You guys couldn't let "Sexual Healing" make top ten To be fair, neither did Something About You or Our House. I'm working my way through this and the 100 songs here will have to deal.

I'll try to finish my list for this.
Anyways... kinda surprised how many of these songs feel too long. Like 1/4 of them drag on to the point where it feels too repetitive to me.

Is an extension okay? I'll try to get it in on time regardless.
I also have one question. How did Who Can It Be Now make the list but not Down Under? Wasn't Down Under more popular and way more iconic?

Wasn't Down Under more popular and way more iconic? Looks like Down Under was #13 in its year compared to #8 for Who Can It Be Now. I think the songs from 1983 were better so tougher competition for Down Under. Top 20 for each year The Billboard 1983 Rankdown Michael Jackson - Billie Jean Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) Toto - Africa Prince - Little Red Corvette Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf Michael Jackson - Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' Michael Jackson - Beat It The Police - Every Breath You Take Prince - 1999 Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse Of The Heart David Bowie - Let's Dance Daryl Hall and John Oates - Maneater Men At Work - Down Under Dexys Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen Michael Jackson - Human Nature Spandau Ballet - True Irene Cara - Flashdance... What A Feeling Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing Stevie Nicks - Stand Back Michael Sembello - Maniac The Billboard 1982 Rankdown Don't You Want Me - The Human League Tainted Love - Soft Cell I Ran - A Flock Of Seagulls Edge Of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - Daryl Hall and John Oates I Love Rock 'N Roll - Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic - The Police Who Can It Be Now? - Men At Work Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor Hurts So Good - John Cougar Private Eyes - Daryl Hall and John Oates Our Lips Are Sealed - The Go-Go's Let's Groove - Earth, Wind and Fire Shake It Up - The Cars Centerfold - The J. Geils Band Working for the Weekend - Loverboy Heat Of The Moment - Asia Hold Me - Fleetwood Mac Young Turks - Rod Stewart Only The Lonely - The Motels

This was really hard to rank with so many great songs, 4 artists had songs on both my top ten and bottom 10.

Done; about to submit my rankings. This list is impossible, I swear I've f**ked up my rankings somehow, but if I re-do and revise them, they'd just end up f**ked up in a different way so there's just no winning. Welp.

Wow, battle of the amazing songs, this took alot of strength for sure. Even the songs I ranked in the late 90s aren't that bad to me. Heart's, 'Alone' should be here, to me it's a glaring omission from this list. So let it be an honourable mention - not only because it's legendary but because it was the song of the summer of 1987 (at least in Canada/US), finished at #2 on Billboard's year end and the vocals slay so much that it's still used as a benchmark often attempted yet rarely reached on talent reality shows today. Carrie Underwood got it on Idol and look where she went. It merited a spot in the final 100 at least, sigh.
Alas, EPIC list!

If you go with honourable mentions you should maybe consider using whatever went #11-15 in each of the ten different rankdowns that made up this list? (Although that's 50 extras which is... big lmao)

^Iβve toyed with the idea of doing another Top 100 for the songs that landed between 11-20 but that sort of feels redundant (unless there is interest in that).

That would be redundant IMO. It would serve as simply another kick in the can for those songs that some might feel deserved a higher rank in the annual RDs. You've already put a lot of work into this and this list reflects the collective taste of the participants (good or bad). It is what it is. Hopefully, everyone who participated in the annual RDs will submit for this one. It will be interesting to see if the ranking of songs in any given year will be significantly different from your annual results. Attachment Deleted

It's not redundant if I can get to put "Shake It Up" at #1. but seriously it wouldn't beuseless at all. Most of the list would be songs that are not by the big 5 icons of 1980's and could prove to be an interesting RD. That's my thoughts.

Frankly, it's up to you whether to do another 1980s list with the 11-20 entries. Wouldn't mind another chance to rate Something About You highly.
On the last song for this list. Ranking to come soon.

Done. Time to piss people off and get worst closeness! I really wonder what my SD will be like. I ranked songs by some of the 80s icons in the top 10 and others in the bottom 10. I have no idea how well liked most of these songs are on pulse since this is my first 80s RD and I didn't look at the results for the individual year end RDs.

The placement and years are in the first post, the first 10 are 1980 (With #1 being first and #10 being last) and just go by every group of ten :)
