My remaining ranks: 1/2/3/4/5/12/14/17/23/51

Ugh, I still have 2 bottom fives left in. Remaining ranks: 2 4 5 7 13 14 23 ... 53 ... 62 65 I need those three lower ranks to gtfo before top 5 and then I'm honestly golden with anything else winning. Prob not my #23 either, but it would be acceptable at least.

Alright y'all I'm going to go ahead and start chipping away at the top ten so that by evening time we'll have a winner! Here are a few stats to consider for the next five songs: - 69 points separate #10 and #6
- There is only a one point difference between the first two songs
- The second and third most polarizing songs will be revealed
- One song remained in the top 12 for its entirety while another never left the top 14
- Three albums will be retiring before the top 5

Stats for #10:
The first song to exit in the top ten consistently maintained its position there for the entirety of its run only dipping outside of that once, and even then it never got any lower than the #12 position. Thanks to its early support it even climbed into the top three briefly only to settle a bit further back due due in part to it receiving its first ranking outside of the top 40 followed by a lone bottom ten. This is the final song in the rankdown from this studio album.

You left your Bible on the dresser So I put it in the drawer 'Cause I can't seem to talk to God without yelling anymore And when I sit at your piano I can almost hear those hymns The keys are just collecting dust But I can't close the lid
I still believe in Heaven And I'm sure you've made it there But as for me without your love, girl I don't have a prayer 10. “Monday Morning Church”Released: October, 2004 Album: What I Do Peak Chart Position: #5 Total: 410 Average: 21.58 Std Dev: 16.61 {Songs Remaining}Chasin' That Neon Rainbow Chattahoochee Don't Rock the Jukebox Drive Gone Country Livin' On Love Midnight in Montgomery Remember When Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)

Much to everyone's surprise "Monday Morning Church" not just made it into the top ten but only even left outside of that once. This would've been a few positions higher if not for the final list from gonecountry who came in with the lowest rank and a bottom 10 at that. This is the final song to exit the rankdown from Alan's e twelfth studio album What I Do.

"Monday Morning Church" was my favorite discovery. That classic country chorus melody with Patty's angelic harmonies. Wow oh wow.

Stats for #9:
The next song to exit only found its way into the top ten at the last moment as a third participant joined the ranks of those who put this as their top ranking song. This accumulated eight top ten rankings altogether and another two top 20 rankings. It should come as no surprise that this was one of the most polarizing songs as it also picked up two bottom 5 rankings.

Ugh, I still have 2 bottom fives left in. One down! Remember when I was young and so were you And time stood still and love was all we knew You were the first, so was I We made love and then you cried Remember when

.indulgecountry can rest a little easier now as one of his bottom five rankings (and last place at that) exits the rankdown. As you can see from the trajectory this was never a top ten contender and only came to rest at his new peak position when gonecountry joined both someguy and BackwoodsBarbie with a top ranking. I've always loved this song and have always had a soft spot for it. This was inside my own top ten for a time but ended up just shy of that with my final edit. This is the final song to exit from Alan's Greatest Hits Volume II collection.

Ugh @ this treacly mess of a song only making the top 10 at the very last minute. I'm at least thankful to see it floundered around in the 20s for awhile. If only it could've stayed down there. :/ ETA: Also thanks ClevelandRox, LBTrocks, and (especially) George Strait Junkie for not leaving me alone down there in tanking this one!

Stats for #8:
Much like the last song this only found its way into the top ten at the last moment and comes in as the third most polarizing song. Everyone but four participants placed this inside their top 30 with two placing this as their top ranking song. You have to scroll all the way down to bottom 5 and 10 to find the remaining four rankings, though, and I'm sure for them this song long overstayed.

'm just a singer of simple songs I'm not a real political man I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you The diff'rence in Iraq and Iran But I know Jesus and I talk to God And I remember this from when I was young Faith, hope, and love are some good things He gave us And the greatest is love 8. “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)”Released: November, 2001 Album: Drive Peak Chart Position: #1 Total: 402 Average: 21.16 Std Dev: 21.61 (3rd Highest) {Songs Remaining}Chasin' That Neon Rainbow Chattahoochee Don't Rock the Jukebox Drive Gone Country Livin' On Love Midnight in Montgomery

Yep; I guarantee you that my #1 is among those... Sorry :'( I think for the most part "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" likely exceeded everyones expectations as it seemed most of you thought this would be too polarizing to even make the top ten, but alas it had enough support in the top 30 to make it in (despite the best efforts of LBTrocks and .indulgecountry who somehow fount it in their heart to put this in their bottom 5). I had a hard time ranking this song myself and if I could go back I'd probably put this in my top 25 versus just inside my top 30.

Stats for #7:
The next song to leave did manage to compete with a top five showing but it couldn't quite recover enough from the three lower-end rankings it received. The majority of the group put this in their top 30 and while no one loses a number one four participants did put this as their second top ranking song.
Best rankdown position: 5 Worst rankdown position: 30 Average position: 19.68 SD Rank: 27th Highest Ranking distribution: Top 10s: 7 11 to 20s: 4 21 to 30s: 5 31 to 40s: 0 41 to 50s: 2 51 to 60: 1 Bottom 5s: 0

Which means I am about to get grilled for my #51... She's been playing in a room on the strip for ten years in Vegas Every night she looks in the mirror and she only ages She's been readin' about Nashville and all the records that everybody's buying Says, I'm a simple girl myself, grew up on Long Island

"Gone Country" has always been a favorite of mine and I love to hear it just as much today as I did back then. I do think, however, that I may have overranked this a bit by putting it in my top five but regardless it would've been somewhere within my top ten either way.

I actually liked "Gone Country" once upon a time, but I hear it so doggone much. Maybe overplay's done it in for me? Had I been in a better mood, I may have put it at least ten slots or so higher.

I'm glad that y'alls tankings failed and "Remember When" and "Where Were You" still made it to the Top 10. Both are absolutely beautiful songs ( particularly the latter!!! .indulgecountry bb what is you doing?) and are two of Alan's greatest imo.
