Not a bad idea. IMO we should do this for all other types of Rankdowns too, or maybe another newer main rankdown thread.

You guys couldn't let "Sexual Healing" make top ten They didn't even let "Poison", "Round and Round" nor "Photograph" make the top 10. No love for the Glam/Hair Metal classics.

This is going to be one of the most stacked rankdowns. I don’t know how I’m going rank these out of 100. I can’t wait to see the big upsets.

Going to start tagging for this now but there is no rush with this. Wanting you all to get a good feel for this list for now. I did a quick look to see who all participated in any one of the Billboard 80's Rankdowns. Hopefully I didn't miss many of you and if you'd like to be tagged in future reminders let me know!
For those that don't know, the below list is based on the Top 10 results from each of the Billboard 1980's Rankdowns as established by Pulse members.
I briefly tried to rank the list and got an immediate headache.
This one is TOUGH but...
The List
Blondie - Call Me Michael Jackson - Rock With You Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall Diana Ross - Upside Down Lipps, Inc. - Funkytown Gary Numan - Cars Pretenders - Brass In Pocket Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker Michael Jackson - Off The Wall Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love Queen - Another One Bites The Dust Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes Blondie - Rapture Hall & Oates - Kiss On My List Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot Stevie Nicks w/Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Stop Draggin' My Heart Around Kool & The Gang - Celebration Dolly Parton - 9 To 5 Abba - The Winner Takes It All Foreigner - Urgent The Human League - Don't You Want Me Soft Cell - Tainted Love A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran Stevie Nicks - Edge Of Seventeen Hall & Oates - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - I Love Rock 'N Roll The Police - Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic Men At Work - Who Can It Be Now? can you add me to the tag list? I think I'll give this a shot; the other 80s rankdowns have kinda scared me due to the large amount of tracks I didn't know but I feel confident I can do this

I’ll try to do this, pretty solid list. If someone can make a playlist that’d be awesome! Here you go! I had put this together a couple of weeks back and just added the 1982 songs. I wasn't sure when this was going to be due and I knew I was definitely going to have to re-familiarize myself with many of these songs. Boy, is this going to be a hard one!

This is going to be so hard. I participated in all 10 yearly rankdowns and 8 of my #1s made it into this list (only Let's Dance and Would I Lie To You didn't make it). Exactly 50 of these songs I ranked in my top 10s. This is impossible.
There are 10 Michael Jackson songs, 7 from Prince and 6 from Madonna. I only hope the top 10 is not exclusively made up of Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna songs.

I had the same #1 count (missing "Hold On Tight" in 1981 and "Steppin' Out" in 1983), but 3 less top 10s (although in retrospect a certain song in 1984 really should've been in my top 10). Doing so badly in 1986 and 1988 really hurt the top 10 count for me. In terms of bottom 50s, I had...6. So the bottom of my list is going to be pretty easy to figure out, at least. EDIT: Damnit some of the song lists were Artist - Title and others were Title - Artist...an extra layer of complication

I’m looking forward to this. Only problem is idk how I’m going to rank all of these great songs. Their is a very minimal amount of songs I’m indifferent on here.

I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner didn't make it? How? It didn't even make the top 40 in the 1985 rankdown, never mind the top 10.

Top 100 Of The 1980's
Official first tag.
Tentative deadline date of June 1, 2019.
1. Inverse Point system will be used (i.e. rank singles 1-100).
2. You must rank all the songs (if there's a remix you prefer, you can use that for your ranking instead, you don't have to specify whether you did).
3. PM me your rankings. Please do not use numbers. I will know the first song on your list is No. 1 and so on...it makes it easier for me when I spreadsheet it.
4. Manage your time wisely please. Deadlines are deadlines. I will send plenty of reminders, don't worry...
