I gather we go by chart date, even though charts are published/known in advance of the chart's date. Doobie Brothers' "Black Water" was at the top of the March 15, 1975, chart (March 20 DOB).

I could be most of your fathers.... My best friends daughter is 21... I don't even feel that old but reading through this thread... LoL I feel like I should hang it up or hang out on the classical part of the board if there is one. Happy Sunday everyone.

I gather we go by chart date, even though charts are published/known in advance of the chart's date This always drives me insane when people talk about βthe #1 when they were born...β Iβd much rather go by calendar date, since that gives you the song that people would have referred to as βthe current #1β as of the moment you were born. Lucky for me, mineβs the same song either way so I donβt have to stick an asterisk on itβ βJumpβ by Kris Kross. Anyway, isnβt this already its own thread somewhere? Letβs talk about the Hot 100 and how insane it is that a song is going to get its 19th week on top.

Not old but not too young either considering I know people who don't know Ashanti, 50 Cent and many more from 2000s.

Yes, it is crazy that OTR may be No. 1 for a 19th week. It's one thing to tie the old record, and then pass it by a week- but to keep extending its stay. Impressive- or, disappointing, that no other track has been "hot" enough to take it down.
