Power ballads were quite popular when “To Get To You” was first released. I get what she was going for with it, but that song always felt like it slightly missed the mark to me.

“Crying Time” was released as a single from the 1993 motion picture The Beverly Hillbillies and while it was originally recorded by Buck Owens in 1964 it was made most famous by Ray Charles who recorded it just a couple years later. This performed about as well as I thought it might as the majority of the rankings came somewhere within the top 40 with only two participants putting it just outside that. This did receive some top-level support, however, with both George Strait Junkie and taylor is terrified losing a top 15. |

“My Night to Howl” was released as the lead single to Lorrie’s fourth studio album War Paint which became her first single to miss the top 30 since her major label debut in 1989. This hisses in as the most polarizing song of the rankdown and with it comes our first #1 loss as well as a top 10 for .indulgecountry . The early #1 ranking from Kanenrá:ke helped this to quickly rebound, however, and even almost squeaked into the top 30 thanks to additional support from RobbyFlorida ’s top 20 ranking. It slowly began trending downward, though, as it got hit with an additional last place from someguy who was also joined there by an early bottom ranking from castleoblivion26. This was never able to regain its footing as taylor is terrified accompanied me with a second bottom 5. |

And with that I say good riddance! "My Night to Howl" has long been one of my least favorite songs by Lorrie and given that it was a lead single I believe it or more less stalled her momentum at that point in her career.
The night is still young so if y'all are still around later I do plan on getting us into the top 30!

“My Night To Howl” is Lorrie’s only real true miss for me. I’m really not sure what they were thinking when they sent it out as the lead single from the album. It’s interesting that it peaked at #31, but only actually spent one week in the top 40. I know that’s more common nowadays with all of these pre-arranged airplay deals, but this was long, long before that.

“I Know What You Did Last Night” was released as the first single from the collaborative album Dos Divas featuring Lorrie and Pam Tillis (aka Grits and Glamour). After just losing his #1 Kanenrá:ke is yet again the highest ranking participant here and loses a top 15 while George Strait Junkie bids goodbye to a top 20. There were a handful of those that put this inside their top 30 while there was a lone bottom 5 from ClevelandRox . |

I really wasn't a big fan of the collaborative albums that Pam and Lorrie did together. I am looking forward to spending some time with them both when we get to the album rankdowns in hopes that maybe they will connect with me finally. I really like both artist so was really excited about them working together when it was first announced.

“Trainwreck of Emotion” was released as the first single from Lorrie’s major studio debut album Leave the Light On and became a top 20 hit in early 1990. This more or less remained steady throughout the duration of the rankdown with only once dipping outside of the top 40 which was attributed to the only bottom 5 ranking from @xfer. Otherwise, there were a handful of top 40 rankings including a perfect one from someguy along with a top 15 from castleoblivion26 and top 20 from taylor is terrified. Unfortunately for .indulgecountry he see's a top 15 exit. |

“He Drinks Tequila” was released as the lead single to I Finally Found Someone which was a collaborative album from Lorrie and Sammy Kershaw, who were then married to each other. Coming in as the 11th most polarizing song is the second single to feature Lorrie and Sammy (the first being “Maybe Not Tonight”). While bboat11 and taylor is terrified are taking shots off their bottom 5, George Strait Junkie and Kanenrá:ke are the licking the salt off of a top 5 and top 10 loss. After flirting with the top 20 early on this slid back and yo-yoed for a bit before settling just outside of where most of its rankings came in at. |

I always thought they sounded great together and I'm sure there would've been additional duets had their relationship lasted. Speaking of which, do you remember their restaurant business venture Hotchickens?! I'm not sure how long it was around, but in the end it didn't work out quite so well for either of them. |

This comes in as the 3rd most polarizing song which see’s a top 5 loss for taylor is terrified and a top 10 loss for @xfer , while at the other end are two bottom 5’s from myself and .indulgecountry . The overall trend for this improved quite a bit as it received additional support along the way including two top 15’s from bboat11 and toomuchboy as well as a near top 20 from George Strait Junkie . |

Ok, I know we lose an hour tonight so let's go ahead and wrap this up for the evening. Missing the top 30 is a song that whisked up some support including a top 5 and a top 10 along with a couple top 20's...only to be bitten by two bottom 5's.
