If SYL does hit #1 it'll be one of the longest climbs to the top in chart history

Selena is doing really great so far, #10 on AM, nearly 13 million views on YouTube already and apparently one of the biggest leads on iTunes ever (regardless of how irrelevant that platform is now). Spotify numbers should be really good too, just dont understand why she didn't release last Friday.

New xxxtentacion, one of his most popular leaked songs too School globes would be so magical, they made a bad choice.

Selena is #2 on AM now. Releasing midweek is looking more and more like a dumb decision, but if it holds up after Friday then it really won't matter.

She has never been the huge debut kind of girl, but her streaming numbers were always good and apparently got even better now.

If SYL does hit #1 it'll be one of the longest climbs to the top in chart history I believe at least 2 or 3 songs took at least 30 weeks to hit #1, which is just so hard to fathom. So SYL would need to sit tight for a while to get that record.

Selena just released another song, she is trying as hard as possible to make sure she doesnβt get good numbers next week.

7.9M on Spotify globally, very good! Should be #1!
EDIT: For Selena's first song that is

And yβall bitches said it would peak in teens I'm not sure about where exactly it will debut on the upcoming chart (guess it depends on radio numbers, too) but "Lose You To Love Me" has a pretty good chance of peaking in the teens, as the song will probably, most likely lose a big chunk of its sales and some streams for the next tracking week. Also, looking at Selena's recent chart history, teens is pretty successful for her.

Although we have seen Jonas Brothers of all acts reaching #1 this year so anything is possible.

Selena being #1 on AM is the single most surprising thing I've seen on the chart all year. That's probably her weakest format so spotify is going to be terrifying

Someone you loved remains totally boring to me, it was a global smash I hoped wouldn't hit the US but it unfortunately did I really like how Circles is going, #6 ready on radio should be #4 above the Ed tracks in a week and hit the top eventually?! I don't know if Take What You Want slowly taking off will hinder its performance I don't think the other singles from Hollywood's Bleeding will hinder Circles. I do think he's gonna push Enemies before he really pushes Take What You Want though.Β Enemies is already top 10 on Rhythmic and TWYW is gaining really quickly at pop radio (it was #42 yesterday).

"Lose You to Love Me" is kinda great. And she looks so much like Norah Jones in the video. Wouldn't mind it being her first #1 in the least.

The difference though is that Jonas Brothers were coming back after people thought they would never and when they did, everyone was behind the hype. Selena is sort of a consistent artist. Not saying that she should do an Adele or anything, but she should take a sorta long break and actually come back with actually releasing a song on Friday when the tracking week starts and maybe more success could happen. Iβm still happy for the success sheβs getting now but she should consider doing a strategy

I'll never understand the mid week release because with these steaming numbers, maybe a top 3 debut would be in play. But let's see how the streaming holds up

Probably could've tbh lol. Unless something so monstrous is coming tonight, that it would take over all social media, I can't think of a good reason why to release in the middle of the week but π€·πΎββοΈ

If Selena's song is going to be a hit, it won't matter what day of the week it was released. If Truth Hurts, Old Town Road, Shallow, Someone You Loved, Sunflower, etc. we're released on a Tuesday or something, it wouldn't have stopped them being hits. Most big hits I actually have no idea when they were released.
It only matters for stuff like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears singles where they can get a decent 1st week peak, but little longevity. So they NEED the 1st week to be as good as possible so that it looks like more of a hit than it was on paper (in the media, on Wikipedia, etc.) . Taylor Swift seems to be heading in this direction as well, but likewise, her past hits like Shake It Off, Love Story, etc. would have smashed if released on any day of the week, but maybe she should not do midweek releases anymore. But Selena probably can, I'm sure most (maybe all) of her hits climbed to their peak didn't they?
