You can see from the trajectory graph that "Stranger Things Have Happened" was in last place for the majority of the submission process...and then somehow born's #4 vote was good enough to launch this all the way from bottom 3 to top 5  The back half of this rankdown was SO CLOSE, you guys! That's just yet another example of how close it was! This song has some pretty clever word play. It's based around the iconic cliched phrase, "stranger things have happened", which people obviously use to describe a scenario that is not out of the ordinary. But it is given a twist, because in this instance, the "stranger things" that have happened are the fact that a stranger is now holding his wife. You gotta love George's word play! It never fails, no matter how over-the-top cheesy it might be :) |

"Rhythm of the Road" and "My Old Flame" flip-flopped for practically the entire submission process for which would win the honor of being the highest album track from this album, and as you can see "My Old Flame" just happened to be victorious! Both these songs are really catchy, and I am just fine seeing them be the highest album tracks from this album. They are not among his all-time best, imo, but they are both among the best this album had to offer aside from the singles. Speaking of the singles, guess what our top 2 is!!!!!!!!  Who could have predicted this! Heading into the top 2, everybody has their #1 still in it except for George Strait Junkie and LBTrocks. However, TWO #10s still remain, courtesy of .indulgecountry and LBTrocks... Could it be possible for either of them to have put the #1 at #10??!?! Stay tuned to find out! |

I am very satisfied with the finish of this rankdown. "Nobody In His Right Mind Would've Left Her" has long been one of my favorite George hits of the '80s. I absolutely LIVE for the way his voice is produced in this song! The echoey production really does wonders in this case  |

Lol, thank goodness this won. "It Ain't Cool" is straight trash. I thought that it would bow out somewhere in the middle. I can't believe it managed to be runner-up, even if it was a distant second. Thankfully at least the far superior hit single won because "Nobody" is great!

3) Which songs belong in the top 5? All the singles on this one are great so I won't complain if all 4 of those land in there. At least 1 of "I Ain't Her Cowboy Anymore" and "He Must Have Really Hurt You Bad" need to make it in there too though.

I would just like to point out that being compared to LBTrocks is the furthest thing from an insult! He is a fantastic person who leads a successful life, has an amazing sense of humor, and obviously cares about the people in his life. And every once in awhile he chooses to hold opinions that are vastly different from everyone else, but we love him anyway :) He also dislikes "Independence Day", and I know for a fact that you would never hold an opinion that was THAT level of floppy... I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor, I hope everything is okay! :( |
