Random post so that the next reveal can be on a new page. Just a random guess but I expect to see "Hot Grease and Zydeco" out somewhere in the bottom 3...

I hear the music, Big Daddy’s place. Smell that gumbo comin’ through that old screen door. Fans are blowin’. Flies are buzzin’. People jitterbuggin’ on that hardwood floor.

Called it! I had a feeling this wasn't going to perform all that well and honestly I'm ok with it leaving now as it's never been a song I revisit much on this album. I do have to say though that George sounds like he's having a lot of fun on this one which makes it bit more enjoyable!

Nice job, tim! "Hot Grease And Zydeco" leaves us next. This swampy, infectiously catchy song is SO odd and unique in George's catalog! And yet somehow it has always managed to completely disappear on this album to me... I literally never remember this song or think about it, until that weird piano intro starts and I'm like "OH YEAH THAT EXISTS!!" So when I do listen to it, I really enjoy it. But I am not at all surprised or disappointed to see it so low. It doesn't belong among the more memorable album tracks from this album.

"Hot Grease" is good, just not great. Not upset about it being out now.

Well, imo, the obvious bottom 2 are out. If I didn't already know the results, I would probably be sitting here having no idea what the hell was going to happen next! So tim, LBTrocks, if either of you want to make a bold prediction, I'd be very curious to see what you think!

So tim , LBTrocks , if either of you want to make a bold prediction, I'd be very curious to see what you think! I think it'll likely come down to either "Out of Sight Out of Mind" or "Beautiful Day for Goodbye".

It won't necessarily be an unpleasant one though. For one of you...

These days broccoli don’t taste so bad, And neither does swallowin’ my pride. And I’m agreein’ more and more with my old man. Where’ve I been all my life?

Oh...yeah I almost had a hunch it was "Where Have I Been All My Life" and it just happened to be the song I was listening to now lol. Let's hope George doesn't look at these rankdowns because he would not be happy with this one as next to "Arkansas Dave" this is one of his favorite album cuts from this album.

I was SHOCKED with how this song performed here! I totally expected it to be one of the higher album tracks here, because I thought I remembered it being one of the most buzzed-about tracks when the album came out, alongside "Easy As You Go". Unfortunately for one of George, one of his faves just could not hold its ground here, and ended up falling outside the top 10 after looking like a lock to finish in at least the 7-8 range for the majority of the submission process.

Speaking for myself I've always really enjoyed this song and I also have some fond memories of seeing George perform this live quite a few times...it was obvious then he had a strong connection to the lyrics and I also feel the same myself. I still love to put this one on from time to time and kind of was hoping more of you would find the joy of this song.

Lmao of COURSE Flops would submit for the Twang rankdown a week after the deadline, and create a 3-way tie to kick off the top 10... Y'all ready to see what the hell damage Flops did with this fancy 3-way tie I alluded to yesterday?! #10 lost the 3-way tie because its highest rank was only a #2...

It's just not that good? lol this album is great but it DOES have a few songs that I would never purposely revisit. That said, I wouldn't necessarily change them when playing the album either. I mean it's George lmao, even him at his "worst" ain't that bad lol

It’s gettin’ hard to use a ladder ‘Cause I keep climbin’ down just to kiss her. And if she’s out of my sight For a minute or two I start to miss her. We stay all tangled up in each other’s arms, And it’s so nice. She talks in her sleep, But she always gets my name right.

HA! Well not as bad as I thought and I actually thought this one might be out in the bottom 3. This song is a JAM like LBTrocks said so at least castleoblivion26 and my fellow top 5'ers agree! This has become one of my favorite songs George performs live and I believe he still incorporates it into the setlist to this day. I also have to mention fellow songwriter Delbert McClinton who is considered by many to be the Godfather of Americana music!
