Maybe they released it midweek because they didn't expect it to open this huge and they thought a very high debut wouldn't have all been in the bag, especially since her previous four singles (Bad Liar, Fetish, Wolves, and Back to You) either did just ok or outright flopped. It's interesting, it seems that any one of those previous four singles could have been the "first single" to her next album, but since they didn't perform probably well enough to their liking, they kept on waiting. Usually when artists see such diminishing returns, it doesn't pay off to keep waiting for that "first lead single" to hit, but in her case, and somewhat strangely, maybe it has. None of those received the pre release promo this did which I think made the difference, plus the on the nose Justin Bieber lyrics are giving it water cooler chatter to sustain interest and streams.

I think it has a chance to rise to number 1 in its second week. That would be amazing, depends on how the rest of the week goes

Retro Hot 100: October 30, 2010Far East Movement and Co. crashed the party with their first of 3 weeks on top, the cast of Glee continued to rack up entries (82 entries in less than 17-ish months), P!nk was red hot 11 years into her career, the chart was almost rid of its STD outbreak... and all sorts of other stuff. Was this posted twice???

The one before was this week nine years ago, which was Like A G6's third week at #1.Edit: I can't find the other one anymore, it got deleted while I was trying to search for it. Perhaps this is a replacement one. Idk.

"What's My Name" hitting #1 before the lead single "Only Girl (In the World) was a moment Definitely. I could've sworn the label did a "buy it again" campaign to get OGitW to #1, which was a good thing.

What's My Name was Drake's first #1 right? Not sure if I remember it right but did Rihanna tweet buying Only Girl the week before it hit #1? It was discounted?
Nelly's Just a Dream was like J.Lo's On The Floor, a comeback hit from an early 2000s hitmaker but was just a one off thing and didn't resurrect their former chart success

I think SYL got it this week. Last week they were very close plus they removed the itunes sale. I believe they are confident they've got it. SYL usually comes in below the predictions. It still couldn't beat Senorita so I'm not that optimistic. Feels like a song that peaks at #2 ala Stay With Me and 7 Years

Why? It's really not all that close. This week is definitely Truth Hurts or Lewis Capaldi. It’s only 7% short by Simon’s Preds and could totally pass at the end. I still stand by predicting it @ #2 but it’s not out of the question 7% behind at the end of the sales and streaming tracking period, though. We already know Circles is on par with TH and SYL on sales. This week it was ahead on iTunes most of the week, but not by much. Streaming wise, it's not immensely higher than them. About 3 million ahead of TH and SYL on Spotify, but Circles trails both on YouTube. Circles is also ahead on Apple, but the difference between them isn't much either. Overall, the 3 are just really close together, just like in sales. So it comes down to airplay, where Circles is still trailing by 40 to 60 million depending on which track you're comparing it too. I just don't see at all how Circles can beat that large airplay spread with its miniscule sales and streaming leads. In the coming weeks, though, it absolutely can given that TH and SYL are peaking in airplay whereas Circles still has quite a lot of room to grow. Maybe even as early as next week depending on how quickly TH declines.

Retro Hot 100: October 30, 2010 Like A G6 and Just A Dream - two of my favorite songs of the decade - peaking in the same week.

The predictions have SYL at #1 with 305 points and Circles at #4 witg 285, that's very close already I hope Circles can at least get one week at #1, that song is just so good

Kanye's lowest song is at 1.3 million and his highest song is at 3 million. That's amazing for an album with only 12 hours of tracking.

Selena holding on pretty strong. I think the midweek release was brilliant, the song had all the attention to impact audiences and its a hit. She even managed a #1 on AM, It would have been overshadowed by Kanye

Rihanna and Shakira did a much better and more classy softcore lesbian porn video with Can't Remember To Forget You.

Late 2010 was such an exciting time on the hot 100, so many songs fighting for the top spot.

"Lose You to Love Me" - Daily Spotify Streams
Oct. 23, 2019 - 2,151,707 (#1) Oct. 24, 2019 - 2,508,273 (#1) Oct. 25, 2019 - 2,659,591 (#2)
It's crazy how it's gaining each day...Does it have a chance at #1 on the Hot 100 if she stays consistent the next 5 days? Still #1 on Youtube as well, and is the top song on Apple Music behind Kanye's album bomb

But when we compare the week when Travis debuted at #1 and this week, Truth Hurts (#1) points are lower.

Someone liked a post I made about Old Town Road back on April 7 when it was in its second week at #1. I don't get to be smug very often but I'd like to take this moment to do it just once: Old Town Road is definitely spending double digit weeks at #1 once it gets there. Mark the words of whoever said it first - and mark my words too if you want. Also, this one amused me too :kii: Why some of y'all acting like this about to be the biggest song of all time?

Am I the only one who feels like this new Kanye era is such a non-event? it seems like it's getting critically panned and panned by fans as well. Selena stole his thunder tbh.

I honestly want Someone You Loved to hit #1 just so I (and others) can make fun of Sean from Diamond Axe Studios (who told us to stream it so he could bash it during list season). BTW, this is my first post on the site (although I've been reading the Year-End Predictions for months).

I mean, it is true that the album isn't being received all that well (I didn't like the album either), but I've seen way more discussion on the Kanye album than I did the two Selena Gomez songs on Twitter. That doesn't mean that Kanye is actually performing better than Selena (as far as global streaming numbers are concerned, Selena is performing better than Kanye), but it does mean that Kanye still has enough power to be the center of attention on a lot of discussions on social media even as it seems like his popularity is on the decline.

Having the entire top 10 on AM and all the album in the top 15 of spotify is a non event? Also its gonna do more numbers than his last album. The album is getting better mixing and fixing right now still, it has been slightly edited already from the first released and it'll keep happening until he is good with it (just like he did with The Life of deleted).

If you're going to release an album, why not finish it completely? I can tell that the mixing is off, but why not fix it and then release it later? Okay, all rappers have album bombs on AM and Spotify, Kanye barely did anything chart wise with Ye anyways so...
