She is nowhere on the Country Indicator chsrts. It's moving up on the chart that matters.

Oh wow. The cover art makes this look like a timely single a la "Worldwide Beautiful". Knowing Maren it will be extremely bold. Can't wait to hear it.

Not confirmed but I’m pretty sure "Better Than We Found It" is getting a radio deal tomorrow.

LOVE the song and LOVE the video so much... I actually teared up a bit when se started talking to her son.
What crazy crazy times we’re living in... so happy to see how motherhood seems to be empowering Maren even more to not only be the best version of herself, but also giving her the confidence to share this kind of message though her work.

I see no way that "Better Than We Found It" ever becomes an official radio single, unfortunately. The Blue Lives Matter crowd is already throwing quite a conniption fit on social media over the "wolves at the door all covered in blue" line. The comments of "she just lost a fan", and "wow what kind of mother raises her son to hate police" are expected, but exhausting and plentiful... I don't think it will have a tangible negative impact her career, a la the Dixie Chicks in 2004, because politics are way different now than they were then, but I definitely expect it to be too controversial for radio to let it have a full push. Streaming, however, should allow it to be HUGE, especially if it is fueled by controversy

When you had those two young police officers shot in the face and head area in their car at close range in California? You had people calling for them to die a horrible death outside the hospital. That is why you have Blue Lives Matter formed because there are certain parts mostly street gangs calling for the death of all police officers. Problem is, neither side is listening to each other. Until we have leadership, and the whole community speak up against violence? Nothing will be solved. You are correct, this is not radio friendly because of the subject matter.

I was wrong - this one looks healthy now that it hit the Top 40. I still think they should let it go when it hits Top 20, and then release something new. I’m sure she has a bunch of material she is ready to share!

I have friends who are police officers, and they have never used their guns or used forced on people. The sad part, we have people blaming all cops are racists and killers of black people. That is not true. Do you agree in defunding all the police or get rid of them for good? That is the problem we need to address as well since it is hatred against police officers because have a few bad apples. I don't accused all black people are street gangs doing drive-by shootings killing little kids. We should never accused all police officers either. That is the point that I am making. We should be against racism and support our police officers at the same time. We should never ever use violence against each other.

It's clear from this post that you honestly have no idea what you're talking about here. Go read up on what the phrase "defund the police" actually means, for starters.

I'm just now getting around to "Better Than We Found It" and...wow. Just wow. I'm gobsmacked by the song. It's a message that is so desperately needed in these times and I hope we white people will get off our hands and our privilege and take a close and hard listen to that message. I was moved to tears by that music video in particular, and that message to her son is where I lost it. Life was so much easier when we were that age and had a romanticized image of this world. On the other hand, though, disillusionment is a bitter but necessary pill to swallow. We've got to be disillusioned in order to be able to make a reality out of what we had previously romanticized. And it takes work. Lots of long, hard, arduous, necessary work. We've got to do that work or this country will never change. And that work starts with voting. iwillvote.com vote.govWe've got to do this not only for ourselves, but for our future children and for Lady Liberty, because she's weeping and she needs us now more than ever.

Hmm, why is official video acoustic production... I don't really care about this song, but studio version sounds much better, in terms of how the instrumental production creates depth in the song, and Maren's voice echos well with it.

Took a long time, but this one seems to finally be making some moves. Its gains have improved a lot and it has a really impressive bullet right now.

This debuted on callouts today. It places last with a not so great scores across the board. Third lowest favorite, second highest negative score, and third lowest net positive. However, it has room for improvement since familiarity is very low and the burn rate is decent.
I’m kinda surprised it got on when it barely just got into Top 30 (Hole in the Bottle is not even on yet). But I guess that shows how long this song has been lingering on the chart.

This is just not good still, a horrible single choice from Maren and a complete misfire to the era.

I don't know if this song is done but since Sunday on Mediabase this song has lost 81 spins and 408k in audience with today's update in particular being bad losing over 50 spins and over 300k in audience.
Could just be a poor week and this time next week the song is back with a healthy bullet but I wouldn't be shocked if the label is gearing up for a new lead single in early 2021 and since this song is not really moving a ton again country radio might be aware of this.

In my opinion it would be ridiculous for Maren's team to have no single at radio right after her enormous wins at the CMAs. This probably lost spins because stations opted to play "The Bones" this week -- "And now the CMA Single AND Song of the Year, 'The Bones'...."

This was exactly what I was thinking when I saw the update this morning. I truly do hope it is the end. To Hell & Back has consecutively tested worst for two weeks and has failed to move any needle on the streaming and sales front despite several attempts of promotion. Not even a huge sweep at the CMAs could also revive this song... To Hell & Back has been truly the worst single choice possible and I wish they didn’t hamper the era like this after how massive The Bones was. I know for a fact that they could’ve continued the success if they went with either All My Favorite People or The Feels. Disappointing. But I wouldn’t be too sure about the lead single coming out early 2021. There was an interview with Maren where she spoke about how she’s still in the very beginning stages of working on the next album. Then again, she could always work on the album while having a single out and drop it by the time it’s about to peak. This probably lost spins because stations opted to play "The Bones" this week -- "And now the CMA Single AND Song of the Year, 'The Bones'...." That could be, but if you look at the Country radio recurrent list, you will see that The Bones actually has a negative bullet (a very small one at that) so I do not think that is the case. Radio is just simply unfazed with this single, and for some reason, Columbia/Maren has been purposefully ignoring the writing on the wall. At least they could at the moment is pull this and push out an uptempo to strike the momentum from the CMAs sweep.

Yet another week of being last on callouts. But for the first time, it has shown promise. To Hell & Back is no longer last (or even second/third last) on all metrics except for Positives where it is still last so there is still a chance to improve since the familiarity is still relatively low.
Another good news, To Hell & Back, was able to gain back the spins and audience it lost the last couple of days.

Maren must've really pushed for this one to be a single because "A Song For Everything" and "All My Favorite People" were hits waiting to happen. I still don't understand why her team didn't pivot to a different single upon seeing the lack of interest in this one. Had her team done what Kelsea's team did and moved on when seeing the song was DOA she probably would be nearing the top 10 currently, like Kelsea is.

This one took a long time to connect with me and I thought it was a mistake as a single initially, but I must admit I love it now.
Following a smash such as “The Bones” was no easy task but I’m hooked on this one.

I do really like this song but at this point it might be time to pull the plug on this one as since the start of November this song has let singles by Gabby Barrett, Parmalee/Blanco Brown, Brett Young, Keith Urban/Pink, and Sam Hunt to pass it on Mediabase. This week was also not kind to this song as it lost 48 spins and is the only single from #8 to #30 to have a negative bullet on Mediabase.
I mean maybe this can make the Top 25 on Mediabase but that seems to be the biggest upside for this single at this point and I do think the label would be better off having a lead single in early 2021.

I really think her team is only continuing to promote this to keep her name out there until the new year. I don't see them sticking with this much longer after then. It's crazy her worst performing song will be following her most successful song. If the reason country is resistant to play this is because it has "hell" in the title, I wonder why it looks like they are supporting Eric's new song which has "hell" in the title as well.
