So according to Billboard, "You Need To Calm Down" was a bigger hit than "Delicate" overall. Interesting.

So mamy gems, and of course that doesn't include underrated cuts like "Out of the Woods", "All Too Well", "Haunted" and "Getaway Car".

So according to Billboard, "You Need To Calm Down" was a bigger hit than "Delicate" overall. Interesting. Also according to Billboard: a song gets more than double the points for being #10 compared to #11 despite the fact that the difference in consumption is usually only 2-5% Considering Delicate spent so much time in the teens and twenties, that explains a lot of their ranking. Delicate was definitely far bigger on radio, YNTCD got around 1.3 billion AI while Delicate got more like 4.5 billion AI, and pretty sure Delicate sold more pure too. YNTCD did better on streaming but even though Delicate didn't peak as high on streaming it had pretty decent longevity so we'll see if YNTCD's strong streams for its first few months translate into streaming longevity.

Laughing off facts because they don't fit your narrative? Lol ok gorl. How is that exactly my narrative? It was Billboard that ranked the song higher with an article literally ranking her songs least to most successful. I merely commented on it. Stay in your lane, gorl.

The way you just said "lol ok girl" when your post was challenged with an explanation as to why the song was ranked higher sounded bad in tone. You don't have to like Delicate (YNTCD), but if you're going to laugh off the explanation, then perhaps you should also be staying in your lane. Now can we all just support our fave and stream the music?

Firstly, I wasn't laughing due to the facts he presented. That's conjecture. If people assumed such, they could have merely asked so it could be cleared up. Secondly, I don't need an attitude check from someone who gives any and everyone an attitude day in, day out over nearly everything. With that said, it is all I will say on the matter. My apologies to Nick if he was offended by my remark. I am not going to further derail an entire thread and keep this petty back and forth going due to people being offended by a mere three word response and I am certainly not gonna be a willing participant of a typical Pulse dogpile. Respond how you will. I'm good. :)

Has it been mentioned that Taylor will not be nominated for an Oscar? Beautiful Ghosts wasn’t on the Academy’s short list of original songs.

I don't think it has been mentioned, but if the song wasn't on the shortlist does that ruin its chances? If so, the Academy dropped the ball and shattered it into pieces. Beautiful Ghosts deserves an Oscar.

Yes, only songs on the short list will be nominated. Taylor is not there.

You've been trying to paint YNTCD as a much larger hit than Delicate for awhile now in multiple threads, don't try to play this off as something else other than that. Not to mention all Nick did was add to the discussion and you immediately felt the need to discredit it and brush it off. No one had a problem with your first post. It was the second snarky remark towards a damn explanation of the stats that puts you in a bad light. Nick's post literally said nothing negative and had no opinions presented. It was literally all facts. And your response was "lol ok gorl" as if Nick had just made some outrageous claim that went against what you said. No amount of quips and misspellings you throw out to attempt to be funny or cute will change these facts. This isn't the White House.

I guess I have been letting personal situations make me snarky about even the most mundane of things. I could absolutely see how my response came across as dismissive and unnecessary. My apologies to everyone.

Fun fact: She wore that same top earlier this year, when we were just months away from the lead single of Lover. I wonder if that was intentional in some way?

Fun fact: She wore that same top earlier this year, when we were just months away from the lead single of Lover. I wonder if that was intentional in some way? I say again that March 13, 2020 is a Friday. (Taylor's favorite number) Someone in here did also mention at one point that at the 4:17 mark on "Daylight," the spoken word outro repeats itself and Taylor says "I'm afraid of" twice like this: " Not the things I'm afraid of I'm afraid of."April 17, 2020 just so happens to also be a Friday. We know Taylor is as calculated as can be (that can be a good thing or a bad thing as we witnessed in 2016). Yes, she may have crafted her albums to come out every two years on the dot; however, the three year wait for reputation threw that cycle off and now that she is a free agent and can do what she wants with her craft, her release cycles are now wildly unpredictable. We do also know that this woman does not do a damn thing on accident. And since we also know now just how quickly Taylor can write and record great music (Christmas Tree Farm was written recorded and released within DAYS; she wrote it on Thanksgiving weekend and it was out December 6!) it would not surprise me in the least if she pulled an Ariana and released the TS8 lead on March 13 and the album on April 17.

I would absolutely love a new studio album in 2020, but with the tour called Lover Fest, I wonder if its just Lover (Deluxe) with 3-4 new songs, including a single for Spring (before Cruel Summer in Summer).

Seriously though, do we think the album will have any more singles? I'm thinking the era is done already (besides Lover Fest).

If there really is a new album in the works, then I firmly believe we won't be getting another single.
If there isn't one, "The Man" is likely coming, and I feel that's a bad choice, but it is what it is. I would personally go with "False God," "Afterglow," or "Miss Americana."

Here for a new album in 2020 if she gives us more material that’s similar to “False God” or “Afterglow” as opposed to some of the other, cornier fluff on Lover.
(Also, on an unrelated note, I’ve been coming back to “Clean” a lot lately and ugh I’m obsessed all over again)
