Yay, I'm glad this one is finally leaving!!!! I really want to like it, because everybody always raves about this guy and especially this song, but every time I have tried to listen to it I am left underwhelmed. I honestly couldn't even tell you how it goes, and I've listened to it a good handful of times

Daryle! I also admit I don't know much about him, but this song is beautiful, and is deserving of its top 10 ranking.
And awww, Ryan Hurd. I mean, number 8 is nothing to sneeze at, but I was hoping it would be in the top 5, especially since people think it is overrated. I assumed if some think it is, then there must be many overraters lol

Noooooooooooo!!!! What a devastating loss King George was actually my #1 until I randomly switched it on a whim the moment before I clicked "send" on my list. I have always loved this song, but it was never one of my favorite George songs. However, it has been hitting me SUPER hard lately... My mom passed away from cancer back on Valentine's Day, and now I don't think a song has ever impacted me more than this one does. The last time I was home to visit my mom back in late January/early February, she asked me to sit down and help her pick some songs for her funeral, because we all knew things were not going well, and of course I had a bunch of ideas because I know so much about country music. So we listened to a few songs, but this was by far the one that hit both of us the hardest. It's a very somber memory, but I will forever cherish that connection we made towards the end. This one followed by Reba's "If I Had Only Known" pretty much destroyed everyone in the audience at her service

"Time Marches On" has an overly simplistic structure that I could understand some people disliking, but it is such a jam! Tracy Lawrence is one of my favorite '90s vocalists, and I love the lyrics to this song as it describes the way the family ages and changes over time. It's so funny! So glad it made the top 10, but wish it could have been a #1 contender.

The melody of "Time Marches On" and the goofy lyrics to it are kind of grating for me. I like Tracy Lawrence, but this has never been one of his better songs and it's a bit overrated imo.
ETA: Nice to see Collin Raye go, too. Not really a fan of his.

"Little Rock" is SO good! But I am honestly surprised to see multiple #1 ranks for it, and I am also surprised to see it last so long. I know Collin has some very reliable tankers, so top 5 is quite impressive! However, the remaining 4 songs are such well-known classics, that I am not at all surprised or upset to see them outlast this one.

First of all, I'm thrilled that "Get To You" made it so far! It's a fantastic song and a perfect example of country at it's finest.
Secondly, as much as I adore George Strait, "You'll Be There" is definitely one of his weaker tunes and me ranking it at 16 was honestly a little generous on my part lol. It only made #85 on my list for George's rankdown. It's really good song though and I like it fine, but nowhere near my list of "go-to" George Strait songs.

Where do you think you would rank it in relation to the rest of the Somewhere Down In Texas album? You know, in case I were to theoretically launch a George Strait album rankdown soon

I honestly have no clue lol I'd have to sit down and actually rank the album and until you launch that... no.

ugh! "If I Could Make A Living" could have been 2 if it wasn't for one certain tanker! Boo.
"Dust On The Bottle" needs to gtfo already. Such an annoying "classic"

"If I Could Make A Living" is '90s country at its finest! I honestly dislike more Clay Walker songs than I like, and yet here it is in my top 5! SO happy to see it was a #2 contender, but I am just happy it managed to finish in the top 5 at all! This whole top 4 is perfect, but tbh I didn't see Clay getting the same level of support as any of the remaining three, so I'm not shocked. Also I will now formally announce that I am #teamtomorrow!!!!!!!!! Let's get Chris Young his first rankdown victory with his best song, y'all!!!

OMG!!!!! What a surprise!!!!! Just like everybody else, I thought this song was a lock to win!!!!! Amazing song, but definitely the most overplayed song in the top 5, so I felt like it would have been a bit too "obvious" of a winner. I think #1 will come down to which song born likes more... So I'm gonna go with the more modern song, and predict Chris Young for the win!

I have a ton of Gary cds, but Right Where I Need To Be, is not among among his best songs! In contrast, I usually dislike Chris, but Tomorrow is a wonderful song... STILL, none of those two deserves number one lol

DAMN, after Chris survived into the top 2, I was hoping he would be able to pull off a win!! Oh well, Gary is still a VERY deserving winner Both songs are amazing!

Was hoping for Chris Young to take this, but this is one of Gary Allan's better songs, so I'm still pleased. The whole Top 4 was fantastic.

Some stats for your viewing pleasure!!
This rankdown was the 53rd Country rankdown, and Gary Allan's "Right Where I Need To Be" is the 47th Country rankdown winner. On a 100 point scale, "Right Where I Need To Be" finished with an average score of 26.00. This makes it the 11th-worst-scoring country rankdown winner (meaning it is was probably a more polarizing winner. It had less top 5 ranks bringing down the average score, and more low ranks, etc.) The average score of all country rankdown winners is 20.59, which means the average rank for this #1 was about 5.5 positions lower than most other winners (on a 100 point scale). The second place song, "Tomorrow", has an average score of 28.17! That makes it the 15th least-agreed-upon #2 finisher. The average of all #2s is 25.35, meaning on average "Tomorrow" performed about 3 positions worse than your average #2 finisher. The difference between "Right Where I Need To Be" and "Tomorrow" was only 2.17 points, making this the 19th closest battle for the top out of all country rankdowns! The average difference between 1st and 2nd place is 4.77 points. 0 people ranked the winner of this at #1, making this the 5th country rankdown where that has happened! It previously happened in 2016 Country, 1997 Country, Dixie Chicks, and 2006 Country. This is the second one hosted by castleoblivion26, because he was the host of 1997
Now about our host! This was castleoblivion26's 11th country rankdown that he has hosted! This makes him the second most frequent country rankdown hosted, behind me with 14 rankdowns He revealed this rankdown at a speed of 7.14 songs per day. That makes this the 7th-fastest Country rankdown! His average hosting speed is 5.12 songs per day! Nice work!

Whoo! If Keith's gorgeous song couldn't win I'm very very happy Gary's jam was able to pull off the win!

I don’t know who that guy is nor do I remember how his song goes but I’ll take it! Decent results! Thank you for hosting castleoblivion26 !! That was super fun, I should do country rankdowns more often. I realized that I like male country more, which is kinda surprising since I’m snobbing the male pop stars.

Well, as bad as country is to females, some of us prefer male vocals in our music, and not necessarily means we dislike females
