I hope GLY will break the record, just because you're crying around in these threads for weeks now about it.lmao At least I am discussing relevant things? Also... Iris is a timeless song. GLY is a horrid piece of trash that is a flash in the pan. Next maybe you noticed that the most people here in this thread are talking about Ariana getting her first #1,so nobody really cares about iris record being broken or not, smh. You're the only person in these threads that's making a drama out of a "radio record". Should we declare a state of emergency for you? Would that make you happy😂😂

I get that this forum is full of gays who love females but there is no objective way to say that Torn is somehow more creative than Girls Like You. They're both the same type of bland guitar driven pop rock that plays at H&M while you shop once every year for the rest of your entire life. Thinking "Girls Like You" is pop rock. I get that Wikipedia calls it this, but it also says Levine's vocals span G4 to A5, so...

20 years from now, we may also call GLY timeless rather than a 'horrid piece of trash' - ya never know

Ariana debuted with 460,000 copies sold with “thank u, next” in the US. Stfu, no way! that's about 100k more than Look What You Made Me Do sold in it's first week. He means sales plus streaming I assume, it probably only sold about 60k digital copies.

What was the last time a song debuted with so many streams and sales? "Nonstop?" "God's Plan?" I believe Psycho

I thought we left Crazy Frog back in 2005... Youtube has a separate app for kids that frequency recommends stuff like Crazy Frog, Gummy Bear, Wheels on The Bus, etc. At least, that’s what I read somewhere. Yeah that app also recommends stuff like this...

Yeah that app also recommends stuff like this... Elsa/Spider-Man Injections/Surgeries Fetishes Weird Families Crappy and inappropriate animations of baby versions of popular characters getting injured. Yep, those are what's plaguing Youtube nowadays. Stick to Netflix kids.

YouTube is such a weird streaming platform. The amount of Latin music and kids stuff that gets huge kinda scares me

They are have 69 million subscribers and are close to beating PewDiePie, I think they were caught sub botting cuz they went from getting 10 million subs every week to around 300k a week.

They have been charting pretty consistently for 15 years.

Other countries still use Youtube to stream music, instead of Spotify, but it’s still regular people using it. The latin songs that smash on Youtube are usually actual global hits. Go to any country outside the US and ask someone if they know Chantaje. The absolute dominance is not what I would expect on face value

YouTube's dominative genres make sense, because those audiences don't use Spotify/Apple Music.
Spotify/Apple Music is virtually unknown or unavailable in Asia, in Latin America they're still getting on board or a lot of people simply can't afford subscriptions, and toddlers/kids obviously don't have streaming accounts.
In US its become pretty similar to SoundCloud, before they focused on being a premium centered service and were a mixtape/underground Rap type service. It's dominated by Hip-Hop even more than Spotify/Apple Music because it appeals to the low-income Urban-area demographic that doesn't want to pay for streaming.
'YoungBoy Never Broke Again' is the most streamed artist of the past entire year on YouTube US, even beating Drake/Post Malone/Ed/etc despite him never having a real chart hit.

Some flash. Some pan.

yeah I get yiu disliking the song but to say it's a flash in the pan is just factually wrong. The fact that people here are actually upset it's been number this long kinda disproves the flash in the pan thing. Over 20 straight weeks in the top 5, over 14 weeks at number one on radio. I don't see people calling In My Feelings a "flash in the pan" yet it did even less than GLY, longevity wise
