I don't like streaming, but I'm glad that a non-rap song can be in the top 5.

Hasn't there consistently been at least one song with little to no rapping in the top five for, like, several months? Read that as: tracks where the main component is singing, so it would include "Girls Like You." Between "Without Me," "thank u, next," "Sunflower," "High Hopes," "Happier," "Girls Like You," etc this has to be the case. A track doesn't need Max Martin to produce it for it to be a certified rapless pop song. Even if you want to discredit GLY because of the five second Cardi B verse, then you've still got all the others listed above.

Happy 31st Birthday, Rihanna.
Isn’t it incredible that the Girl who released “Pon De Replay” at age 17 in 2005 went on to become the BIGGEST Hot 100 Artist of the Century (thus far) and is now one of the top ten BIGGEST Hot 100 Artists of All-Time 14 years later? The Best-Selling Digital Artist of All-Time and the Most Certified Female Artist ever whom has transitioned into the Streaming period as easy as it is breathing?
I specifically remember circulating forums during the “Music of the Sun” era when I was still in secondary school and almost everybody thought she was a ‘fluke’. I specifically remember calling my local Pop radio station and requesting that they play “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want” and downloading it at least a dozen times off iTunes and storing them on my iPod.
Then came 2006 but MORE IMPORTANTLY 2007 and, well...
An undisputed music, fashion & style icon of the Millenial Generation and an entire soundtrack to an era.
_______
Hurry up and release #R9, B*tch. Love You.

Rihanna is a big star but...what about the voice? At least Ariana has got one although i am not necessarily loving it.

I made a thread in the pop forum a few years back with a list of artists with the widest ranges of hits from first hit to most recent. It was inspired by the then-recent number of artists who had been getting major pop hits even though their career ‘peaks’ seemed to have happened over a decade earlier. Nelly, J Lo, Enrique, etc. It seemed to me that more artists were having late-career hits more frequently than they were in the late 90s. I should find that thread again.

If Adele's comeback single is a Drake collab, ooof rip the charts I feel like the lead single for her next album will have a massive debut regardless, but for some reason, I feel like it might perform like Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do: debut with high numbers, but quickly fall off (granted, Taylor has never been one to score long-running #1 singles, but still). I hope I'm wrong. I think her manager or someone close to her said not too long ago to some publication that she "took chances on her next album", whatever that means. I'm guessing it won't be mostly ballads like her albums usually are. A Drake collab would be amazing. I completely adore the both of them.

Please Me is shaping up to be a HUGE radio hit. Still early to tell. Chained To The Rhythm debuted at #35, next week moved to top 20 and then peaked at #9 only.

Please Me is shaping up to be a HUGE radio hit. Still early to tell. Chained To The Rhythm debuted at #35, next week moved to top 20 and then barely made it to the top 10. What's the obsession with those comparisons? CTTR never had urban and RHY support such as this.

^First week radio audiences should be taken with a grain of salt due to the effect of, cough, payola. I'd rather go on what happens on the second week onwards to tell whether a song has a chance to eventually have huge audiences on radio.

If Adele's comeback single is a Drake collab, ooof rip the charts Like Beyonce/Eminem, Taylor/Ed/Future, Kanye/Nicki/6IX9INE, Rihanna/Shakira, Drake/MJ, etc lol? A star collab will never guarantee a smash.

Yeah, two super stars collaborating doesn't guarantee a #1 spot.

Collaborations don't guarantee hits but given the power both of them have right now, and obviously depending on the quality of the song, a Drake/Adele collab would probably be closer to "One Sweet Day" than "When You Believe". The curiosity of such a pairing would all but guarantee a top ten debut at least, whether or not it went anywhere from there.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction: they are just friends and no song is coming. Adele has been very cautious with collaborations (you won't find any on her albums so far).
If it happens I guess it's more likely to be for Drake's next album. He does his usual thing and Adele does the chorus.

America: We support (alleged) murderers! Does this surprise you? People hear the news story, and when they find out that the alleged murderer has a song literally called Murder on My Mind, obviously they're gonna go check it out

Rihanna will be releasing an album this year. Do you guys think that she’ll be able to break and set more records than Ariana Grande’s album thank u, next?
