Thunderpuss were a duo made up of American DJ Chris Cox (left) and Canadian DJ Barry Harris (right). Through 1998-2003 the duo were one of the most prolific and sought-after remix artists in pop music with more than 100 remixes of some of the biggest names in modern pop music before they parted ways. This list is a selection of their most recognizable works and some others I enjoy that might be a little less well-known. I'm going for an opt-in approach for this game, if it becomes a thing - in part because I don't have a clear idea of who to tag, and in part because I don't know who would be interested.

Sometimes, a remix can really affect the way you perceive a song, so a good remix might make a song you dislike ten times better. Inversely, a remix could ruin the song for you. In either case, please rank accordingly. You may love/hate a song, but if the remix is great/is s**t, don't base your ranking on the original.

This is going to be one of the harder ones to do because for the most part, I can only think of a couple of their mixes that weren't that good and even then they were technically on-point. They were so consistent.

"Love is a Crime" by Anastacia - the Thunderpuss remix basically made it a song.

And the criminally GOOD "I'm a Slave 4 U" remix. A mastery of a remix that I could not dance my ass off to any harder.

Obviously you'll all properly rank "It's Not Right, But It's Okay" or this rankdown is cancelled.

There were multiple mixes of "I'm A Slave 4 U" (the original and the Dark mixes) and "All For You" (original, Change It Up, Military, etc.), and if "No More Drama" makes it in, there were 2 main ones, the released one with the slow section in the middle and then the first promo version which is all at the higher tempo. One could potentially rank the original demo version of "It's Not Right But It's Okay" too as that is out there as well.

Okay should this list be the final draft? It's got 40 songs on it now with the extra additions of course, but this is probably gonna be a very 'niche' rankdown anyway (even more so than ARIA turned out to be).

I wouldn't mind making a series out of this with other remixers either - but let's not commit to that idea yet lmao I have other series and game ideas I also wanna do.

I think this current list is just right. The essential classics plus some slightly obscure/lesser known ones.

I like some of their less well-known ones like their Abigail, Ann Nesby, GTS/Loleatta Holloway, Inaya Day, Jennifer Holliday, Jocelyn Enriquez, Jordan Hill, Kristine W., Louchie Lou & Michie One, Luther Vandross, Shannon, The Tamperer, and Ultra Nate remixes.

Hani has sooo many unreleased mixes and bootlegs too.

I want to do a Junior Vasquez one, but it's going to be so hard to narrow it down to just 25, 40, or even 50 because there are close to 800 to 1000 mixes his name was attached to over a nearly 30 year career. But if I picked just 3 to 5 of the big ones of each major residency era (pre Sound Factory, Sound Factory, Tunnel, Arena, Twilo, Earth, Sound Factory Pt. 2, and present day), then it could be done.
