Moves by Ed Sheeran, Dove Cameron and more!

Three other tracks have spent a total of ten weeks at #1: Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ (#1 Dec. ’92), Sandi Thom’s ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)’ (#1 Sept. ’06) and LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ (#1 Apr. ’11).
In its 35th week in the Top 50, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bad Habits’ climbs three spots to #5. The move by the former #1 comes on the back of the release of a new version which sees Sheeran collaborating with hard rock band Bring Me the Horizon. The artists performed a version of the track together at the 2022 BRIT Awards.
After debuting at #31 last week, ‘Boyfriend’, the debut Singles Chart appearance for American singer/actress Dove Cameron moves up 16 spots to hit #15. To date, the track has also peaked in the Top 20 in the UK and New Zealand.
Frank Ocean’s ‘Lost’ moves up one more spot, claiming a new peak at #16.
This week’s chart also features new peaks for Tate McRae’s ‘She’s All I Wanna Be’ (#19), Tiësto & Ava Max’s ‘The Motto’ (#24) and Jnr Choi’s ‘To The Moon’ (#32).
American hip hop artist Jack Harlow takes out his second solo Top 50 entry as he debuts at #36 with ‘Nail Tech’. It’s Harlow’s first solo entry since ‘Whats Poppin’ (#8 Jul. ’20). Between solo hits, he collaborated with Lil Nas X on ‘Industry Baby’ (#4 Sept. ’21), which has spent 31 weeks in the chart and currently sits at #10.
Singer-songwriter Em Beihold makes her ARIA Singles Chart debut with ‘Numb Little Bug’. The track has made waves on TikTok, where it’s been used in more than 60,000 videos. It’s Beihold’s second viral hit on the social platform; her track ‘Groundhog Day’ was popular on TikTok in 2021.
Following his appearance at the Superbowl, Eminem returns to the chart with ‘Without Me’ (#44) and ‘Lose Yourself’ (#46).

Music content data added to all ARIA Charts involving streaming
The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) today announced YouTube data used for official music content will be included in charts from Friday, 4 March.
The data will be collected from logged in users and contribute to all charts that involve streaming.
ARIA Chief Executive Officer, Annabelle Herd, said: “We’re very excited to be able to continue our successful partnership with YouTube and thank them for their cooperation in helping us to depict an even broader picture of Australia’s music consumption week to week.
“YouTube has previously provided data to assist in the preparation of our Streaming Audio Visual Tracks chart, but this development brings their data into play across a much greater range of charts alongside our other streaming partners including AppleMusic and Spotify.”
The data contribution comes after a significant period of testing undertaken in collaboration with YouTube.
YouTube Music AUNZ Music Content Partnerships Manager, Marion Briand, said: “The way Australian fans engage with their favourite music continues to evolve. We know millions of Australians watch music videos each month on YouTube, so it is thrilling to know this data will now be included in the ARIA charts. We’re hugely proud of our work and partnership with ARIA and are excited to see where it goes next.”
All streams that contribute to multi-format charts are subject to an average economic weighting factor that seeks to convert streams into digital sales equivalents. ARIA routinely reviews these conversion factors and updates them in line with movements in the market.

Barring something truly unforeseen, the Year End #1 on the ARIA chart is going to be one of the following: Cold Heart, Stay, or Heat Waves. I think this YE Top 3 is locked, and the only thing left to answer is in what order.

INXS kick another chart milestone with The Very Best, the Australian alternative rock band’s career retrospective.
On the latest ARIA Albums Chart, the best-of its enters week 375 in the Top 50, and a whopping 500 non-consecutive weeks in the Top 100. The 20-song set lifts 60-49, on the national survey for the week of April 4, 2022,.
The 500-week feat “is an absolutely phenomenal achievement, even if you happen to be one of the greatest and most iconic bands Australia has ever seen,” comments Annabelle Herd, CEO of ARIA, in a statement.
“500 weeks is an incredible honor and just shows the appreciation of such an incredible album,” adds Andrew Daw, executive VP, international marketing at UMe, Universal Music Group’s global catalog company. The presence of the band’s late manager Chris Murphy “is always felt on all INXS projects, and we are proud to passionately continue his work,” he continues.
Released in 2011, the hits collection features such classics as “Never Tear Us Apart,” “Original Sin” and “What You Need.” Along the way, the collection ruled the national tally for seven weeks, came in at No. 1 on ARIA’s End Of Decade Australian Albums Chart and, in November 2020, was awarded ARIA “Diamond” status, for combined sales in-excess of 500,000 in Australia.
With the latest milestone in the books, Herd thanks the band for “their enormous contribution to the Australian recording industry.”
INXS’ contribution continues to grow. Across a 45-year career, the new wave legends sold over 60 million record sales worldwide, according to their label, Petrol, and bagged No. 1s on both sides of the Atlantic.
Formed in Perth, Australia and led by the charismatic Michael Hutchence, the rockers scored six U.K. top 10 albums (including a No. 1 with Welcome To Wherever You Are from 1992) and five U.S. top 20 albums. At the peak of their powers in the late 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s, INXS was one of the biggest stadium acts on earth.
To celebrate the new milestone, the act releases a special “500 Weeks” t-shirt. And for another milestone, the 35th anniversary of Kick, a special immersive audio edition on Apple Music.
Giles Martin, the British-born music producer, composer and arranger, and son of the late, great Beatles producer George Martin, helms the new Kick ATMOS version.
Martin was tapped by INXS in 2018 to creative duties as executive music director, on projects such as this.
“We are thrilled to partner with our good friend and world renowned producer Giles Martin once again, he is an expert in the world of spatial audio and I believe he has taken Kick to an exciting new dimension 35 years on,” INXS guitarist Tim Farriss says in a statement to Billboard.
“Hearing every intricate detail in the immersive mix, took us back to when we first recorded the album live in the studio, it’s like listening to it for the very first time! It’s a ‘must-have’ addition to the original mixes by Bob Clearmountain and Chris Thomas.”
Kick went on to become the group’s highest and longest-charting album in the U.S., with a peak of No. 3 on the Billboard 200. It remained on the chart for 81 weeks, and four of its singles – ‘New Sensation,’ ‘Never Tear Us Apart,’ ‘Devil Inside’ and the No. 1 ‘Need You Tonight’ – cracked the Top 10.
Though INXS called time on touring several years ago, the surviving band members continue to add new chapters to the band’s story.
In recent times, the musicians and their late frontman have been the subject of documentaries, docudramas, and their works soundtracked the short film Original Sin – The 7 Sins.
INXS was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001, four years after the death of Hutchence, aged 37. The band has been eligible for induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame since 2006, though, to date, their name hasn’t been called. Many argue that it’s long overdue.
