The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber hit their twelfth week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Stay’. Both Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ (#1 Dec. ’02) and Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’ (#1 Mar. ’14) have also spent twelve weeks in the top spot. Only five singles have spent more time at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
In its seventh week in the chart, the Elton John and Dua Lipa collaboration ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’ moves up one spot to hit a new peak at #2. The new position equals Dua Lipa’s career Singles Chart peak, previously set with both ‘New Rules’ (#2 Sept. ’17) and ‘Don’t Start Now’ (#2 Feb. ’20). It becomes Elton John’s outright second-highest charting single in the ARIA era (Jul. ’83-present), sitting only behind ‘Candle in the Wind 1997’ / ‘Something About the Way You Look Tonight’ (#1 Sept. ’97).
Debuting at #7, British band Coldplay and K-pop superstars BTS join forces for ‘My Universe’. The collaboration is set to appear on Coldplay's ninth studio album Music of the Spheres, scheduled for release on 15 October. It becomes Coldplay’s second chart entry for 2021 after ‘Higher Power’ (#44 May ’21) and their first Top Ten since their collaboration with The Chainsmokers, ‘Something Just Like This’ (#2 Mar. ’17). For BTS, it’s their fifth career Top Ten and the third in 2021 after ‘Butter’ (#6 May ’21) and ‘Permission To Dance’ (#6 Jul. ’21).
A week on from its debut at #23, ‘Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)’ by Nigerian singer/songwriter CKay moves up ten spots to hit #13. Last week, the track jumped from #23 to #9 in the UK.
Also debuting last week, Central Cee’s ‘Obsessed With You’ moves up ten spots to a new peak at #31 in its second week.
Oliver Tree makes his ARIA Top 50 debut at #49 with ‘Life Goes On’. The track comes from the American singer-songwriter/producer’s deluxe edition of his debut album Ugly Is Beautiful (#23 Jul. ’20), titled Ugly Is Beautiful: Shorter, Thicker & Uglier.

Debuting at #50, British producers Joel Corry and Jax Jones team up with Charli XCX and Saweetie for the track ‘Out Out’. To date peaking at #6 in the UK, it’s the fifth Top Ten in their homeland for both Corry and Jones.

‘Stay’ by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a 14th consecutive week. The track now sits outright third in the list of longest runs at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart (July 1983-present) behind Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ (15 weeks) and Tones and I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ (25 weeks).
In its fifth week in the ARIA Top 50, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shivers’ moves up one spot to hit a new peak at #4. It comes two weeks before the release of the single’s parent album, = on 29 October.
American duo The Anxiety take out a new peak at #13 with ‘Meet Me At Our Spot’. The track, which is also known as the ‘caught a vibe’ song from Tik Tok, was first released by the pair in March 2020.
Nine weeks into its run in the ARIA Top 50, ‘Love Tonight’ by Melbourne electronic duo Shouse has jumped eleven spots to score a new peak at #22. It’s the same peak the single has so far reached in the UK.
This week’s chart also features new peaks for Doja Cat’s ‘Woman’ (#16), Tai Verdes’ ‘A-O-K’ (#26), Oliver Tree’s ‘Life Goes On’ (#34), Joel Corry & Jax Jones’ ‘Out Out’ (#42), Arz’s ‘Alone With You’ (#43) and Walker Hayes’ ‘Fancy Like’ (#45).

I just realized that Heat Waves have been in the top 10 in Australia for 39 weeks and counting. It's just two weeks in the top 10 away from tying Dance Monkey's 41 weeks and will probably surpass it soon.

Yeah, US, UK, Germany, Japan are the 4 biggest charts imo, but the latter 2 are much harder for foreign artists to break into so they don't get brought up as much.

American band Imagine Dragons debut at #35 as they team up with rapper JID for ‘Enemy’ The track comes from the soundtrack of the animated streaming television series Arcane, which is set in the League of Legends universe. It’s Imagine Dragons’ first Top 50 entry since ‘Bad Liar’ (#20 Jan. ’19).
Taylor Swift’s 2010 track ‘Enchanted’ makes its ARIA Top 50 debut at #50. Featuring on Swift’s thurd album Speak Now (#1 Nov. ’10), the track has surged in popularity recently after going viral on TikTok.

This week marks 52 weeks in the ARIA Top 50 for Glass Animals’ ‘Heat Waves’. Debuting at #45 in December 2020, the track spent six consecutive weeks at #1 in March/April of this year. It’s spent all but one week since the start of February in the Top Ten. Its 44 weeks in the Top Ten hold the record for most weeks in the Top Ten on the ARIA Singles Chart (July 1983-present).
The steady climb of Acraze’s ‘Do It To It’ continues with the track moving up five this week to hit a new peak at #11. The remix of Cherish’s 2006 has entered the Top Ten on charts across Europe.
As has been the case since 2012, Mariah Carey’s 1994 track ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ makes its December return to the ARIA Top 50, hitting #18 this week. The festive season classic has managed to hit #1 on the chart in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

After returning to the chart last week at #35, Michael Bublé’s ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’ jumps up to 21 spots to hit #14. It’s ten spots below the peak the track reached in December 2019. Lower down the chart, Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ has moved to 18, while Ariana Grande’s ‘Santa Tell Me’ and Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree’ have re-entered at #31 and #49, respectively.
American neo-soul singer-songwriter SZA takes out her second Singles Chart entry for 2021 as ‘I Hate U’ debuts at #19. A demo of the track was released by SZA on Soundcloud in August before officially releasing it last week. Earlier in the year, SZA scored her highest peak with ‘Good Days’ (#7 Feb. ’21). More recently, SZA appeared as feature artist on the Doja Cat track ‘Kiss Me More’ (#2 May ‘21), which this week sits at #15.
Debuting at #26, Belgian DJ and record producer Lost Frequencies and British singer Calum Scott team up for the track ‘Where Are You Now’. It becomes the first Lost Frequencies track to hit the chart since ‘Reality’ (#35 Dec. ’15). For Scott, it’s his first Top 50 entry since ‘You Are The Reason’ (#27 Dec. ’17).
English singer-songwriters Ed Sheeran and Elton John debut at #27 with their duet ‘Merry Christmas’. Co-written by the pair, the song appears on the Christmas edition of Sheeran's = (#1 Nov. ‘21) as well as a new edition of John's The Lockdown Sessions (#2 Nov. ’21). It’s John’s second festive season single, coming 48 years on from 1973’s ‘Step Into Christmas’.
20-years-old American singer-songwriter Emmy Meli makes her ARIA Top 50 debut at #43 with ‘I Am Woman’. Not to be confused with the Helen Reddy track of the same name, Meli’s song gained popularity on TikTok, where it now has almost 22 million views.
