. It is a beautiful song, for sure, but I have no qualms seeing it leave now. It honestly took a few listens to "grow" into the 26 rank that I gave it... I got super excited when I saw the #1 rankings that Kanenrá:ke and born gave Keith's song because of how much I love it. When I realized that it was only 2 points away from being in the Top 10 I was disappointed with my own ranking of #12. That being said had this made it to #10 and the song at #10 had missed I'd be equally sad. There was no winning here lol
I will begin posting the Top 10 probably around 5pm EST which is in an hour and a half for anyone who wants to post their predictions beforehand you have until then!

I'm surprised that Merle is still in while Keith and Alan are out. Merle is fine, but to me, like fine at best. Also I feel like Travis Tritt should've been higher. All those other 90s bops in the top 10 - Travis is definitely on brand. haha

"I Let Her Lie" is amazing, and I am thrilled to see it make the top 10! I had no clue whether this song would be able to get that much support or not. I don't know much about Daryle Singletary as an artist, but I have loved this one from the moment I heard it randomly a few years ago.

I am shocked this song managed to make the top 10, because often times super old songs are really difficult to rank among newer songs just because they have such a dated sound to them. And looking at those ranks...I am still shocked it managed to make the top 10! Lol it's not like this song managed to get an overwhelming amount of support, and had no shortage of low ranks either! However, I am definitely excited to see it here Merle can now claim to have a top 10 rankdown performance under his belt!
