I’m so happy that Billboard caught that the song “Lover” is kind of...mocking. Like, it’s intentionally a bit ridiculous. It’s an aspect of the song that I feel like doesn’t really get mentioned.

That speech was unreal. Who was in the audience for these things? They didn’t seem to love it. But, gosh, if this is the Taylor moving forward I am all in. Don’t hold back. Keep breaking walls.

Taylor said what she said. The fact that she quite literally called out the private equity sector.. a living legend doing the work that the other superstars refuse to.

While some others are out there selling makeup and collecting those Avon checks she's doing the Lord's work for the young women of the music industry. Truly a legend

Seriously, that speech was everything I hoped it would be. She finished the decade and her 20s by addressing all the negative criticism and backlash she received, and also spoke out about inequality in the entertainment industry. To me, it seems like she got everything off her chest and wants her 30s and the next decade to be one without any drama. But I'm certain she will continue to fight for what's right and use her voice for good for as long as she has to. That's why I love her.

Taylor’s best play to undercut her ‘old’ music is to re-record her 25 best tracks (hits + couple of rarities/album tracks that could be used as ‘new’ radio singles) and issue as a GH compilation. That way it shows up as a NEW product on streaming/retail. It would create a higher demand than reissuing the same albums that millions already own. And since Taylor’s base does buy her product, a new package would have higher appeal. By cherry picking her most popular tracks, it would siphon away steams/sales of the current owners’ biggest revenue generators.

If she throw in some unreleased songs from each era, or maybe different arrangements for select songs from her old albums as bonus tracks on otherwise fully re-recorded albums (similar to acoustic bonus tracks on her albums like State of Grace, Haunted, Forever & Always), could that also get it to show up as new? I wonder if Big Machine owns the album covers and if she'll need to make new ones.

I love her and no one is perfect, but a few parts of that speech were incredibly narcissistic and I cringed for her.
I'm thinking about the part where she she repeatedly used the word "Me" in re: not being consulted re: the acquisition of Big Machine. I get that it's about you from your perspective Taylor, but it actually isn't always about you, or just you, and to view it as such...let's continue with therapy.
I struggle with narcissism too so I am triggered when I see it in others, don't @ me. I also see a therapist and don't mean that as a dig - it's everything and we all should.

Taylor gave a fantastic speech and I'm glad she was brave enough to take such a strong stand and speak out about the things that have happened.

The music, the covers, the creative packagings, even the YouTube videos.

I'm losing hope. She's gonna perform at Madison Square Garden in two hours. I hope she's giving us something today. Also, I'm hoping for a "False God" or "Cornelia Street" performance like she did with "London Boy" when she was in London.

Wait - why is Taylor supposedly releasing music today? Where is this even coming from? It's her 30th birthday, the 13th, and a Friday. No other reason, really.

To be fair, May 13th was also stamped on the calender yet there was absolutely nothing released.

To be fair, May 13th was also stamped on the calender yet there was absolutely nothing released. Oh I know. I'm just confused that everything she does seems to lead people to think new music is coming every other day. And for some reason, HITS or something is in on it with the rumours. I would be shocked if Taylor released a new album before next fall at the absolute earliest and even then I doubt she'd have something ready that soon.

You're probably tired of me saying the same thing over and over again but I can't see her releasing anything other thana trailer for her documentary or maybe a music video. There's not gonna be any new, non Cats - related music.
But about two weeks ago I said the same about her then rumored Christmas song and she put out a few days later lol

While some others are out there selling makeup and collecting those Avon checks she's doing the Lord's work for the young women of the music industry. Truly a legend And certain others are trying to diversify the beauty/Lingerie industries and make it more inclusive for all! Positive impact/change can go further then just one industry. Otherwise congrats to Taylor what a speech, very well deserved! Nicki's speech also was amazing.

Okay, can we stan I Think He Knows a little? Because no other song exemplifies her growth personally and artistically than that song. She's capable of taking you back to THAT feeling of her early albums and yet make it very ~current and ~mature by like there's so many references to her younger days like her brilliance is just like she's FINALLY being the one driving the car. Her mind is just.

Her mind is just. I'm obsessed with it! #3 off the album for me. It's fun, has some great lyrics and vocals, and is massively underrated. It was one of my least favorites at first but it's one of those tracks you have to let sink in and realize "Holy f**k, this is an amazing song!". I also love how it feels like a Carly Rae Jepsen song.
