A cute song from a bygone era referencing a bygone movie not yet really well liked, influential or old enough to be nostalgic? I think they will ride out Taste till the end of the year, maybe try their luck with the clearly more buzzy/contemporary/on brand/of the moment stylings of Bed Chem, and if so/if not still have a whole new song ready to go from a re-release ready for Spring/Summer.

That seems like a strange thing to say about the movie. I guess I am a bit confused.
It received Oscar noms for Best Picture/Director/Actress and won for Original Screenplay Had a chart topping soundtrack $231 million WW
Picked as one of the best films from many critics for that year Still talked about in the news regarding its stance on abortion rights/etc. Has over 250,000 fan reviews on Rotten Tomatoes with a 88% average.
It was a very likeable movie that is still talked about to this day

Let me try and demystify then. I didn't say it wasn't a successful movie that didn't achieve a great lot of things. There's lots of other movies that made lots of money and had critical success that I don't think would be big enough pop-culturally to hang a whole song's success/hook around. 'Well-liked' is probably clumsy phrasing as it invites a counter-argument to suggest I don't think people liked Juno. What I mean is, I don't think it's source for sequels, endless pop-culture quotation, musicals etc. in the way, for instance, Legally Blonde was. Like I say, I think Juno as a movie is on the cusp of being too recent to have the nostalgia that the turn of the millennium touch points had. And no I don't think it permeated in the zeitgeist in the same why that oft-mined IPs like Mean Girls did. Furthermore, I think the song itself sounds dated/catchy early naughteens style, in a way that cries smash to millennials, but not to radio now or Sabrina's core-audience. Finally I just don't think she manages to land the plane with the reference. "I might you let me make a girl who didn't want to get pregnant, pregnant and very touchingly choose to give the baby for adoption to an older nice lady who can't have kids". Her songwriting is so often sharp and, building a whole song around a concept of Juno = pregnant, is just a bit of square peg in a round hole that doesn't quite work; the extent that so many of her turns of phrases and metaphors do. For non-singles left, there are couple of buzzier, more contemporary, more on-Brand-for-Sabrina, more popular streaming songs on the album and she'll likely go with them, as she should. So yes, 'strange' or not, I don't think Juno should or will be a single any time soon (nor do I think it should or will be a single at all).

Juno is also the name for Jupiter's wife and the queen of the gods in Roman mythology. Juno is easier to rhyme than Hera.
As someone who was in college when the film Juno was released, never saw it, and has no idea what the plot is, I think this song works just fine with only the idea of getting wifed up like Jupiter did with Juno.

Watched her VMA performance and loved it. The only thing that detracted from the performance had little to do with her, and more to do with the choices the showrunners made with the camerawork. If this were during the heydey of the VMAs they would have had a camera on Shawn and/or Camila ready to capture any sort of notable reaction to Sabrina's performance, especially during the "Taste" portion. Instead, we got (and did not need) multiple shots of random audience members singing along. Hearing them loudly singing along was more than enough to create a good mood/atmosphere.

That’s another qualm I’ve had with the VMAs. Where are the star reactions? Good for the audience that they’re having fun but like… we don’t care? Lol. Constantly seeing the fans in the audience is like, are we watching an award show or a concert?

I think they can get two more hits from the album but I also think there's nowhere for the singles to go but down in terms of success. They're burning a lot of demand daily with their streams. There's no way they blow up bigger than the first three without a remix.

Contrary to my stance when the album first dropped, I’ve definitely been converted to a bit of a Sabrina stan now. I mean this is just such a perfect pop album. Almost every damn song is a hit, that takes serious pop music making skill. I am convinced 10 of the 12 could’ve been released as one of the first 3 singles and all been sizable hits, about 7 smashes (including the 3 that already are). The art of hitmaking is way too undervalued. I take it back about not being AOTY nom worthy too.
Also, continuing with how much I still think this lifts from the CRJ playbook, Don’t Smile is definitely her take at an All That.

I feel a pull on my emotions every time Spotify autoplays "Taste" for me. This album era is unstoppable and she should be proud of the music she put together.

I feel like the criticisms around “Juno” here are kind of missing the point of the song, but then I just found out I’m two degrees of separation from her and might guess why she opted for the reference.
Spend 5-or-less minutes with a straight guy who falls somewhere between Gen Z and Alpha and you’ll hear them say something along the lines of “I want to put a baby in her.” I don’t think the song is so tied to the movie that she’s literally putting herself into a 1:1 spot. Rather, she’s using it as the framework to poke fun at of-the-moment straight men being dumb as hell, all while remaining short and horny as she is known to be.
Hyperfixating on the title is missing the forest for the trees - and inadvertently dating yourself.

Teased a duet with Christina Aguilera. I think it was a cover of “Genie In a Bottle,” but not sure if it was just for Instagram or if they’re actually planning on releasing it.
If she was going to cover Christina, I’d rather her have done “Candyman” or “Ain’t No Other Man” since those are more in her lane, but w/e.

What did Karla Caballero even say there though? All I heard was “warble warble warble”.

I think they are saying the shade is her refusing to say Taste in the clip when that is the lyric allegedly cause I don't listen to her and making that face. Maybe a reach maybe they know something but I don't keep with the Starbucks girls beefs to know

I saw their Instagram and was wondering why they were together! She's gonna sound fantastic on "What A Girl Wants"! Now that I think about it I'm not surprised her and Christina get on so well! I could see them clicking personality-wise!
Im already anxious for my girl's next release! I hope she keeps up momentum and aces her next release and solidifies her position as a main pop girlie!

Camila skipped over the word taste because the Sabrina song is supposedly about Shawn going back to Camila after briefly dating Sabrina . Camila was a fan of Espresso back in May when she called it the song of the summer.

“Taste” dropped four months after “Espresso” and I could see Camila feeling like she caught a stray. Now that I acquired the tea on the situation, Sabrina started it, but the song is so absurdly stupid that if I was Camila I would’ve laughed.

A Netflix Christmas Special! Very excited for this. I've said it elsewhere but I love that she seems to enjoy being a pop star and I love that she's striking while the iron is hot. Hopefully this means that the Fruitcake EP will be expanded to a full LP. As a side note, the first time I heard "Dumb and Poetic" I thought it sounded similar to a song on the EP, "Cindy Lou Who". Given what "Dumb and Poetic" is allegedly about, "Cindy Lou Who" now has some new context to it.

If this true then what if Sabrina x Mariah Christmas 🎁 song gives Mariah her 20 number one. Would AIWFCIY allow that or would it be a jealous bitch lol.
MC has been given us witty, hilarious lyrics for decades and Sabrina has been the new pop girl who brings it with the pen. may these two give us the most biting and shadiest Christmas anthem imaginable. Please Please please . I been begging the GAWDS for a Britney x Mariah Xmass song but instead I'll take this . Love Sabrina too.

There have been many instances over the last few years Mariah could have/should have gotten a #1 but for whatever reason, it was squandered. I won't get too excited yet but it would be awesome if she snagged #20!

I don't think mariah's had any song from 2010+ go top 10?
