The top 100 what? You mean the "Artist 100"? Isn't that based on Twitter mentions? The Artist 100 I think is a combination of the Hot 100, BB200 and the Social 50. I don't know how each component is weighted when they're added together, but it seems like it most closely resembles the album charts. Close: it's Hot 100, Top Album Sales, and Social 50. (As was pointed out in this thread, using both the Hot 100 and BB200 would mean double-counting of songs' points.)

Yes specifically The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Not that it'd put her in contention for the title but I imagine Gaga's touring numbers are pretty huge as well, especially if Billboard counts all touring from the start of the decade. For album sales (or better yet, consumption), do we have totals for these artists to evaluate? The lead that Taylor and Adele both have over everyone else there is going to be a lot to overcome, especially when Taylor also has had massive success with singles, touring, and social media. 2018 will be her 7th year in the year-end artist Top 10, likely her 6th in the Top 5. She *could* be #2 this with all of Reputation's sales and her massive touring, Post Malone be damned. I'm guessing Billboard will be using raw sales and streaming data? Or is there any "leveling" to account for the fact that album sales figures in 2010 and 2019 are very different, same for streaming? Considering the advantage of 'early 00s' artists (Eminem, Usher, Nelly) on the 2000s decade-end list, I'm guessing it's just the straight numbers as-is. Hot 1001 Rihanna 2 Drake 3 Taylor Swift 4 Bruno Mars 5 Katy Perry Billboard 2001 Adele 2 Taylor Swift 3 Justin Bieber 4 Drake 5 Lady Gaga Overall1 Taylor Swift 2 Drake 3 Adele 4 Rihanna 5 Justin Bieber If we're going by pure album sales looks like Taylor has the lead over Adele. I didn't include Taylor's EPs/Speak Now Live when I said she had 29.9m but with those it's 32m against 25.5m for Adele. And yeah, Lady Gaga's touring numbers are very strong at about $600m vs $610m-$620m for Beyonce and $628m for Taylor.

I'm estimating on all of these but... 21 - 11.2 25 - 9.5 19 - 2 mililon (can't be more than that in this decade) That amounts to 22.7 million sold - where's the other 3 million? For Taylor SN - 4.6 Red - 4.2 1989 - 6 Reputation - 2.1 That amounts to 16.9. Again, the above numbers might be slightly off and I know Fearless and her debut sold well into this decade but I can't imagine I'm off by 13 million. Or are you including track sales equivalents? Even then, I don't think Taylor has sold 130 million singles in the 2010s.

Even then, I don't think Taylor has sold 130 million singles in the 2010s. lol oops I forgot to exclude pre 2010 sales. According to the aTRL thread tracking this Fearless + Debut sold 2.85m in the US this decade. Her 4 latest albums have added a couple hundred thousand since your stats so around 20.0-20.5m total plus whatever Speak Now Live sold if that even gets counted. The same aTRL thread have Adele at 23.5m plus another 1m if you want to include her live video album. So you were right, Adele does have the lead. However, Eminem still had strong album sales with Recovery, MMLP2 and even his older albums selling about 3m at the start of the decade so he gets the 5th spot ahead of Lady Gaga. Some of the big country acts have over 5m in sales too, Luke Bryan can even go as far as challenging Lady Gaga. Adele: 23.5m Taylor: 20m Drake: 13m Justin Bieber: 12m Eminem: 10.5m Lady Gaga: 7.5m Bruno Mars: 6.5m Rihanna: 5m

Hot 1001 Rihanna 2 Drake 3 Taylor Swift 4 Bruno Mars 5 Katy Perry Currently I would say Bruno - Katy - Taylor, and I don't think there will be much change for Katy & Taylor with their next projects. Where's Justin though?

Where's Justin though? I have very little expectation of Taylor coming out ahead of Drake or Rihanna on the Hot 100 (barring some disastrous floppage from those two's upcoming projects) but I'm pretty sure Taylor's ahead of Katy Perry? Katy Perry's Teenage Dream hits + Roar & Dark Horse were bigger than Taylor's biggest hits but Taylor's released twice as much material this decade and it's all done better than Katy's Witness era. Taylor already has about 3x more Hot 100 points from the Reputation era than Katy had with Witness era. I can see her ending the era with 5-6x more and she's definitely in a better position for 2019. Justin probably comes behind Katy Perry. With Bruno and Taylor it's pretty close. I don't know how Billboard does it but if you give 50% points for collabs like I Don't Wanna Live Forever and 1/3 points for features like Nothin' On You and Both of Us and 50% points for lead roles with 2 features (End Game) or 25% if they're one of two features (Young, Wild & Free), then it's basically dead even. Although 24K era has been stronger than Reputation era Bruno Mars the difference isn't big enough to guarantee anything.

I know touring is a factor here but exactly how much?
Reputation is a down album compared to the ones that came before it.
Only a year and half left for this chart as well

Oh yeah I should have made it clearer, I think the top 5 will go Rihanna - Drake - Bruno - Katy - Taylor - (Justin). I remember Katy being 5 or 6 spots above Taylor in the All Time Hot 100 list, so I thought the gap, even though closed, might still be there. If Reputation did nearly as good as 1989, I would give it to Taylor for sure, but right now it's unclear to me. (Though I forgot about touring and Rep Tour is doing like 500X better than Witness The Tour so Taylor might be ahead already.)

(Though I forgot about touring and Rep Tour is doing like 500X better than Witness The Tour so Taylor might be ahead already.) That chart ended about a month before Wildest Dreams peaked so Taylor should get a decent amount of points since then. Using this: www.racpro.com/grid.php?pid=4&sid=49123&type=htTaylor Swift Wildest Dreams: 2014 pts Out of the Woods: 383 pts New Romantics: 286 pts I Don't Wanna Live Forever: 2695 pts Look What You made Me Do: 2065 pts Ready For It: 1231 pts Gorgeous: 148 pts Call It What You Want: 102 pts End Game: 708 pts Delicate: 607 pts Total: 10239 pts Total if giving only partial points for features: 8538 pts Katy Perry Feels: 1105 pts Chained to the Rhythm: 1051 pts Rise: 513 pts Swish Swish: 285 pts Bon Appetit: 125 pts Total: 3079 pts Total if giving only partial points for features: 1897 pts Looks like Billboard calculates Hot 100 points different from racpro (Jimmy's Charts) though because using Jimmy's Charts Taylor should have already been ahead in Oct 2015 when those All Time Hot 100 rankings were published (by over 10k points). Anyways, closing the gap by 7000 points or so is like the entirety of Speak Now's singles so I wouldn't be too quick to brush that off. At the same time, comparing the All Time Hot 100 vs the 10s means Taylor loses out on her Self Titled points and most of her Fearless era points which is quite a bit more than what Katy got from One of the Boys so idk.

Kanye West Rules the Artist 100 Chart For First Time, Powered by 'Ye'
News
By Xander Zellner | June 13, 2018 10:18 AM EDT
Plus, Luke Combs surges to the top five & Neko Case debuts.
Kanye West re-enters the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated June 16) at No. 1 to become the top musical act in the U.S. for the first time. Powering his return, his new album Ye debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as his eighth No. 1, with 205,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music.
The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
West previously peaked at No. 3 on the Artist 100 in 2016, when his last album, The Life of deleted, topped the Billboard 200.
West concurrently makes a splash on the Billboard Hot 100, as all seven tracks from Ye debut in the top 40. "Yikes" leads the way, debuting at No. 8, marking West's 16th Hot 100 top 10.
Below West on the Artist 100, Post Malone rises 3-2, Drake lifts 4-3 and BTS falls 2-4.
Closing out the Artist 100's top five, Luke Combs surges 17-5, hitting a new peak, as his This One's for You vaults 39-4 on the Billboard 200 (55,000 units, up 314 percent) after its deluxe reissue arrived June 1. The set also returns to No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart for a fifth week on top, and for the first time since September.
Among other Artist 100 moves, Neko Case debuts at No. 50, earning the chart's highest debut, as the singer-songwriter's Hell-On starts at No. 2 on Americana/Folk Albums, No. 5 on Top Rock Albums and No. 31 on the Billboard 200 (15,000 units).
Check out this week's full Artist 100 here.

Dave Matthews Band Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Artist 100 Chart
News
By Gary Trust | June 19, 2018 11:57 PM EDT
The group reigns as its new album 'Come Tomorrow' launches atop the Billboard 200.
Dave Matthews Band is the top musical act in the U.S., debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated June 23).
The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
DMB posts its first week atop the Artist 100 (which launched in July 2014), as its new album Come Tomorrow debuts as the band's seventh No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 292,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 14, according to Nielsen Music.
Over halfway through 2018, the act is the third rock band to top the Artist 100 this year, following Bon Jovi (March 10) and Fall Out Boy (Feb. 3). In all of 2017, seven rock groups led the list: Linkin Park, Imagine Dragons, Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and U2. That was up from four rock duos or groups in 2016 (The Lumineers, Blink-182, twenty one pilots and Bon Jovi) and just one in 2015 (Mumford & Sons).
Post Malone holds at No. 2 on the Artist 100, and Kids See Ghosts, the pairing of Kanye West and Kid Cudi, debuts at No. 3 as their collaborative album Kids See Ghosts opens at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 (142,00 units).
Rounding out the Artist 100's top five, Dierks Bentley blasts 78-4, as his new set The Mountain enters the Billboard 200 at No. 3 (102,000 units), and Drake drops 3-5.

Panic! at the Disco Rules Billboard Artist 100 For First Time
News
By Xander Zellner | July 05, 2018 11:06 AM EDT
Plus, BTS returns to the top 10 & Dan + Shay hit a new peak.
Panic! at the Disco vaults from No. 59 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated July 9) to become the top musical act in the U.S. for the first time. The move is powered by the group's sixth studio album, Pray for the Wicked, which launches at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
The Artist 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
Pray for the Wicked bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 180,000 equivalent album units earned in the tracking week ending June 28, according to Nielsen Music, scoring the group its second No. 1. The band previously peaked at No. 3 on the Artist 100 in February 2016, when prior LP Death of a Bachelor became its first No. 1 album.
Over halfway through 2018, Panic! at the Disco is the fourth rock group to lead the Artist 100 in 2018, following Fall Out Boy, Bon Jovi and Dave Matthews Band. In all of 2017, seven rock duos or groups led the list, up from four in 2016 and just one in 2015.
Rounding out the chart's top five, XXXTentacion dips to No. 2 after a week at No. 1; Post Malone rises 4-3; Drake climbs 5-4; and Imagine Dragons lift 6-5.
BTS returns to the top 10, leaping 12-7, fueled by the group's social media presence, as the K-pop superstars spend their 81st week atop the Social 50 chart.
Meanwhile, Dan + Shay reach a new peak on the Artist 100, vaulting 29-11, as the duo's self-titled third studio LP opens at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 44,000 equivalent album units.

Drake Returns to No. 1 on the Artist 100 For 27th Week
7/10/2018 by Xander Zellner
Plus, Guns N’ Roses re-enter at a new peak and John Coltrane debuts.
Drake leaps from No. 4 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated July 14) to become the top musical act in the U.S. for a 27th total week, as his album Scorpion launches atop the Billboard 200 with the biggest week of 2018 in overall units and shatters the one-week streaming record for an album.
Scorpion starts with 732,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 5, according to Nielsen Music, and logs 745.9 million on-demand audio streams in the U.S. for its songs.
Drake speaks onstage during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 28, 2016 in New York City. Read More Here Are All of Drake's Record-Breaking 27 Songs on the Hot 100 This Week
The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
Drake concurrently charts 27 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking his own record for most simultaneous entries on the chart.
On the Artist 100, only Taylor Swift has spent more time at No. 1, logging 36 total weeks. (The chart began in 2014.)
Most Week at No. 1 on the Artist 100 36, Taylor Swift 27, Drake 15, The Weeknd 11, Justin Bieber 11, Ed Sheeran 10, Adele

Since we don't really have sufficient data for the billboard 200, I decided to make a list of the RIAA album certifications for the 6 contenders starting from 2010(or 2009). Yes I do realize that most albums gather some of their certification units even when absent from the Billboard 200 chart and that albums from the previous decade obviously still chart on the 200 well into the next. Plus since the start of this month, RIAA and Billboard weigh units differently. Its extremely far from perfect, but it seems like the next best thing 1. ^I don't think Witness is eligible to be certified. It was estimated to have gotten 399k SPS for 2017.
