Question - do yâall consider Born to Fly her signature song? I definitely understand that...but I think A Little Bit Stronger is close to that. I will never forget that comeback ACM performance where she got a standing O. Highest selling song too. Hmm I would have thought Suds In The Bucket would be her signature song. I would though choose Born To Fly over it as a personal fav. But none of her songs top A Real Fine Place To Start!

The Dixie Chicks had an explosive start in the country genre. They scored so many classic hits like âCowboy Take Me Awayâ, âWide Open Spacesâ, âGoodbye Earlâ, and âTravelinâ Soldierâ and were known for their outspokenness (is that a word?). Unfortunately that came back to bite them when Natalie was recorded saying something negative about then-president George W. Bush (HOW DARE THEY???? /s) and they were blacklisted from country radio. One of the greatest country music crimes ever, imo.
No one loses any #1s, but everyone put them in the top 30!

Also I donât know whoâs supposedly double checking all these numbers, but Shania was NOT my #3 Edit: That honor would go to King George, as you can see! â„ïž

Ahhhh, the King. He broke out in the 1981 and was one of the pioneers of the neo-traditional movement, which steered country music back to where it was supposed to be. One word can be used to describe him: Consistent. He has recorded a number of modern classics, which I have included in the main post. George kept earning hit after hit through the â90s and the 2000s, and even had a considerable radio presence in the 2010s! His last appearance in the top 20 was just last year with âEvery Little Honky Tonk Barâ (and I have a feeling that if he really wanted to he could have gotten a #1 single with âSome Nightsâ), which is a testament to his staying power in country music. Heâs been scoring hits for nearly 40 years, and heâs even still selling albums! 3 people lose their #1 here but George was ultimately hurt by the 2 bottom ranks (which make me cry at night) from ethanhunt and someguy .

I think King George is who bboat11 made me love the most (more than Martina, sorry :'( ) - his music is just SO good. Also is "Run" that iconic? I would've thought something along the lines of "Carrying Your Love With Me" or "Write This Down" would've taken its place instead.

George Strait made it WAY higher than I expected him to, to be completely honest. And I'm ECSTATIC about it. Easily one of the greatest country artists-- no, scratch that... one of the greatest artists of all-time. I've listened to him my whole life.

I have zero clue how you could rank George #38 on this list regardless of your fandom of him or not. His impact on country music is massive. And the amount of respect people have for him is telling.

Shit, I have some stuff to catch up on! I am mostly thrilled with this top 10 though! It has been epic! I'll come back and post more comments later so that I can focus on the finale, but here are at least a couple: -I can't believe I was not mentioned in the list of Sara Evans superfans!!!! Everybody knows that she is just like the smallest possible smidgeon below Martina on my list of all-time faves!! -Let's go REBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, would have MUCH preferred a Dolly win over Reba. -_-
Both are obviously fantastic artists and vocalists, but musically there is just no comparison IMO. Reba has many great tunes and classics as well, but in terms of an overall catalog, Dolly HANDS DOWN has her beat for me!
Anyway, thanks to the hosts for hosting!

I love how the top 2 ended up being artists that took a long time to grow on me just because I didn't like their voices at first... They both have very distinct voices. Both are artists that I became more familiar with on Pulse but I still have a lot of their catalog left to discover (moreso for Dolly than Reba) - now that I think about it a lot of artists here are artists I wouldn't really have gotten to know without Pulse so thank you to each and every one of you for those discoveries Thanks for hosting ladyđfan and kamala 2024 truther! I dragged you (especially Carrie) a lot but it was quite a fun ride!

In re: Sara's signature hit, I would 100% say it is "Born to Fly." I'd actually place ALBS even just below "Suds" in third place, honestly. All three are iconic hits, but BTF is just that song for her and is the one that will always be most closely tied to her artistry, mostly because there's a big nostalgia factor for most country singers first true breakout hit and the music video kinda solidified it as her signature with the memorable Wizard of Oz concept. Happy with this outcome! Reba was my #4 vs my #3 for Dolly, so even though I'd have preferred the reverse order here, I love both of them immensely and they are easily the two most legendary female artists in country music history.

Dolly is just so...Dolly. I love her so much! She has a great sense of humor (just look up âDolly Parton husbandâ on YouTube and youâll see) and she has such an iconic discography! â9 to 5â, âIslands in the Streamâ, âJoleneâ, âBetter Get to Livinâ, etc. are all SO good.
Rebaâs performance of âDoes He Love Youâ with Kelly Clarkson in the 2018 ACMs was AMAZING! I love numerous songs of hers like âAnd Stillâ, âWhat Do You Sayâ, âConsider Me Goneâ, âFancyâ, âThe Night the Lights Went Out in Georgiaâ, âThe Heart Wonât Lieâ... the list goes on and on! And I have to give a special shoutout to âEnoughâ from her 2015 album because that song is perfection.
